Jes, just wanted to check back with you... so what's our status on Karate Champ now? we good to go yet?

Sorry guys, I can't comment on Arcade related things for the forseeable future.

I would say Outpost Kaloki X is my favorite Live Arcade title at the moment. I'm addicting to this simulation game! I'll have to get the full version in the next couple days.

I bought Geometry Wars, the game is twice as fun with acheivements to earn. Not only does it set you a solid goal, but there is one challenge "passive" where you have to not die during the first minute without shooting a single bullet. Getting that one was SO MUCH FUN! I hope most games have more challenges like that, but mostly all I've seen has been "beat this stage" and "collect this many points". More crazy challenges!

And crazy doable, not Hexic HD's "random fucking luck if you can set this up" crazy.

You just gave me the best reason to buy the game now.

Also that Smash tv glitch owns. Too bad it doesn't get me achievements. Anyone know where I can buy a gamerpoints card? Best buy or gamestop selling them yet?

LakeEarth, how in the bloody hell did you get 1.1 million in Geometry Wars?! My best is 150,000. Yikes. Share some tips!

Survive. Have a very itchy R trigger finger because that that thing will save your life time and time again. Survive as long as you can to continually build and build your multipliers, so eventually you're getting a new free man every 30 seconds or so. At 7x, those round "vortex" things give almost 10000 points if you destroy them when they are about to explode. Keep moving and never ever EVER lose track of your little guy. If you do, just bomb it. Now don't overdo the bombing, only when you're about to die no question. Or if you see a million purple box things show up at the same time and surround you, those things kill me the most. When you get surrounded, drill a hole in it and sneak through it cause if you get too surrounded you die, but you can't stay near the sides because that's where most things spawn. Its a balancing act really.

I don't know if I'll ever get the "multiplier x 10" achievement, even the guy with 2.2 million doesn't have that.

That's a shame. I hope it wasn't because of this thread, because you've done more to interest me in XBL Arcade in the last few weeks than Microsoft have done in the last six months :(

Sorry I didn't accept you in time. We'll play another day.

So did anyone figure out why Smash TV kicks you out of co-op every while? Is there a set amount of continues it doesn't display? I can't get passed the second level because of it.

Yeah I was playing with this guy and we both died. Suddenly it was over. I'm assuming they give you a set amount of continues.

LakeEarth whats your strategy on Geometry wars? I swear I'm pulling some matrix type shit just to reach 200,000 alone. I use up all my bombs by the time I hit 240,000. Always so close to hitting 250,000 =( .

I hate those sperm looking things, they ruin my concentration.

The main trick is to live as long as you can on a single man to keep your multiplier up. You'll be getting freemen every 30 seconds if you get your multiplier up to 7x and can keep it. Try to destroy those black holes whenever you can, their sucking up ability can help but its not worth relying on. The blue, green, and purple things can't outrun you, so if you're running around the sides, just keep shooting in the direction your going, or pretty much anytime you're surrounded just drill a hole and get through it. Shoot at the ones following you when you get the chance but only the red ships can actually be fast enough to chase you. When those tiny bugs start coming out, great, they are awesome for building multiplier, but if there are still a lot of normal enemies on the screen when they start popping out, it will cause problems so you might want to bomb it when you need to. Never lose track of your guy, I know its easy to lose him in the light show, but if you lose track of him just bomb it. You need to know where you are at all times, so you can see holes to drill yourself through when you're in a tight spot.

When those worm things surround you, kill one or two on one side and go through the hole, shooting the rest. They're slow so you'll probably kill them all before they get close to you. They can be annoying though, but they're good points. I find the tiny purple pieces easy to run into without seeing, and those red ships can be a major pain when you're going up and down the screen since you have less time to see them then if you were going left or right.

Now that I finally got the Quartermaster achievement (the store 9 bombs one), I can finally get over my "don't use my bombs when I'm in shit" problem I've been having lately. The other day I got up to 650000 points on my first man, but didn't even get over a million because I wanted the 9 bombs achievement and ended up not even getting 800000 with my 9 men I had amassed.

