Official US/JP PLAYSTATION 3 Launch Thread

I think I'm gonna go take a ride and see what's going on with campers and such. It is POURING outside right now too. Bless you, Gamestop.
 
So ... what PS3 exclusive titles are coming out, lets say in the next 6 months? I can't decide if i really want to get the system as I'm pretty content with my 360 /shrug.

Hmm... I guess I'm crazy but I was hoping for more to make it seem worth it to me heh. I want Resistance BAAAD though ... *wishes he could test the MP* :)
 
damnit, I know that keybaodr wont work and i dont evern need a ps3 to tell me that. Guess ill just have to get a corded one tomorrow.

Oh I wanted a BD movies for launch, and I wanted to see somthing I had never seen(sorry blazing saddles) so I got the House of Flying Daggers, hopw its decent

well SHIT, I can take it back I suppose. I have no interest in seeing Kingdom of heaven or blackhawn down again. I didn't see a whole lot else that was interesting

I don't think there was. Frankly, at this point, I'm over it. If I'm getting a Wii on Sunday and I have a 360... the only reason for me to buy a ps3 is to play Resistance (which sounds less and less appealing) and to simply say I have it (the latter being more important).

For the record, it's the Pentagon City Sony Store I was referring to if someone wants to give it a shot.

I'd be bitching less about VF5 being monoplatform if Sega would widely distribute the arcade cabinet in the U.S. so my local arcades can get one. I'm just sayin'.

yes, same here for japan - the second shipment this week was due to be 100k too.
It ended up being 30k.

I'm guessing that given the last minute scale back that they'd be pretty hard pushed to be moving 100k a week to the US.

bullshit..after getting screwed tonight I went to a walmart who said they have 4 systems tonight and are on tap to get another 8 by christmas...8.

Well that sucks. I guess Sony wants to lose bad. Goes to show you that Sony just isn't ready to be the market leader yet. *shakes head*

Just drove by the walmart near me. I didn't go in, but I saw like three chairs set up, up front. Like 8 people hanging around. So if anyone in Miami cares take a chance with this walmart

well if there really are as few as 200k like they say and your walwart gets 4 or that, sounds like another 400k by xmas

Returned House of Flying daggers BD. didn't seeanything I wanted until... lone copy of FullMetalJacket!!! Grab a case of High life too.

Actually that's not confirmed afaik.There are shipments planned in Japan every weekend so I'd wait next week's numbers before falling in an other "OMG only 40k units at day one" mistake.

If 100k per week a reality, we should have had more than 400k for the launch :|

At work, we've already received our shipments of the PS3 and Wii, but I wasn't able to deflower them like I planned to. However, I was dicking around with the PS3 Sixaxis and that shit is rather light, even in the retail packaging. $70 CDN, though... Also, they don't speak of battery replacement on the controllers--just flat out throw 'em out.

It was most likely Rick Leventhal reporting for Fox News this morning. He kept on saying that the PS3 was having problems with BC because it couldn't play like 200 out of the thousands of games available for PS and PS2. The dude's a good guy, but he knew jack shit about PlayStation and video games in general. I believe he was just reporting what he heard from the people lining up in NYC told him. Oh, and he did a quick interview with Kaz where he asked about the delays of PS3 and stuff.
