Official Xbot turn in your jacket thread.....

I might buy it...

I don't want all the other shit, I just want a good number of games that I want to play on it.

Gears of War looks cool

PLAYSTATION 3 is the only next generation console to get online connectivity right out of the box.

Xbox 360 offers ethernet output and then you gotta buy a 100 dollar wireless adapter (ME STILL WTF).

Revolution (Quasi gen LOLZ?) offers wireless connectivity out of the box but no ethernet output. Which is almost as dumb as what MS is doing.

I, for one and surprised over all this drama on the pricing. I think people are being a little unreasonable. I don't think the pricing is that bad, it's just not what everybody wanted. Blame lies on both sides, M$ sayying they were aiming for the $299 price point and not offering specifics, and people who had hopes, dreams, and delusions that M$ was going to hook them up with all the bell and whistles they've been hyping for $299.

Let's just be real, as stated above te $299 price is aimed for those who don't gice a damn about the HDD, wireless controllers and such. M$ is going for market pentration and they are trying to get the casual gamers to ante up. There is no splitting the market, you can get all the functionality buy buying the other components later, so while I think it kinda sucks perosnally I can see what they are trying to do. I may not agree with the apporach 100%, but I can at see what the overall goal is. To me this is not that big of a deal. You're acutllyl getting a break by going with the $299 model. I know it would have been nice to have the 'pimped out' X360 for $299, but M$ isn'ttrying to eat as much cash as they did with the first XBox. :lol

But hell, what do I know. Vote with your wallets, If $399 is too rich for your blood then so be it. But I why a ot of people are extremely pissed off?! f I had some PS3 and Revolution pricing and details, or some form of comparison, I think I'd could understand. Please don't take my repsonse the wrong way. Although you may disagree, just explain how the pricing is unreasonable?

<gulp> BOy, I've set myself up haven't I?

Which is awesome for those that care about taking their console online wirelessly out of the box. But i'm willing to bet you'll pay for it too (w/PS3).

Those prices suck. :\

But I paid 500 euros for PS2. I paid 500 euros for Xbox. I know for sure I will pay 399 euros for Xbox 360. I just cant resist new tech, not to mention PGR3 and Oblivion.

I want to believe :D

Best thing is, ALL THE IDIOTS ON XBL will be filtered out by the high price. Less chance of a 12 year old calling me nigger fag, that alone is worth the price. Online gaming bliss for a few months. Ahhhh

LOL

You can have my Xbox Jacket because this 360 nonsense is a load of BULL CRAP.

Seriously, I am the biggest Xbox 1 whore, and if Xbox was a dude I would probably service him until he nutted man yogurt on my udders, but the combination of pricing and segmented hardware is like Microsoft pooping in my mouth.

Yea, a $40 64MB memory card that would fill up fast with patches and downloads or a $99 20gig HD. Which would you choose?

None of this is really making sense right now. Better hope the 360 supports thumb drives.

Won't matter. No backwards compatibility without the hard drive.

GI: Will original Xbox titles be playable on 360s without hard drives attached?

Koch: Backwards compatibility will only be possible with a machine with a hard drive. Our goal is to have virtually all of the games work on the Xbox 360. There is a quality control issue that we take seriously that we want to make sure that we’re saying, “Hey, these games work on a backwards compatible basis.” [We want to make sure] that we’ve taken the necessary steps to ensure the quality around that.

Man, I'm glad that some of the games I was looking foward to this Fall on the 360 are coming for the PC, this definately made up my mind on what platforms to get Condemned and Oblivion on. The only real 360 "exclusive" game I'm interested in now is Too Human, which probably won't come out for a while, and hopefully by then, the price will be dropped.

I hope it plays the shitty games too, those are my favorites.

edit: In particular the Japanese one with the "Let's Learn English" TV show hosts attempting to act and getting voiced over by people who aren't them...MAXIMUM CHASE.

Hell, I was actually considering swithching from Sony brand to MS this gen but after seeing that pricing I have no choice to wait and see what Sony and Nintendo have cooked up

$100 20 gig HD? $100 Wireless adapter? $50 wireless controllers?

MS was supposed to BECOME #1 in this market before ASSFUCKINGRAPING us. They haven't earned that right like Sony has. I mean, what's the point of rooting for the underdog when they're screwing us over already?

Big, big fuckup. If the games were mind-blowingly awesome, and if the xbox1 wireless adapter were compatible, I might consider it at launch, but that's not gonna happen. :lol

As our friendly Mr. Bob says, I WELCOME OUR 1 CONSOLE FUTURE. *bows before Ken*

(man MS, if i'm turning my jacket and badge, you REALLY fucked up :lol)

even though your metaphors leave me a bit nauseous, I too am dissapointed in this turn of events.

mr boob is the weathervane of day to day fanboyism!

