Outrun 2 looks amazing, but I'd say it's only faults is some of the textures look crappy or out of place. Like the bridge in the second stage of E route, but I think this is just like the Arcade or Xbox versions. Everything else is gorgeous.

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of jaggies all over the place :(

please tell me peggle or dishwasher or something like that is hitting this week along with watchmen?

@dcard. cant you combine both? im sure you could come up with some inventive story as to why you play in both the future and a fantasy world :)

which do you think would be better for business, if they mapped out releases a month or three ahead (they could do a seasonal calendar at the end of each season for the upcoming one) or if they left things as they are and let us know (in most cases) a few days before the games themselves actually hit the marketplace?

i don't think they can really build hype for a game without locking a release date down, people tend to forget about a game when the release date is in limbo.

Well, standard procedure for just about every DDS is to not announce an actual release date until it is actually locked down, unfortunately that tends to be done very near the release of a game, not always, but the publisher tend to err on the side of caution due to getting burned when a game slips past its slated release date.

true.

update from the things on wheels dev blog on things on wheels,

January 20th.

Lots of you are asking us where ToW is.
Thanks for asking, we love getting attention, even if we always want more.
Well ToW is finished and pretty much ready for resubmission at Microsoft, but we're dealing with a few hickups that should not change a thing in the future experience you'll have playing this fantastic game.
Thanks for being patient, we promise our next XBLA game will be on your HD faster!
Cheers,
DenisDenis.

Hm. Guess that finally confirms that challenge mode didn't make the cut into Outrun Arcade.

Too bad. Oh well.

I'm still planning to triple dip.

Much appreciated. We've got some new videos up of our new game, Ares Fall.

Gorgeous. I hope you keep the sci-fi theme. It makes the game feel a little more unique and catches my interest more. No longer seems like 'another Diablo clone.'

I'm more saddened it's based on Coast to Coast. I didn't like the slipstream mechanic at all. With random traffic patterns, it made it more about luck than skill.

If it weren't for the ultra-expensive SF4 TE arcade stick ($190 CDN)...I would guess that I'm going to be spending nearly the same amount of money on XBLA/XBCG/PSN/Steam as I am on retail releases.

With Outrun and VOOT coming, and the rumour of Chu Chu Rocket coming to XBLA...someone at SEGA woke up and said, "Hey, why don't we start printing money?". :P

The Peter Moore Achievement 8
Pay homage to one of our generation's greatest rock performances ever.
So I guess you have to pause the game in the middle of a performance, then?

Indeed that is what The Vintage Collection is for, people as still going to buy Sonic 3 and company even though it is all in the Megadrive Collection.

We passed!
February 27, 2009 by James

achieve

We did it! We passed cert!

Here’s some random (rough) statistics:

* Total development time: 2+ years
* Active bugs closed: 500+
* Builds submitted: 50
* Pre-cert milestone builds passed: 5
* Pre-cert milestone builds failed: Probably 5!
* Cups of coffee consumed: 2200
* Times thought project was doomed: 81020
* Times decided to have faith project would succeed against terrible odds: 81020
* Dev kits red ringed: 1

Amazing!

I don’t know when it will go live (and thanks for asking, all!) and when I do I’ll still have to keep mum, but now that we’re officially through certification, I’m sure your guess will be as good as mine.

http://www.talkingaboutgames.com/ne...e-coming-to-xbla-in-mid-march-says-ngai-croal

Been wondering when Peggle for the Xbox Live Arcade is coming out? So have we. After our interview with Greg Canessa last year in which he promised a 2008 release, we found ourselves in a state of depression as the change of year came and went with no sign of Popcap's gloriously addictive casual game.

But it looks like the game's arrival is near, and the news of its impending Arcade launch comes courtesy of... Twitter? Yes, you heard that right. The social networking tool which lets you detail your life in 140 character spurts isn't just being used for spoiling the details of last night's episode of Heroes anymore. Major names in the industry use the service, and that includes N'Gai Croal.

In an update to his Twitter feed (shown above), the Newsweek scribe commented this afternoon on a visit to his office from Popcap's Canessa, showing off Peggle in advance of its mid-March release on the Xbox Live Arcade. It looks like the wait is finally over. Peggle may finally be arriving in a matter of weeks. And not a moment too soon.

Well, I am just warning you, not having a firm release date might get your thread locked.

Oh, also that Lode Runner interview is about the Level Editor, online level sharing has been confirmed.

oh if i do make it i'm not making it until we're at most a week out from actual release. hence the "semi-incoming." i did not mean to arouse confusion

I am hoping for Galactrix next week (3-11) and Peggle the week after (3-18). It sounds like Galactrix is already cert-approved, they're just waiting on the right release window from MS. If Peggle is mid-March, that sounds like the 18th. Galactrix PSN/XBLA was supposed to release "shortly thereafter" of the NDS/PC launch.

Would anyone mind posting so great XBLA games. I need something to hold me over till RE5 and am interested in buying one. Currently I only own Castle Crashers and Geometry Wars 2. I love both of those games and I am not really picky when it comes to genre (just no puzzle games) so just let me know your favorites. (I thought I'd ask here instead of starting a whole thread about it)

Thanks

And half of those titles will probably be delayed until next year or be forgotten completely. Bleh, I wish Microsoft would just release games as soon as they're certified. And perhaps make that process faster as well.

Solsc said:
Rez is awesome but I read it was extremely short so not worth the 800pts.
jesus this is as wrong as you can get. it was easily worth it when i paid retail for the PS2 version, and at 800 points it's probably the deal of the century.
