Region-free cannot happen because Sony cannot screw over all the publishers that bought regional rights for certain PS1/PS2 titles. It's not happening guys, 0% chance, sorry.

When I choose English menues on my Japanese PS3 - Resistance becomes EXACTLY like the English version (all menus etc)
When I switch back the system language on the PS3 to Japanese, Resistance becomes fully localized in Japanese. Thus both versions are on the disc. (Doesn't say much about region lock though.. but looks slightly promising...)

Oh BTW, they made us answer (voluntarily) a questionnaire in the end of the reg process. They ask if PlayStation Store (or whatever the name is, forgot (!)), would still be interesting if there wa sa fee for the access. I answered HELL NO just in case...
Once configured, you can just go to the system settings and change between a bunch of languages (many european as well..)

That's even worse. Free online access with online play is very appealing. Paying for that isn't.

I just hope they aren't getting the idea of starting the service off free to get people really liking it and then switching it to pay to use all of a sudden. I'd much rahter them keep it free and charge for the downloads like they've been planning.
Here is a segment of the launch from the german News. They said that Sony shipped 100.000 Units, but then again they also said that the PS3 has a DVD-Drive. :/ They also spoke about production problems and high prices on the internet etc.

either way - would getting a faster hard drive improve load times? I'm assuming no as the games are programmed for a lower speed so the only benefit is for general storage/access of your personal stuff...? thanks for any answers.

Thats the $5,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 question. 10,000 RPM drive get! If there are any noticeable difference in multiple seconds of loadtime difference. It would be so awesome. Especially after seeing that your able to connect a 3.5" drive to the PS3.

There's a rumor going around GTPlanet that GTHD is going to feature a track editor. Not really having to do with the PS3 launch but still very cool if true. Especially since Kaz has talked about being able to do user sharing.

Though, I can see this being useful with Computer Monitors that use super high resolutions

It's sad to know that 80,000 other people now have a PS3 as early birds don't get to feel special anymore. ;-) Still at least we get to play Motorstorm while you guys play through Genji LOL. Does anyone know when Motorstorm's JP date is btw? Thanks.
