I'm really enjoying it, but I have a few beefs.
1) Infinate enemy spawns. I am very used to clearing out all opposition before getting objectives done such as setting charges, reviving teammates, etc. When enemies just keep coming and coming with no end, it makes this kinda hard. Not really a flaw per se, but its something I don't really dig on.
2) The main blaster weapon is not effective enough. Its great against droids. No problem there. You can usually just saw their heads off with a good line of fire. Anything else though, and you can sit and empty an entire clip into those fuckers (not talking about super droids btw) and they shoot the whole time like they're not taking damage. My friend argued "well, you take damage and keep firing so why not them?" Good point. Not sure if I like having a weapon where you can't tell if you're landing hits or missing, but still an interesting point.
3) The AI is good, but its not THAT good. From time to time my guys will place a bomb on a door or something and then just stand there right next to it. I blow it and yell "get clear" and they move, but you can still tell they're taking some light damage. That's just kinda dumb. MOST of the time they know better, but the occassional hiccup in wisdom is pretty noticable when its something like that.
Now onto the good things.
The graphics are "holy shit!" good. Especially when you use the night vision on your visor. Looks like the real deal. Very convincing. Great art all around too. The characters and locations are all very exotic and interesting to look at.
Sound is matched only by the spectacular offerings of Full Spectrum Warrior. The chatter, gunfire, bursts of static when the droids get blown up, etc. Its all incredible. The music is also very appropriate. You get in the shit and it just starts getting real dramatic to the point where if somebody in the next room was listening, they'd think you were watching a Star Wars movie.
AI IS pretty good for the mostpart. When enemies kick your grenades back at you, it always seems to be at the most unexpected time. Really cool. And I like how your squad uses corner fire and other REAL tactics without being told. Not like the marines in Halo 2 who just kinda stand around and get shot. This is what Halo 2 needed for your allies.
Lastly, the game really has a way of bringing me into it's world. What more can you ask for from a game?