My only problem with the game is how the gun randomly changes. They both have their advantages, but sometimes you're relying on the one type of gun when it suddenly changes randomly to the other. When you have your multiplier up to 7x or 8x, that thing is like switching every 10 seconds and it gets annoying. I love it otherwise.

Does the gun get better or worse?
I always try to hit 100,000 without dying. Once I hit 200,000 I'm pulling miracles with my ship avoiding everything like LT of the Chargers. I guess I should work on staying alive with more bombs then. Everytime I play its either the pink boxs or red ships that kill me and ruin my score.

The gun only has "spread" mode and "rapid-fire" mode, and it just switches. Every 10000 points it'll re-decide which weapon to have, 50/50 it switches or it keeps the one you got. In tight situations you really want rapid-fire so it really sucks when you lose it. The spreader is good against taking out about to explode black holes, but most of the time I really want the rapid-fire. I just hate needing the one weapon when it suddenly changes to the other.

Just survive as long as you can, and even if you die, don't get flustered, you can still get your multipliers up. Don't give up and keep on flying. I feel like going around the sides of the board helps prevent you from getting badly cornered, but runs the risk of you running into something just spawning. But when I'm in trouble but not 'need to use the bomb' trouble, I tend to just go around and around the sides of the board, shooting in the direction I'm moving , shooting at the ones chasing me when there's no one in front of me, constantly looking for a hole to sneak my way through so I can re-position myself to whereever's best at the time. Don't look at your score, and hope to god no one comes online at a crucial moment.

Just had to share:

Hey all

I wanted to try out Ghost Recon 2:SS on XBL. Currently don't have access to free 2 month subscription. Anyone have one lying around they don't need? I would really appreciate it. PM me if you do. If not, thanks anyways! :)

What game is that, Outpost Kaloki X?

Yeah. That is the leaderboard for the last level of the story mode.

Edit: Woot! I just became #1 on the Eight Port Challenge scenario also.

I learned with a quickness to turn off my notifications when I play. :lol

Thanks for reminding me. I gotta do that myself.

LakeEarth! I could've beat your Hight score in Smash TV if I hadn't missed the Paradise round or whatever its called. I accidently went straight to the Boss instead of down.
=(

Anyway, Mrbob we need to work on those achievements for Gauntlet.

PS- Billiards arcade is a ripoff. Good thing I saved my credits.

Actually I didn't either. I was actually bored by the 10 minute round that I just let myself die and continually run into people with the shield, die and repeat. Up until the boss, of course. I honestly didn't care about my score when I got it, sorry to tell you :D

Outpost Koloki X demo rox! Need to get the full version soon.

Just bought Geomotry Wars last night. The game is crazy fun. I can't get higher than 181K though. Every time I get over 150K everything gets too crazy and I can't seem to hold it together. I don't know how some of you get 500K+ points!

Is it just me or is the Smash TV score shown just what you get on your first credit? I finished the Pleasure Dome round and I still have a tiny score.

I believe it takes your score and then divides it by how many credits you used.

Skilllssssss.

The score that gets placed on the leaderboards is based on default settings, with one credit. So, if you use up all your lives and continue, the score you had when you died is basically your high score for Live.

You can keep playing as long as you want since you have unlimited continues, your score just won't be eligible for the leaderboard. Also, the achievements for the game can still be unlocked if you use more than one continue.

So what your saying is that if I just survive as long as I can without using a continue I can get the high score?
Sweet. I'll do that since it gets boring going through the game again.

Yup. Which makes it even more amazing that the top guy on the leaderboard has a score of like 5+ million. That dude is a master.

Smash TV co-op offline works, and you can play through the whole game with the bug I found.

We did it over the weekend. It was fun.

Now that Smash TV is out of my way. Bring on the TOTAL CARNAGE!

Deathtanx....where are you? =/

EDIT - I'd pay 2,000 M$ points for DeathTanx than pay 1,200 for a crappy ver. of Billiards.

You know Billiards is worth each and every penny!

I also would like to know when we will get some updates on when new games will be out.

Seriously i would....

Atleast put Texas Hold Em', or is that already on there?
