Lumines Live! is still not definite for Japan. Fingers crossed on that one. I'm not sure if I'd go for Scramble, but Time Pilot's a good game, so I'd get that. Texas Hold'em seems like it will be a great multi-player game too... but we need cameras, damn it!

Yes, but it's free. Silver Account. You get a free month of Gold (being able to play people online) when you sign up for the free account.

Worms for XBLA to be announced VERY soon

An announcement beckons now the name is agreed.

We just need to design the logo now.

Loads of exciting stuff happening at T17 towers, unfortunately none of which we can discuss. It does amuse me to know that people think we're not up to much whistling.gif) 2007 will be very interesting... funnily enough our 17th year...

Anybody know what the next 4 or 5 XBLA games are going to be?

I'm hoping they're Pacman, Ms.PacMan, and TimePilot. Is this correct, purchasing all 3 asap.

Aug 9: Pac-Man
Aug 16: Texas Hold-Em
Aug 23: Time Pilot
Aug 30: Scramble
Sep 6: Lumines Live!

But Labor Day is on the 4th, so I dunno... maybe two in one week?

Those are a nice group of games there. Please...PLEASE let Pacman be full screen.

Have you tried this mod beermonkey?

Here are my pics of sanded and unsanded 360 d-pad controls. The additional space between the pad and the collar prevents them from touching and my d-pad motions have definitely gained accuracy. I simply sanded by hand with course and then fine sandpaper. A dremel is likely to cause damage, you'll see once you disassemble your controller.

i'm sure this has been discussed somewhere, but I have now eclipsed 2.5 mil twice in geometry wars and it has not recorded my scores. there's no connection problems, I have the right controller and everything.

is there a fix to this?

Holy crap, I am currently eating crow. Some people HAVE gotten the Wave 100 achievement in Robotron and Joust. How they reached that far I have no clue, but they've done it. The "beat Smash TV in one credit" achievement still hasn't been achieved, but now I think... someone MIGHT actually pull it off.

The character from The Wizard really exists! Find him, so that I can exploit his skills for my own evil purposes.

Yeah, but did you eclipse 3.5 million?

I haven't had any issues with recording my scores in any of the XBLA titles. I need to get back to Geo Wars and climb into the top 1000 again.

Wow, I was checking the exact same thing out just right now! Talk about coincidences...

This is the guy I saw...

I just don't get Pac Man. The game is just way to complicated I guess. I cannot even get past level 4 without continuing. I always thought I was pretty good at Ms Pac but this seems a whole lot more difficult.

I was reading Egm and in the online this month section it listes Castlevania Symphony Of The Night listed as :online this month" that was the first time in years I saw something in egm I that I didn't already know about thanks to gaf. so what gives is this a real game then?

I thought that was an early next year thing?

So no new arcade game tomorrow?

Major Nelson said:
Allow me to clarify. Moving forward, when we release an Arcade title...it will happen on a Wednesday. The five-title 'Arcade Wednesday' kick off promotion ends today. That said, we have not made any announcements or specific dates for previously announced Xbox Live Arcade titles. More titles are coming we just have not said exactly when.

Anyone still holding out hope for the schedule from UK OXM? Seems unlikely.

I think when EGM does the "online this month" they actually mean "check out what's on 1up.com" this month. I suppose they anticipated it would be on the site by the time the issue was out.

Yeah, it's not looking good. I can't imagine they would release something with no promotion what's so ever.

It is too bad if the Wednesday thing doesn't continue. It was great to have some sort of schedule, something fun to look forward to mid-week.

And when Major Nelson says Arcade games will be released on Wednesdays, but not every Wednesday, how much sense does that make? If there's no schedule, why release it on a Wednesday? So you can get people checking every Wednesday, only sometimes they find nothing?

I don't really care all that much, I'm staying up tonight just to see what happens!

Does Symphony of the Night strike anyone else as a really weird choice for an XBLA game? I can't imagine them adding any multiplayer or anything, and what kind of leaderboards could you possibly have? It'll be great for people who haven't played the game before, but I'd much rather hear Konami announcing, say..Turtles in Time, Contra Hard Corps, etc. etc. A game that would really benefit from being online.

Although the Hold'em thread states this, I just want to say that this Wednesday (tomorrow) will NOT have an Arcade release. Hold'em will be coming out next Wedsday, and it will be free from Wedsday - Friday, to anyone who downloads it. Crazy. After that, it'll be 800 points.

The following releases will be Time Pilot the next week, and Scramble the week after. Both 400 points. The press release said nothing about Lumines :S

EDIT - the press release has been taken down. What this means I don't know.

SHUT YOUR MOUTH BEFORE YOU MAKE THEM CHANGE THEIR MIND!

Seriously though, no leaderboards or whatever, but who cares? They can put achievements in it like "Level 99 Sword Familiar" and that kinda thing to make it plenty cool. Besides, I own this on PS1 and I'd download it again just to have a 2nd copy of the game. Its a ****ing classic! I hope like hell this is true.

No question that its true, they announced it themselves. Early 2007 baby! Yeah it doesn't fit the "arcade" idea, but MS loves to appeal to the hardcore, and that's exactly what this does.

I'm so hardcore I already beat this game five million times and am not all that excited about doing it again for achievement points. Of course I will, but still...meh.

Microsoft has sent word today that the latest title to appear on Xbox Live, Texas Hold 'Em, will be available from Wednesday August 23rd, 6PM Australian Eastern Standard time. The entire game will be available for free for 48 hours only. On Friday August 25th, the game will be available for 800 Microsoft points, so make sure you log on within the next few days.

For the next few Wednesdays, it looks like we'll be recieving a few more games and premium content. Some Cloning Clyde picture packs will be downloadable from tonight as well, with each gamer picture pack costing 100 points. Time Pilot will be available on Wednesday August 30th for 400 points, and the classic but forgotten about title Scramble will become available on Wednesday September 6th and will also be priced at 400 points.

Free for the first 48 hours anyway.

Oh yeah, next week, still finally we've got confirmation it's going to be free, for 48 hours at least, bit hefty charging 800 points after 48 hours though.

My understanding is that it is free for the first 48 hours, so download it during that period and you won't have to pay for it. Seems pretty easy to me.
