FateBreaker said:Rlan, Zeno Clash has 1,057.
A damn shame.
Dr. Zoidberg said:I think those leaderboards are for the extra modes though, not for the regular SP portion, which is all most people are going to play.
That said, did anyone really expect Zeno Clash to sell? It seems like a good game but it just has too many strikes against it. It's freaky looking and odd, has a 1200 MSP pricetag, and many of the hardcore gamers that might have given it a second look already bought it on Steam during one of it's $5 sales.
toythatkills said:To be honest though, they are pretty pointless, though I wouldn't say so in those words.
The latter. The amount of people playing the game is a good indicator of the kind of numbers of sales, but it's by no means exact and shouldn't really be sold as such. Castle Crashers, for example, which encourages co-op play. I imagine there's a far higher percentage of people on that leaderboard that are playing on a friends Xbox than, say, the number of people playing Darwinia+ at a friends.Stumpokapow said:are you saying that sales charts are pointless, or are you saying that leaderboard charts are flawed enough that they're pointless as sales charts?
I state this sort of thing quite clearly in the analysis. There are plenty of games i can't track (marvel Vs Capcom, Magic TG etc) which is why i use the Major Nelson Top 20 as well. If I can't follow the game itself, i can follow those games surrounding it.toythatkills said:The latter. Do MS make mistakes much on xbox.com listings? Major Nelson has said 800 but the 1200listing is scarying me a bit and it wouldn't at all surprise me.

Zombie Cow Studio has announced the development of Privates, a new PC and Xbox 360 twin-stick shooter in which players lead a gang of tiny condom-hatted marines as they delve into peoples' vaginas and bottoms. Yes, this is a real game.
"Privates is a totally crazy concept. It's very exciting to finally be able to reveal what were up to," said Dan Marshall, founder of Zombie Cow Studios. "We're exploring some pretty unique gaming environments and themes I can honestly say I cant imagine you've ever played anything quite like it."
Marshall added: "Channel 4 have been awesome in giving us a load of money and then keeping pretty quiet no matter how filthy and objectionable the content became. It's gone really well."
Privates features five levels of bug-busting action across a variety of 3D locations, with a fully-voiced comedy script.
Privates will be offered as a free download from the Channel 4 and E4 websites. The Xbox 360 version will, however, probably cost "a little bit of money".

But everyone has a different opinion, in those kinda threads, almost half the XBLA library ends up getting mentioned. What I did was go though the entire marketplace list and download demos for ones I had any interest for.

We got our first look at Ancients of Ooga back at this year's Game Developer's Conference, but now we've got an early version here in the IGN office to spend some quality time with. This is the next game from NinjaBee, developer of Cloning Clyde and Band of Bugs. It stars a merry band of cavemen -- the Ooganis -- that have been tricked into slavery by evil creatures called the Boolis. Recognizing the error of their ways, the Ooganis must set things right with your help using a slew of special powers. Players actually control a spirit body that can leap from caveman to caveman, controlling their actions. From what we've played so far, Ancients of Ooga is looking like a fun puzzle platformer.
You'll be making your way to each Oogani village, possessing the cavemen in order to complete the objectives in each stage. Some of the Oogani aren't quite convinced you're the real deal, yet, and will need to be convinced before they'll allow you to possess them. At any time you can hold the left trigger to call up a map of the area and see where you need to head -- a welcome feature. You can also exit your current host body and float around the level, getting the lay of the land.
Click here to see Ancients of Ooga in action.
The Oogani can pick up all matter of item they find lying around. Rocks, torches, food, other Oogani Not only can they carry them around, they can stick them in their mouths. You can stuff more than one object in your mouth, and indeed it proves to be a useful way of carrying things (or Oogani) around.
You can move your character back and forth from background to foreground, a feature we're not sure is necessary. It can make hitting a switch difficult at times and so far we haven't encountered any instances where this depth of field added to the game. Seems like it might have been a better choice to lock us to a 2D plane, but we'll have to see if our opinions change after we make our way deeper into the game.
The Oogas voices are represented by snorts, burps, and grunts, reminding us of Banjo Kazooie. The exaggerated, cartoon caricatures might also have something to do with it. They certainly have a lot of personality. In between levels an Oogani dances around a fire, telling the story of his people.
Ancients of Ooga will include online leaderboards for players to compare scores. You earn points for completing levels, dying as few times as possible, and collecting items.

I won't be happy until dev's who remake their older games understand what made their old titles so unique and great, and why the fans still love them, rocket knight xbla is throw away compared to the original.RobbieNick said:Played the demo. Had an absolute blast!! Very fun. Between Rocket Knight and Sonic 4 threads, I'm starting think to many people on GAF are too jaded to play classic remakes unless they're perfect representations of their originals down to 16-bit graphics. This game is fun!! Sonic 4, with the exception of some flaws, (mainly mine cart and homing attack) looks fun. I wish more people would just relax and have fun with a game instead of examining and nitpicking everything to death.
I agree that normal mode is for babies. Hard mode is perfect. Two long levels makes a good size demo. Will buy this when I get paid tomorrow. Can't wait for Snoopy Flying Ace.
