That is not an arcade game. It is the new retail title based on the Pixar Cars franchise.
 
This might be old and disregard if it is, but this week Target is giving away $5 gift cards for every 1600 point XBLM card you buy. I picked up five. :)

It's be like buying Marvel vs. Capcom 2 or Shadow Complex for $11.25. :)

South Park's XBL Arcade Game Is…South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!

Microsoft proudly announced a South Park-themed game was coming exclusively to Xbox Live Arcade at E3 2008, but no details on the game have been released since. The project isn't dead, though; in fact, it's being revealed at Comic-Con and Microsoft's let the cat out of the bag a little early while outlining their lineup. The game's called South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play!

No, we're not joking.

South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play! will launch on Xbox Live Arcade on October 7, coinciding with the debut of new South Park episodes on Comedy Central. Few other details are available, but simply knowing the genre provides some pretty distinct possibilities for the game.

Metalocalypse: Dethgame

Now comes the videogame, to be announced later this week by Cartoon Network and Konami at San Diego Comic-Con. Brendon Small, the show’s creator, worked with Konami to produce “Metalocalypse: Dethgame” as a downloadable title for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3. Wisconsin-based developer Frozen Codebase will be the developer.

In addition to extending plot of the show, the game follows a band of roadies fighting in the service of Dethklok, a five-member heavy metal band which tours the world and menaces its adoring fans with songs like “Briefcase Full of Guts.” That music will also serve as a back drop for a game.

Is there still a guy out there selling Microsoft Points for $30 bucks a pop? I've been hunting around for those old links but it seems like everything out there is at $50 now. :(

I'm pretty sure the big pile of stolen cards dried out about 10 days ago.

There's still a buncha of those 1600 cards for 15 usd, but nobody is buying them.
 
Something a bit interesting, So most of the codes bought from the Ebay thing(the 4000 for 30$) turned out to be stolen, generated outside legal means, or bought at vast discounts. And Paypal/Ebay been closing them all down it(Not allowed to sell digital codes regardless), The final ones being the two stores who were selling individual game codes both are now empty. So most likely this era is over.

Funny thing is, One of them used Google Checkout, in which cased refund all the cash to people who bought from the user. They just up and refunded everything. So people who bought from him ended up making out with 4k,8k, and even more for free.

OK, how bad does this look. They redrew the main character sprites, but the bonus items are all upscaled? What a crock of shit. Also, eww, the font is disgusting. But as long as the gameplay is intact, I'll be there day one.

Any idea what week in Summer of Arcade (or Winter of Arcade as it is called here) it will be released?
 
So the south park game is going to be a tower defense game? That is fantastic... and watching that video suggests that we are talking about a 4 player co-op game?

I became quite worried after the 4000 points codes started to pop-up. I really like that 2 sellers with the game codes (I suspect they are bought at large discounts from Amazon, since they only had the games Amazon have) and that kind of exposure would surely kill their business sooner or later.

When, I got like 20 games from them in the last month and would get some more this month if they will be still in business (no hope).

Can you elaborate about this refund thing? I payed all the games with Paypal. But since I got all the codes, I wouldn´t ask for a refund.

The average price of Xbox Live Arcade games on the Xbox 360 has risen by a $1.74 since the Xbox 360 launched in November of 2005, according to Kotaku's study of prices for more than 200 XBLA games.

Microsoft's annual Summer of Arcade promotion begins today, a five-week event designed to draw attention to new top-flight Xbox Live Arcade games, such as Splosion Man and Shadow Complex. We don't yet know how good these games will be — though we have high hopes. What we do know is that they, as is the trend with XBLA games, will contribute to the rising price tag of games on Microsoft's downloadable service.

Kotaku's Andrew Freedman and I pulled launch prices for the more than 200 Xbox Live Arcade games released since the 360's launch. At the top of this post, you'll see a chart that shows how the average price for downloadable XBLA games on the system has risen steadily in the past 46 months. (Note: The Xbox.com online marketplace lists the launch games for the 360 as being released in October of 2005 even though the system debuted in North America in November. For consistency's sake, we've started our chart at October of that year.)

The average price of an XBLA game in the 360's first month was just under 600 points at about $7.31. That has risen to more than 700 points as of last week, or $9.05. And that's not counting how the average will likely rise again during the Summer of Arcade. Four of the five games offered for the new promotion will run 1200 points.

The second chart Andrew and I made shows which prices have been popular, and which are going out of style. The days of games released for 400 points ($5) are nearly over. The 1200-point price ($15) is increasingly common.

The size of games offered through XBLA has increased over the years. Several top-quality titles, including Geometry Wars, Braid and Battlefield: 1943 have garnered acclaim.

But if you thought that XBLA was becoming a more expensive service, you're not imagining things.

Plants vs. Zombies is an all-new action-strategy game from PopCap, known for Bejeweled and Peggle! Zombies are invading your home, and the only defense is your arsenal of plants! Comic-Con is not the only event currently being held, at the Casual Connect in Seattle we met with PopCap's Garth Chouteau who revealed to us that P vs. Z is coming to XBLA, but did not elaborate any further on whether we can expect extras such as achievements, multiplayer or even a release date.

Critics have repeatedly lauded Defense Grid’s excellent game balance, pace and progression. With each level, players encounter different placement of roads, tower build locations, and open areas to plan a strategy around. Each map, whether open plan or fixed route, encourages a different strategy, such as trying to find an optimal path to redirect enemies, making the best use of limited space, and breaking up individual enemy waves to avoid being overwhelmed, all while planning ahead for future waves.

There are 10 different tower types that can each be upgraded twice. These towers all have unique tradeoffs that affect ideal placement, such as line-of-sight attack or ballistic trajectory fire; a large area of effect or damage over time; and minimum and maximum ranges. Over the course of the game, players battle 15 different types of enemies, each with unique capabilities and strategies.
