Well, if you buy all the corresponding board games, you'll be out of more than $100 (and you'll only get local mp). At least this is somewhat cheaper ($22.50).

We were told some time ago that Ubisoft's War World was still coming to the Xbox Live Arcade - a game which was shown back in the E3 2007 Montage, and was supposedly coming out on August of the same year, but never materialized.
Now over a year since it was meant to be released, IGN have a brand new preview of the title, as well as a date - next week, right along with Capcom's Mega Man 9. The Xbox.com splash page has also updated, originally sporting a very old template.
There is a chance it still may not be out though - Zombie Wrangler's release date was announced by IGN, and said it was meant to be out last week, but it never showed up.
One of the most addictive and deceptively simple titles in the PopCap catalog is Peggle. The concept is simple. Destroy all orange orbs by shooting a ball into an open area. Think Plinko with orbs. Once you make the shot the ball bounces around the environment raking up points and combos for hitting -- and thus destroying -- all of the colored spheres in the environment. Sounds enthralling, doesn't it? Well, it is and soon Xbox 360 users are about to join in the fun.
In an interview with Uncle Gamer Radio, vice president of PopCap Games Greg Canessa announced the upcoming XBLA release of Peggle will hit the service for 800MS points ($10 USD). Need some perspective? When it originally launched on PC the title sold for $19.99. Additionally, Canessa finally revealed up to 4-players will be able to compete both locally and over Xbox Live. Peggle has yet to land a firm release date but Canessa did confirm the previously announced level packs will not be ready when the title ships unlike some other DLC. As long as they don't go all Lumines Live! on us, we're willing to listen.
The votes are in! The organizers of The PAX 10 today announced Twisted Pixels The Maw as winner of the 2008 Audience Choice award. The PAX 10, a showcase of ten independently developed games, were selected by a panel of 50 industry experts out of over 80 submissions as the best in terms of gameplay and fun factor.
The PAX 10 winners displayed their games at the 2008 Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), allowing attendees the opportunity to view each of the titles and cast their secret ballots, earning The Maw top honors for the inaugural year of the showcase event.
The PAX 10 winners were great to work with and were as busy as any other booth on the Expo Hall floor, said Penny Arcades Robert Khoo. Were happy that we could support these amazingly talented developers and want to thank everyone who voted for their participation.
The intense sense of purpose and camaraderie amongst The PAX 10 was astonishing, commented Michael Wilford of Twisted Pixel. We feel extremely lucky to have been chosen from such an august group and grateful to have been a part of the PAX experience.
The Maw is a 3D action-adventure game in which players take control of Frank, a simple alien that must partner up with The Maw, a cute little blob with an insatiable hunger. Players will need to harness The Maws unstoppable growth and incredible powers in order to help Frank find his way home. The game is expected to debut on Xbox LIVE Arcade in early Q1 2009 and has been rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and older by the Entertainment Software Rating Board for this platform.
The Xbox Live Arcade re-release of N64 classic Banjo-Kazooie will be up for download from November 26, Microsoft has confirmed.
The original N64 game arrives on XBLA two weeks after 360 entry Nuts & Bolts hits the shops, sharing links to the old game through the revamped "Stop 'n' Swop mode", which unlocks new goodies in Nuts & Bolts.
It's also been revealed that -as rumoured - the massively overlooked sequel Banjo-Tooie will also be hitting Xbox Live early next year, so there's a chance for those of you who missed it to have a go.
Both games will be yours for 1200 Microsoft points (about £9). And if you don't want to pay that, the pre-order campaign - which gives you a code to download Banjo for free before Nuts & Bolts' release - is still open for business.

Killer Instinct please...
Every other fighter on XBLA has performed well. Unless there's a hold up with Midway (arcade publisher) I don't see what the delay is.
That's completely false. Even the difference in rendering for N64 games on the Wii to 480p is amazing compared to their original low-resolution 3D. Plus, being rendered in your TV's native resolution will give it a crisp, clean look rather than a blurry look from upscaling.goldenpp72 said:rendering an n64 game in 1080p isn't exciting if the graphics aren't boosted to go along with it![]()
Sure, we have Monday morning Arcade announcements and Pick Up & Play that often features great Arcade games but now we're going one better. The XBLA team has decided to join our little dysfunctional family and will offer insights into their corner of the world. Seeing as most of them are just as crazy as us, I'm sure they'll fit in just fine.
Jason Ing: A Toronto, Canada native, Jason oversees XBLA Global Marketing. Previously, Jason worked in MGS Marketing.
Scott Berfield: XBLA Lead Producer and official team old guy.
Scott Austin: Biz guy for arcade. Happy to have such a sweet job.

You mad? It's like, £1.50 more expensive than a Virtual Console ROM dump would be.Dizzy said:Wow at Banjo. I love the game but unless it has major graphical improvements it's 400 points overpriced. Guess I'll leave it then.
Is the pre-order freebie available in the UK? I didn't think so but the website then mentions the game seems to imply that it is.

Banjo-Kazooie for Xbox LIVE Arcade will retail for 1200 Microsoft points, or $15 when it launches this November . However, there is still time to take advantage of the Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts pre-order offer. Those who pre-order Banjos latest adventure at participating retailers not only get Banjo-Kazooie Nuts & Bolts but also receive, a complimentary code to redeem Banjo-Kazooie, from Xbox LIVE Arcade nearly 2 weeks before its global release. Consumers who participate in this pre-order program receive the added benefit of getting their hands on the goodies that await to be unlocked in Stop N Swop Before anyone else.
Initially conceived for the original Nintendo 64 version of Banjo-Kazooie ten years ago, Stop N Swop will finally come to fruition on the Xbox 360. Stop N Swop is a feature that rewards players accomplishments in the Xbox LIVE Arcade game by unlocking extra content and features in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.
As if Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and Banjo-Kazooie werent enough, Banjo-Tooie is also heading to Xbox LIVE Arcade in early 2009, making Xbox 360 the new home of the beloved Banjo-Kazooie franchise.

Tenchu Coming to Live Arcade
Shadow Assault on the way.
by Erik Brudvig
September 26, 2008 - A page has been created on the official Tenchu site that reveals a new Tenchu game. Subtitled Shadow Assault, the Xbox Live Arcade game will support 1-4 players, cost 800 Microsoft points, and looks to have a Japan release date of October 8. If it indeed is just a few weeks away from releasing, we should be hearing much more about the game shortly.

New XBLA developement

I cant say much at all but Drew and I are working on some really sweet stuff right now. Our next project is very different from Poker Smash. Our engine has seen some massive upgrades and the things we can do now are much more advanced than what we could do before. When I can actually talk about the project I will post some more details.
Treasure Hunting

Both Drew and I are big into getting aspects of a treasure hunt into our next game Crackdown did a fantastic job of giving you that sense of seeing a goal but not allowing you to get there untill your character can jump just a little bit higher. There is nothing quite like that feeling of unlocking a skill and using it to get a treasure that you saw ages ago but could not get. The longer you have to wait to get a treasure the more exciting it is when you finally get to have it. There is a point of course where it takes too long and you forget about it. But finding just the right balance is key to making the system work.
War World will hit Arcade this Wednesday for 800 points.
