2) Some minor fix of audio issue. For example, if you using optical audio out on 1.10 firmware, after watching DVD or BR, audio out sometimes disabled. This problem was fixed.
Jim said:Awesome... that problem with DD audio in games cutting off after playing a BRD/DVD movie is gone. Was one of my top issues.
A few days ago, when I started up the PS3 and tried to play MotorStorm, I got that exact same error message.TheJollyCorner said:Problem:
I'm trying to get my 1.11 update going, but it stops at 60% everytime with this message:
An error has occurred.

anyone know what the deal is?

I popped in Resistance, and it gave me the same error when attempting to boot up.
Weird enough, though, everything else worked (Internet Browser, movie clips on HD), and when I restarted the console everything was fine. That gave me a really good scare, though.
You could always try downloading the update from a PC and then installing it via a USB Storage device (PS3 gives you this option, I believe).TheJollyCorner said:edit:
oh ****... I can't even sign in to the PSN until I get this update, which won't update!Someone help!

Reading GAF from my living room couch while listening to Gaming Podcasts over my Home Stereo is tits...
Complete and absolute tits..
hyp said:just to help w/ this paranoia i'm feeling, has anyone experienced lock ups while playing the motorstorm demo? i had to hold down the power button to turn the PS3 off, which took quite a whiile and beeped 3 times. but then i powered it on and it was okay.
How are you connecting the PS3 to the network?TheJollyCorner said:and the damn thing still isn't completing. One time I got it to 73%, but every other time it's right around 60%. I've restarted it, let it rest awhile, tried another log in name, basically everything.
This is shitty. I gotta find some kind of customer service number... -_-

hyp said:i actually like this feature A LOT. it's a pain in the ass to download an MP3, throw it on a flash drive and then put that in the 360... but with a PS3 all you have to do is just click on a link in the browser and download it to the HDD.
wasting said:how far is your couch? do you wear glasses?
you've never heard of windows media connect? streaming wins.
it seems like im the only one with this problem but web browsing on ps3 is so slow its faster to run over to my pc download it on there and stream to my 360 before the page even comes up
Weird - the only reason I knew there was a new firmware update was because a notification popped up in the top right corner of screen while I was in the XMB around 2am EST last night. I have a US PS3 and US network account so it all seems pretty kosher.TheJollyCorner said:I just talked to Sony support. They said it might be because the main site hasn't updated to 1.11 yet (?), but when I told him others got it to go through he seemed a bit confused. He told me to wait and try again once the Sony site updated and then use the USB transfer as a last resort.
hmm...
Who did you rent from? I always used Hollywood Video, as they were close, but they don't seem to be renting HD-DVD or BD movies yet.JeffDowns said:Just rented Mission Impossible 3 on Blu-Ray. All I gotta say is :-O

I upgraded my 20GB model and I'm unsure about what to do with the 20GB drive I took out. There's next to no demand for 20GB HDDs so it's virtually worthless, I'm thinking of getting an enclosure from ebay for it as they are cheap, just about £9![]()

I wonder if they could patch in something like this...

mrklaw said:yep, formatted to FAT32. can you get bus powered enclosures for 2.5" drives? That'd be handy
I sit about '10 feet away and use an SDTV so viewing the web from the PS3 looks great for me, although due to the 'zoom' certain websites are unenjoyable to read due to the constant left and right scrolling required.wasting said:how far is your couch? do you wear glasses?

My XP install is formatted to NTFS, will I be able to see a FAT32 drive in XP and transfer files to it?

Shawnwhann said:Sweet!! I think this feature should be standard for the next generation of gaming hardware, storage will no long be an issue anymore. Now DSL just need to improve bandwidth for faster downloading of content off of these virtual marketplaces!! I ain't paying anymore than 25 a month for it, so the critics saying "Get T1" can suck a fattie!
BTW 93 bucks for the HD at Newegg!!

Avalon said:I'm at Gamestop picking up a couple of things. When I get up to the counter I notice they have a 60GB PS3 box for display. Naturally, after my purchase I ask if they have any in stock. They tell me no of course... but as I'm walking about one of them mention that they have ONE 20GB model in stock. I think about it long and hard and decide If I'm going to get a PS3, it's going to be the 60GB model. Christmas is almost here, it will be almost impossible to find until next year... Did I do the right thing?![]()
