Major Nelson just posted the top 10 Live games for the week - MBU came in at #10, the first Live Arcade game to make the chart. It must be doing some good numbers.

Those COD 2 stats kind of sadden me. I doubt they will fix the XBL portion if that many players are playing.

Keep in mind that list is for people that are merely logged into Live. They could be playing single or multiplayer. COD2 sold a ton, so it's going to be way up there regardless.
 
Can't say I'm too excited if those are the only games being released this month.

Hopefully SF2 and Texas Holdem are defiantely put up in March.

BlimBlim how long do you usually test games before they are officially released? If you atleast have a few weeks of testing prior to their release then you should be seeing those games soon, correct? That's assuming they will hit the Marketplace before the end of March ofcourse.

That a game is on the debug XBLA means nothing. MBU has been there since day one for example (in a much less polished form though). and of course third party games may not even go through the debug XBLA and be released directly. I simply don't know.
I check the debug about 2/3 times a week to see if there is new stuff. Sometimes I see some test download content, just a dummy file, but still it's interesting to see that there was one for PGR3 a few weeks ago.

Hexic HD was on the list the first few weeks after launch ;).
 
I want an f-zero type game on Arcade with online multiplayer. and no weapons please.. purely racing. I think it's the perfect platform for such a game. futuristic racers are rather cheap to develop and dont normally sell very well as standalone games.
 
Got Orange Belt and 4x in Mutant Storm today. Anyone else get stopped at room 48? Some of you are higher score than me so probably not lolz :(

That fukin generators pretty walled in.

Friday morning I got beat Adventure mode (which upped me to yellow belt) and then I got orange belt and 4x.

I fucking love the game. It's better than GW imo.
 
I have a place in my heart for both. How did you only get yellow beating adventure mode? You dont get free lives that often, and death is th eonly thing that sets you back right? Or did you start at a late level in the game?

Well I shut it off for the night then continued from level 80. When you beat the game, it brings you back to level 1 but there's a (2) next to each level number. And I think it automatically boosts you to the next belt when you beat it. I got orange by playing through that for a while and just eventually hit 200% (then died).
 
Id rather they not allow open submission of games to live, there needs to be quality control so we ALWAYS get our moneys worth with games like Geo Wars, Mutant Storm, and Marble Blast.
 
It's funny how completely different Geometry Wars and Mutant Storm are. Many people tar them with the same brush because of the control, but the gameplay is quite different, and experience in one won't really help you in the other. E.g. I've got black belt in Mutant Storm now, but I still can't get 500k in Geometry Wars. They both require just as much dedication to improve.

That said, I think Geometry Wars' achievements are probably easier to attain than the final Mutant Storm headfuck achievement. 165 gamerpoints for life! :(

The whole "play Adventure Mode through to 89 on Black Belt" deal?

Here's my question: does that have to be without a game over, because that really is almost unfairly impossible.

If it works like the normal mode and once you get to a checkpoint, you can just start back there, then I can see people doing it. I know you automatically have access to all stages with new belts though, after you beat the game once, so I dunno.

Yes but this drought has already been going on for 3 months with only DOA 4 (an originally scheduled launch title) releasing during that span. Even the Arcade games since launch have been non-existant, which is inexcusable. The only decent one released since Nov 22nd is Marble Blast Ultra, which I don't even like. In recent days I've gone back and forth on if I should just sell this thing and use that money to get a 6th PS3 at launch for eBay. They promised us a steady stream of games and we've got absolutely nothing for 3 months.

Unfortunately, I traded in my PS2 and Xbox back in October. All I have currently is my 360 and an 800 mhz celeron monster.

Another PS3 at launch = another $400 - $500 profit off eBay. But at the same time, I don't want to miss out on good 360 and Arcade games. There just hasn't been any for 3 months (on 360 or XBLA), which has really killed any interest I had left for this system. What else has there been besides Marble Blast since Nov. 22nd? Three months, nothing. I mean damn, a poker game, checkers/chess, 3D mini-golf, anything -- how hard would it have been to port a few games like that for Arcade during this stretch? People can make flash games like those in a week.

What has there been released for the past 3 months besides Marble Blast and a fighting game that got delayed and was supposed to be a launch title? I'm really feelin' Live Arcade and the potential it has but right now it's a huge dissapointment. Street Fighter 2 next month, that's about it.

MS said there would be a 'steady stream of games' during the launch window (which was 90 days). They said there would be new releases in December and January. All we have got is a delayed launch title, DOA 4. I believed them and they lied. At least we could've got some Arcade games... something to do.

and on arcade they released Smash TV, Backgammon, Spades, Hearts, Wik, Marble Blast, Crystal quest and like 5 outpost kaloki expansions

Thank God for GRAW, eh? If it wasn't for those new videos, I would've ebayed my 360 a couple of weeks ago. GRAW + Oblivion are the best titles listed there in my opinion... the rest don't interest me/are ports/look like shit. SF2 for Arcade should be money. But yeah, thank God for GRAWWWRRRRRRRR.

You sold your PS2 (which is insane in itself), got a 360 and are thinking of selling it 3 months later because it doesn't have a lot of games coming out.

Welcome to EVERY SINGLE SYSTEM EVER. That's what happens. PS2, GC, Xbox, DS, PSP = crap after the launch for a few months.

Has there ever been a system that hasn't had a drought of games at some point in its life cycle? I can't recall any. The PSP is a prime example of this. I just recently downloaded Mutant Storm Reloaded and it's not a bad game. While it's nowhere in the same league as Geometry Wars, it's a decent game. Gameplay is quite a bit different, so it complements Geometry Wars nicely. I think I'll be playing Geometry Wars for a long, long time. It is such a great game and you can keep improving and improving your skills in that game. I just recently got 1.4 million! Woot!