I don't mean to be a troll but I don't think any publisher would aproove of games that require the use of the HDD if most of the systems sold don't have it

I think they just killed whatever advantage they gained by coming out first. I was thinking about getting one this year, but now there's not a snowball's chance in hell. If any of you guys are crazy enough to spend 400+ acessories on this, fucking go for it.

Heres my strategy. Run down to Funcoland and sell every single peice of my xbox stuff except the games I don't want to give up for store credit. That should easily offset the $100 difference in price.

A hunnerd bucks for a 20 GB HD? Lord, I just paid $100 for a *200* GB drive -- what the hell?

but..but...it's a 2.5 inch HD with a SATA interface! SATA!

Well to be fair isn't the X360 using the smaller SATA 2.5 HD's?

There's enough money in these jacket pockets to be able to afford that. I don't know what everyone is freakin out about. When the PS2 first came out people were paying $500+ for it everywhere, and when the Xbox came out I remember stores forcing you to buy bundles that were worth almost $700. Both systems still sold out.
So a $399 system is not worth it?? Since when? Especially since it's probably gonna be a heck of a lot more powerful than the PC's that most people have.

This is some serious bull scat!

If you go with the cheaper set, you still have to fork out an additional $40 just to be able to save your games (memory card). That's such a joke it's not even funny. At the very cheapest, it's going to cost you $390 for an Xbox 360 Lite with one game and memory card before any taxes.

Screw you Microsoft, I'm passing.

You don't count, you would have said "Screw you Microsoft, I'm passing" even if the Xbox 360 was $49.95 and came with a coupon for a free servicing from Madame Trixie.

yeah fuk dat. I'll just spend $299 and upgrade my pc. No way in hell I'm spending $399 for a console, and no way in hell am I gonna spend $299 and get screwed on accessories.

Some of the accessory prices are ridiculous, especially the memory card and wi-fi. What did the official xbox controller s cost?
€400 bundle is pretty good for me anyway, and is what I was expecting. I can most certainly afford it.

thanks a bunch MS, but no thanks.

heres what im going to do for you: buy a new Thompson drive off of ebay, fix my xbox, play it untill it dies again. then ill go buy a Revolution or a PS3.

whoo!

Check my latest posts. Just yesterday I was saying that I wanted to pick up a 360 at launch. JUST YESTERDAY! I thought we'd be getting a better deal, however. I also never figured that controllers would cost as much as a game either or that we'd get screwed out of the HD cables, or that...

Seriously, I want a 360, but I refuse to blow a month's wages on the system, a couple extra controllers, and a couple of games. I can wait for that crap to show up in Gamestop used.

Xbox wired controller - $40

Xbox wireless controller - $50

20 gig HDD - $99

Wireless adapter - $99

...
....
....

Being asked to turn in jacket you already turned in 3 months ago - PRICELESS

I don't think people are pissed at the prices, they are pissed at the HDD not being standard.

very true. even if the basic package (with wired controller) came with a small HDD, things would not be this out of hand.

having a separate HDD is a really lame move.

I don't think people are pissed at the prices, they are pissed at the HDD not being standard.

Im pissed at the price. Games hardly ever took advantage of the harddrive. It was convinent sure, but thats about it. With ps3 not including a harddrive I wouldnt have expected it to be any different this generation.

QFT, cliched? I know. but this really bothers me, I hope they just cancel the core SKU and leave the premiun one, in that way the HD can become standard

Holy crap, WTF, Wireless Adapter for $99? Has MS gone batshit insane? What a rip off!

The premium pack didn't do it, but that did it:

MIC060081.jpg

I'll still get one at launch. *Shakes fist at PGR3 and Oblivion.*

how about you just have all the jackets and keep them all, so you get to play all the games?

HDD or no HDD, you are still gonna play Halo 3 and err... those other games... on X360 that make it "Better/worse" a choice than the PS3 ... IF you are in that situation that is.

And frankly, me personally ? that should have been the decission people were taking if you can only afford the one machine : "which of the guaranteed platform specific games do i care most about?"

To those comparing the 360 harddrive price to normal harddrive prices. Laptop drives are fucking expensive! I payed like 150+ bucks canadian for a just a slow ass (compared to desktop harddrive speeds) 40 gig drive. Anyway, not turning in my jacket. The premium pack extras are all just fluff to me. Harddrive means nothing to me. It was hardly used in the xbox 1 and it's other advantages I didn't care for (except for maybe not having to buy a memory card).
