Nah, I'm still on 56K. But I can use the service. I managed to play Joust, though a 3D game would probably present huge difficulties over Live. I was just talking about the game in general.

IMO it's WAY too short for $10. Only 60 levels (compared to 100 for other versions of Marble Blast), and the first 20 levels are so unchallenging that they barely even count.

IMO, your full of crap. The game is only $10. How many hours do you expect to get? Personally, I know I've logged at least 15 hours into the game and I'm still not finished (still several Easter Eggs to get and a few levels I'm over par). That's being very conservative with my time estimate.

It's a very fun game and worth every penny. It probably grabbed me more than the typical gamer, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. So far it's my favorite XBL game. Also, I'm certain we will see more content for MBU from Garage Games. I know the game has been very successful for them.

There's an Official MBU thread somewhere that should have quite a few impressions for you.
 
He's not irritable, MBU is JUST THAT GOOD!

60 levels last a while, especially the last few. Then when you're done with that, finding the easter eggs is pretty fun. Then after that? Beat your old times, figure out how someone can beat level 60 in less than a minute :S

worth every penny. i was one that hated the demo levels, but the game gets much deeper when you unlock the rest. it's also pretty fun trying to get all the easter eggs. sure, they're a bitch but very challenging if you're into that. lots of replay value. and for a measly 800 points.
 
I HATE HATE HATE that MS doesn't let you completely customize the dashboard themes. So much for personalizing your console.
 
Can't you use your photos for themes? And also, I don't know how deep it is, but there is a "Custom" option in "Themes" and you can do all kinds of crazy shit with it.

Yeah, photos can be used for themes. But I think he's referring to individual blades, which you can't alternate photos on. (Premade themes have multiple pictures)

It's okay, I almost bought some of those Ridge Racer 6 music tracks. I was at the confirm screen before I realized what I was doing, made all the sillier as I've got the Ridge Racers soundtrack :(
 
Something interesting I've learned about DOA 4....they must have intentionally made the single player mode shit so that you're forced to go online in order to get any enjoyment out of the game (and I have in spades.) What's up with the final boss and no easy mode for scrubby folks who just want to unlock costumes (like me?)

And does anyone know if they're planning on adding more maps to Marble Blast soon? Possibly in the March update?
 
Normally I wouldn't propose something like this but do any GAFers feel like going for the "To the moon and back" achievement in Hardwood Spades with me some time?

The achievement requires that you shoot the moon twice in a single game (shooting the moon = getting all of the tricks in a hand). I've never seen anyone ever shoot the moon even once in either real life or in this game. That all by itself is almost impossible, but the odds of being able to do it twice in a single game are really impossible.

It seems to me that you wouldn't be able to shoot the moon twice without some kind of a coordinated effort between all of the players.

I didn't want to go about getting the achievement this way but I can see no way around it.

I'm not quite sure I follow. Why would they screen for offensive material if you're just using the theme on your Xbox? Of course, it'd be a different matter entirely if you were selling a custom theme on the Marketplace, but I think we were just talking about customizing a theme for personal use.

I was assuming that some custom avatars would be part of your theme package.
 
Holy crap, I almost got to 3 million points in Geo Wars! It seemed so easy to get to 2.8million, but then I looked at the score and thought "Wow, I might make it to 3 million!". After that I lost all my 7 lives in an instant and died with 2,9 million... :(

i've come to the conclusion that the way that i'm wired physically & mentally is why i can never be good at geometry wars

i've tried all of the techniques people mention; going in circles, always firing in front of you, etc, i've also watched a couple of videos

result? 172k all-time high score...

weird thing about that score is that i got it within a week of when i got my 360...like a month ago, and at that time i didn't know you could blow up the gravity circles... and now that i know that you can just rush at them firing and they blow up i can't even get 150k.....messed up

it seems like as soon as i hit 100k, i die like 3-4 times in a span of a minute or two and then game over...

so that's why i think it's just the way i'm made up physiologically...

Seriously tho once I hit 360 I went back to lame 200k mode.

Is there suppose to be some easy way to get your multiplier back up because as soon as I die its GG. You cant get your score up for shit without a good multiplier, and i hate those pink things with every iota of my existence
 
I thought getting to 100,000 was a big deal in GeoWars before I got into the 600,000 score range. Now, it seems like 1Mill is so far far away. :) Love the game though.

I am with you. I just plain suck at this game, but I love it. I am having more fun with Mutant Storm as it feels like tempest which I played to death.
 
I've played around with the demos of Wik and Outpost Kaloki today..

Both seemed to have a lot of character, but I couldn't really get into Wik even though I completed the demo.. And the font in Kaloki seemed waay to small.
Any comments on the full versions of these two games?

XBLA is most definately great though.. Can't wait for the all new games..

I'm pretty sure the XBLA team is still on the originally planned schedule which is 3-5 games per month. Greg Canessa (sorry if I butchered name) was trying to get more people and funds for the XBLA team so they could double production. I would imagine that they are still ramping up the team and we won't see higher production output until May.
 
Deservedly so, it's digital crack. - Even MrsVennt is addicted to playing it, and shes only ever shown a liking towards puzzlers before, now that is an achievement.
 
I hope some new games are coming this week. :P Wouldn't be surprised to see them try and sneak the final two Feb. releases into Monday or Tuesday of the next, though.

Cool. I like those simple Pop Cap games (of which Zuma was one).

I was hoping that free Texas Hold 'Em would be hitting at some point soon, but who knows.
 
Three games in a week? Cool. Let's hope there's a GRAW or Burnout demo coming shortly too. This could be a good week and a half. :P
