Never experienced that myself, I'm using hdmi but I'm not sure I can help.f@luS said:-Abou the HDMI lil' burning issue
Playing blu-ray movies or games, the PS3 has always been quiet for me. I never really noticed a difference in fan speed or it getting louder. Though stinkles says his ps3 gets loud during blu-ray playback, I don't even hear mine when playing movies (or games for that matter).f@luS said:-The fan spee
Can't say honestly, I never looked at until until a week or so after I started downloading stuff so my number wouldnt be accurate.f@luS said:-The amount of data needed by the PS3 on the HDD ( xxg?)
Not yet, but many assume (because the psp has this feature, after launch), that it will come in one of the next firmware updates. Rumors point to this big pre-europe launch firmware update.f@luS said:-Still no way to change the wallpaper?
Only the first 500k units in NA had the free movie.f@luS said:-No more Free BR movie right now bundled with the system right? ( i had no tagada thing sticker :x)
MikeHaggar said:alright, so i was just at walmart looking to pick up a ps2. they didn't have any. however, sitting on the shelves was a single 20gb ps3. i bought it. i walked away at first, but ended up coming back to it and caving. now it's sitting in the box in my room staring at me. i'm not sure if i should open it. i can afford it, but i wasn't planning on buying one for quite some time. how the hell can walmart not have any ps2's?

Crackerman16 said:Are you just trolling, cuz it sure sounds like it.
If you already bought a PS3 and can afford to buy one without worrying about price, then why are you letting it sit there, unopened? And why are you even posting here, telling people this, like we care? Either open it, play it, use it, or just return it. Simple as that.
jjasper said:I think I have found the perfect date for me to get my PS3. On Feb 20 the Prestige comes out on Blu Ray and VF5 comes out so it only makes sense that I get it then. After CES I am pretty disapointed in HD DVD and feel that it might be best to sell my add on and put it toward the cost.

Crackerman16 said:It's happened to me before... a few times. At first, I was a bit scared something was wrong with my HDTV and/or PS3. But it went away after I calibrated my TV again... so try calibrating your set and see if that fixes it.
I'm not sure what I did to fix it or what the true cause of the problem is, but I believe it has something to do with how high you set the Brightness of your TV to. That and maybe the Contrast as well. All I know is, my PS3 doesn't have the "burn-in" problem anymore. It only occurred up to about 3 weeks (and not everytime I used PS3) after I got it.
Dante said:yeah, you might want to take that back, there something wrong with it. Mine makes no sound at all.
mckmas8808 said:I'm curious, but why are you disappointed in HD-DVD after CES?
It's up to you I guess.jjasper said:OK I went out today and for some reason buckled and got a 20 gig instead of a 60, should I take it back?
Couldnt tell you because I only have one unit, but I havent really experienced slow downloads. Though without knowing the actual speed a file is going, its hard to say. But if it helps, I downloaded the gripshift demo in about 3 minutes on my 60GB.jjasper said:Are download speeds much slower on wifi and is there a lot of lag?
USB, or use data discs (RW's should work so you wont waste blanks). Or you can use red kawa file server for ps3.jjasper said:How can you put movies, pics, and music on the system by other means than the memory slots?
500K in north america.jjasper said:Also how many systems did they back Talladega nights with cause it was in mine which i didn't expect.
rocks mine too.jjasper said:PS: Resistance rocks my socks.
Yeah Just go to show all or something like that when pressing triangle, it should show files. I tried it with a DVDRW a while back when I couldnt fit a movie on my 1GB memory stick and it worked great (this was before I found out about the file server).gutter_trash said:data disks? they work? time for me to pop some disks in there

Christopher said:Is it ok to leave the playstation 3 on standby, meaning you can turn it off but not power it down in the back? I always did that with my PS2 when I turned it off turned it off from the back as well.
Also to the poster who cound't turn it off via the touch pad, just use the PS button on the controller dude, I just use the remote to turn it off.
Also sometiems the bluetooth doesn't pick up when I turn the console on, sadness.
