While I'm sure this has been brought up before, I noticed something today I thought would be worth pointing out.
About a year ago, Prince of Persia Classic came out on XBLA. I'd never played PoP before so I was really into it. Today, for no reason in particular, I decided to check where I was on the leaderboard. To my surprise, I was much higher then I remembered.
For the heck of it, I decided to see the top score. It is much higher then the rest.
I thought something seemed fishy, but I gave the person the benefit of the doubt; maybe they were just THAT good. There are people out there who OBSESS about getting the best time possible. Curious how much better they were then me, I compared our scores...
...only to find that in most of the levels, I performed much better. Even weirder, the person scored 0 points in a level and the majority of their points on just one level. I then checked the times.
Only to find the level he scored over 2 billion points in took him 4 seconds longer then me to beat! This is especially strange because the level mostly consists of two bosses.
While the ghost for the level he scored 0 points in was not available, the one he scored 2 billion+ was.
He started the level off pretty slow. Even after not playing for over a year, after a couple tries I flew right by him to the boss. After I beat the level and didn't notice the ghost doing anything odd, I tried it again; this time watching the ghost fight the bosses.
He didn't seem to perform particularly well against the first boss (Jafar); he must have been hit 3-4 times. For those who haven't played it, you can tell when the second boss starts since there is a cutscene in between, with the Prince standing still. I could be wrong about this, but it seemed to me that he killed the second boss with
ONE hit. The rest of the run looked pretty normal, so that seems like the only explanation to me.
Is it fairly certain he glitched the game? Has anyone else come across odd leaderboard scores before?
