I just started the demo of Cloning Clyde and I'm loving the title's humor. If it keeps this up, I'll buy it once I hit the end...

Dear Clyde,

Kicking chickens is awesome. It doesn't help up get out of here, but it's really fun!

Love,
Karate Clyde

Dear Clyde,

I just played this reall cool game called 'Outpost Kaloki X.' If you haven't checked it out yet, you should!

Have fun,
Clyde

Hahahahaha, this stuff is great. The notes alone are brimming with personality.

Dear Clyde,

Apparently they clones the Killer Kenn action figure that we had in our back pocket too. Score!! If we find all of them we'll have a great collection. And I bet we get bonus points too!

Love,
Herbert

P.S. One of the so-called 'Clydes' called our Killer Kenn action figure a 'doll.'
I had to kick him in the head!
It's not a freaking doll!
It's an action figure!
Repeat after me.
'Action figure.'

I was thinking about this and I was almost gonna make a new thread about it but I thought it'd be better discussed here. Has there been any talk of what we are going to be able to do with our XBLA games when Xbox 3 comes along? Will our games be BC, and if we bought them before we can just download them again? Do they expect to spend another $5 for PacMan, adding some random extra option the last one didn't have to justify it?

I would hope / imagine they've thought of a way to handle it, or come up with a way to transfer content from your 360 HDD to whatever the next Xbox (or MS portable) uses. But who knows -- there's no system to get your old XB1 save files onto the 360, so maybe we will have to rebuy... *sniffle*

I'm sure it will be similar to what I had to do when I had to replace my HDD. Re-Download. Hopefully by then they'll have some kind of upload service (.Live? :D ) so we can just have the same version with all the saves. Starting Zuma over from scratch? I hopes not.

Couldn't we just simply detach our current harddrive and attach it to the next console. Of course we will probably need bigger harddrives by then, but I imagine that is one solution.

If anyone wants to give me a code or whatever for Wik so I can finally not have 0 achievement points (it doesnt look worth 10 bucks to me), that'd be great. :D

Yeah they're never gonna fix the arcade demo/achievement bug. Even if you delete the demo the bug remains. Hell do we even know its a bug? Could've been a conscious design choice, extra encouragement to get the full version.

Because they are connected to our gamertag, I would guess you would probably just have to download them again. The question is whether they will be backwards compatible or not, assuming the hardware on the the XBOX 3 will be quite different from that of the 360.

Cloning Clyde is a blast. They are so evil for letting you earn achievements in the demo, but then not unlocking them until you purchase the entire game. I would have bought it either way, but Jewel Quest did this to and it took all of my powers of self control to keep me from buying it once I earned that first achievement on the demo.

It's worth it.

Is it? It seems like there cant be a whole lot of variation... 10 bucks seems like a lot to me for Arcade games considering I can get literally 100+ PS2/GC/XB titles for only double that price. :\

There's plenty of variation, a lot of gameplay to it and there seem to be a ton of levels. The only problem so far is no persistant music.

I dont have a mic that works right,I hear people but they cant hear me.I'm sure its my router or something, had the same issue with my mic on the xbox, but still feel free to add me for Cloning Clyde online play ...

After playing the trial for 10 minutes I was hooked,Cloning Clyde is worth the bucks. Nice game, hope to see more like this.:)

The visuals are simple yet very appealing with their crisp clean look.
I'd kill to have a Contra/Metal Slug type game running on this engine.
Surely somebody is gonna make a game like this eventually for XBLA,though yes we have Contra coming later down the line. I want a new I.P. though, just to see what small developers can do with their own spin on a side scrolling shooter.

Bad new plus some interesting news about Texas Hold 'Em:

Joystiq: Besides Lumines Live!, one of the other games people are looking forward to is Texas Hold 'Em poker. Talk about what's in store for that.

Greg Canessa: First of all, it won't be free. We haven't decided on what the final price will be, but it will not be free. As far as incentives, we want to make sure gamers play with a purpose with a game like this that doesn't have any actual risk/reward. We will have a persistent bankroll system tied to your gamertag that will allow those who have built up enough money to enter higher-quality tournaments. Then, if you run out of money, you have to enter the freebie tournaments to build your bankroll back up.

So I guess the deal with the Casino fell through(?) but the persistent bankroll is way cool. Still wish you could put up arcade pts, but I suppose there are legal issues there.

I'm addicted to Astropop, even though I suck at it.

You have colored blocks that drop down from the top to the bottom, and your character can suck down five of them at a time and then you shoot them back up to try to chain same colored blocks together. As you get to more advanced stages, there are more colors and modifiers that make things crazy at times.

Cloning Clyde is amazing. I've cleared up through stage 8 so far, and the level design is awesome. It is a very good puzzle/platform/action game, with most emphasis on puzzles per stage. Some of the voice quips are funny too, like hearing Clyde say "Get along little doggie" when he hops on a goat to ride it. I haven't touched online mode yet, but I will soon. :D

The story is over at my blog, but to make it brief. .

This has happened to me a couple of times, including most disappointly when I cracked 1,000,000 points for the first time.

Curiously, while my high score remains around 800k, I still got the 1,000,000 point achievement.

Haven't played Geometry Wars (or my 360) since.

Cloning Clyde was a ton of fun. I just finished up getting the achievements and I have to say that it provided plenty of hours of entertainment for the misses and me. Definitely worth $10.

Yeah, I downloaded Cloning Clyde based on some positive impressions here and the game is fantastic. Great sense of humor and a much bigger game experience for the money than a lot of other XBLA titles.

Support the indie community on Live. The retro games are alright but the future of indie development could be huge on XBLA.
