Just went up a few minutes late.

Now all I need is for some big-haired 80's girl to scream in my ear, "Like OMG, it's like totally tubular to the max!", and my retro trash experience will finally be complete.Shard said:Trailer for Pac-Man: Championship Edition

Gastronaut Studios sends over word that there will be a new free update for their popular Xbox Live Arcade fighting-action game Small Arms on Wednesdat. The free update will contain bug fixes and enhancements to the game. In addition a content expansion for the game will also be released on Wednesday that will cost 250 Microsoft points. The content update will include two new playable characters, two new levels, and two new Xbox Live Achievements.

I've grown horribly sick of Small Arms, but as an achievement junkie, I've been anticipating the first XBLA to make use of the expanded achievement list feature. Too bad the first game is Small Arms, because I'm too curious to see what the new achievement window (I can't help it!) looks like.a Master Ninja said:Dammit, so much for me being #1 for Small Arms on the GAF leaderboard. I don't think I'll be buying that new content. Hopefully they are smart and allow people that don't have the new content to play with people that do.
rcl66 said:I was very interested until I heard the 800 Points cost. Also a bit worried about how it will control with the 360 controller at the speeds shown in that video. The original Pac Man has control issues and it's way slower.
Probably not, but there are enough achievement whores for there to be a resurrection tomorrow.MirageDwarf said:Haven't played Small Arms for a long while on Live but are there lots of people playing it still?
xabre said:So that's it for this week then...small arms patch and pacman?
Oh joy :/
FirstInHell said:I am all over this new Pac Man game. This is the way retro titles should be done! First Jetpac and now this. Awesome!
Shard said:Carcassonne was supposed to be here this week but alas it was not to be.
xabre said:Well they better release something decent next week because I've got 800 points to spend and soon no internet for the forseeable future.
Diablohead said:I love the idea of championship edition but the 800 mspoints just seems so so wrong on so many levels.

And I'm #3 on the leaderboards for Extra Mode 2!
EDIT: This game is absolutely worth every one of those 800 points. It's not just Pac-Man. Videogame history has been made!
EDIT2: I'm serious. It feels like playing Pac-Man for the first time.
Sean said:I told myself I wouldn't spend 800 points on this game but I dunno now....
It truly is like playing Pac-Man for the first time. This version is a lot more fun to play IMO.
Rlan said:It does look pretty damn good, and the demo was pretty fun too.
But am I correct to say it doesn't include an 'original' Pac-Man mode in there at all? No untimed, regular Pac-Man using the original board, or a mode whee you do a regular Pac-Man game but it goes to a different board each time you complete the last?
aku:jiki said:I think Small Arms wins the worst DLC award. The two new characters are just skins for existing characters (the girl ninja and the knight are now a sabretooth tiger and an elephant) and one of the two new levels sucks ass. It's only 250, but still. Don't call skins "new characters", you ****ers.
ColdBlooded33 said:Wow, this game is awesome :lol I was NOT expecting that. i THINK its worth 800 points. The D-Pad is absolute horseshit. i cant say how many times that shit got me killed already.
Matrix said:Just passed your score on the championship mode3 ranks ahead of you CB.Awesome game.
You're the only one on my friends list so far that has bought it,I have 98 people on my list :lol
Lumines does it too, and does it very well. Any game you play that earns you a leaderboard spot (anywhere on the board) gets saved and uploaded, so you can watch how pretty much anyone played at any time. Doesn't exactly help for Lumines, but it's still an awesome feature. Wish more games had it. Wish more XBLA games had a lot of things. Oh well.SuperPac said:(Tetris Evolution has something similar to this, actually, where you can watch a top player's replay)
a Master Ninja said:The auto-update for Small Arms fixed the broken achievements and balanced the weapons better. It might be worth checking the game out again.
ColdBlooded33 said:Sounds like your throwing down the gauntlet, old friend. Ill handle you when i get home tonight
