Well, I'm more or less ok to pay for the taxes, but I don't want to lose one week in the process.bbyybb said:But of course you know they will![]()
The power indicator on the system front is flashing red and green alternately.
* The interior of the system has become hot. Check whether the system is being
used in a hot location or whether the vents are blocked. Continuing to use the
system in the above condition will cause it to stop functioning. Turn the system off
and leave it unused until it cools down. After the system cools down, turn it on again.

I purchased some downloadable game content on the PLAYSTATION®Network. Part of the product description says the content can be used or downloaded on up to five (5) activated PLAYSTATION®3 system units. What does that mean?
Answer
This means that the content that you purchased may be used by other users on an activated PLAYSTATION®3 system unit after you downloaded the content onto your PLAYSTATION®3 system unit. Some content may require the user to have a PLAYSTATION®Network account, and other content may require you to have additional game content that may be sold separately. For example, you may need to purchase a full game in order to use the character that you purchased on the PLAYSTATION®Network for the game.
Please review the use restrictions associated with the content you purchased. The content may be played up on to 5 activated PLAYSTATION®3 system units at any one time. PLAYSTATION®3 system units may be deactivated so that you can change which PLAYSTATION®3 system units are activated at any time.
What does "activation" mean and what does it require?
Answer
For certain types of game content, the game console that the content is intended to be used on must be activated by the PLAYSTATION®Network account that purchased the content. This is an important requirement. If a game console is not activated, then the game console can not be used to access the content that may have already been purchased. The PLAYSTATION®Network account that purchased the game content may activate the game console through the Account Management section
Too bad it doesn't say anything about my problem (3 beeps before shut down)gofreak said:Not sure if this is old, but Sony seems to have a much bigger system guide on their site than the manual, including some troubleshooting info.

The latter is what happened with mine, and it did cool down and has operated normally since once I moved it away from other (heat-producing) gear. I'm not sure if it first started flashing red and green alternately, but I'll perhaps be paying a little more attention to those lights in the future.

Blimblim said:Btw, Sirolf just told me he has the exact same issues as me. That's just too weird to have what should be the only 2 french PS3 users on GAF to get the exact same problem. Especially since his PS3 is a US one and mine japanese. I'll do some more testing tonight...
I've tried with both my 500W 220->110V power converter and 220V directly. Same result.Timan said:I have no idea what I'm talking about, but could it be the way you guys are hooking it up? Maybe something to do with the way the power is getting to the system... (not sure if your plugs are different or not).
sonycowboy said:My Best Buy just got in 35 20GB systems, unpacked them in front of the lines in the front of the store and they were gone in 1 minute. Although, disturbingly for Sony, I didn't see a single person buy a game.
Why are they producing so many 20GB systems? You would have thought that they would go for maximum profitability on the 60GB systems.
Bebpo said:While I still think Genji II plays pretty bad (it's like Sonic, you hate playing as everyone except the lead, and the lead guy is still mash-a-thon), I'm playing through it now in between breaks of Zelda and OH MY GOD the graphics are INCREDIBLE. Okamoto is soooo good at visuals even if he can't make gameplay to save his life. If you have an HDTV and a PS3 it's worth a rent and an endurance of the first stage in order to see the gorgeous visuals.
Is the JAP PS3 marked 110V or 100V? My japanese consoles are marked 100V.Blimblim said:I've tried with both my 500W 220->110V power converter and 220V directly. Same result.
What it says? Is it because it don't soport PAL signal? Can you try region free PAL DVDs (DVD-R decrypted for example)?mrklaw said:Japanese unit doesn't play PAL DVDs BTW. Just checked

Jim said:Genji starts out looking pretty meh, but then at one point it's totally eye-popping and almost CG-looking. It's a bit inconsistent, but the first chapter in particular really is not representative of the game's visuals at all. Once you hit chapter 2 things turn around dramatically.
The game itself is pretty tedious and boring though IMO, but the occasional graphic highlights keep you going.
Also, I'm seriously considering getting this a PS3 keyboard/mouse solution. Just a standard USB 2.4GHz wireless keyboard with receiver. The similar Logitech products work, so I would assume this would as well.

I agree about Resistance. The first two areas felt rather dull, but the game really picks up...and continues to pick up with each level. At this point, it might be the best FPS I've played since 2004 (not counting Half-Life 2 Episode 1, which is just an expansion).Nozi said:Got my Japanese ps3. Resistance was average to me at first but after a while it really picked up and now I'm enjoying it a lot.. the graphics really pick up later.
The motorstorm demo is a lot of fun, but did they get rid of the realtime track deformations Sony were touting at e3? I didn't notice them in the demo.
Any hacks for multi-region backwards compatability yet?
PS2's region free loaders are suposed to work (originals only).Nozi said:Any hacks for multi-region backwards compatability yet?

drohne said:talladega nights is supposed to be a poor disc, but it shouldn't look like 480p. a lot of lcds apparently mishandle 1080i, and ps3's blu ray player doesn't output 720p. hopefully this will be fixed in a firmware update.
