One of the buttons flips you back over. I think it might be L3 or R3. Not that it makes the game that much more fun. Why Stainless didn't just do a port or remake of Carmageddon 2...

Because while the company name still exists, the majority of the talent left the studio years ago.

Why the Streets of Rage series (co-op, achievement laden pot of GOLD) isn't on XBLA astounds me to this very day. There is just no valid, solid or worthy excu(~sega~)se for it!

I cycled through all of the buttons a few times, with no luck. What's L3 and R3 in the 360 pad?

When you click on the sticks.
I never knew they had a name. :lol

I did try that - didn't flip me over. No matter, I don't feel compelled to play it again. But now I know what to call "clicking the sticks". :p

I was pretty let down by Novadrome as well...I thought the turning was terribly unresponsive, but I have a feeling this could be because the two cars they give you in the trial demo are the worst in the game.

I also was simply confused, what is going on, is this a death match, what is the goal, what happens when I kill somebody?? Is this Twisted Metal, Rush 2049 (the ramps/jumps), what the hell is going on?

Finally got around to buying Zuma. I tried the demo probably 9-10 months ago and loved it. I never bought it because its 800 points! But, I got 3200 points for Christmas and decided to blow some of it. Its pretty difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it its fun as hell.

Seriously, some of these first generation XBLA games should get a price cut.

YES. We need XBLA Platinum Hits. Hell, Geometry Wars should be free as a way to get more people to connect their systems to Live and download arcade games.

This is a random question, but how big is the hard drive suppose to be out of the box?
I just hooked my 360 Pro up, and I only have 10 gigs available, 13.9 overall size.

I could have sworn my brothers was 20 gigs.

It's technically 20 gigs, but 6 gigs are reserved for caching data to help with load times and other things like backwards compatability updates. If you delete all the crap that comes on the harddrive you have about 14 gigs of usable space.

So what's this week's game?

Nobody knows. I'm guessing that it's Gyruss or Rushin Attack. It won't be a big major indie title because we'd know about it by now if it was. Worms next week though.

Is there a good site with XBLA centric game news. For example a future game list and details about those games.

Jazz Jackrabbit Live!
Any chance epic can put Jazz Jackrabbit 2 on XBLA. It is the ultimate multiplayer online 2d platformer!!

Castlevania SOTN
Is Konami making this one co-op or something??

SEGA Live!
Where are the SEGA arcade games???? Konami and Capcom too of course.

Yes, this thread on NeoGAF! Well there's http://www.xblarcade.com/ but GAF is always first, remember!! :)

I'm not sure Jazz Jackrabbit was big enough to warrant the original on Live, and I'm sure MS are more interested in Sonic etc, but if Epic worked on a new Jazz game, I'm sure it'd be great.

I don't think so, but it's being 'updated', whether that's a good or bad thing is up to you.
SEGA Live!

Nobody knows. It's been very quiet with SEGA which considering they have been the kings of the arcade for decades is very strange. No company is more suited to XBLA than SEGA. What with HotD, Crazy Taxi, Daytona, etc. But SEGA are more interested in making crap sonic games.

I must say MS has totally failed to live up to the potential of XBLA, considering the best games are still the first ones.. (MBU, Mutant Storm, GW etc.)

Well, I think that among the latest, Assault Heroes is a very good game, and I like it much more than Mutant Storm. But yes, I'd like to see more original games too.

Well, after seeing that Gripshift DLX video for PS3, it makes realise what XBLA could have been. I mean, those guys have ported and improved on the PSP version in just 3 months, so why we've been waiting so long for XBLA I don't know, but it obviously isn't a priority for MS and Sony will quickly eclipse it at this rate, with Lemmings and Gripshift already headlining.

MS need to start talking to some handheld game devs, because THEY are the people who are relevant to a downloadable game platform. Why Rare's Gameboy team hasn't made any XBLA games yet I don't know.

RARE
Killer Instinct Gold Live
Battletoads Live
Jet-Force Gemini Live

Epic
Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Live

Capcom
Final Fight Live
Super Street Fighter 2 Live
Street Fighter 3 Live

Midway
NBA Hangtime Live
Super Sprint Live

Come on companies!!! We want these games!!

What do you want out of Live Arcade excactly? They've had 1 year and have released many games I have bought and loved.

Geometry Wars, Mutant Storm Reloaded, Cloning Clyde, Wik Fable of souls, Marble Blast Ultra, Uno, Lumines, Small Arms, Robobliz and Assault Heroes. That's not bad for DLC. And for classic games there are at least 10 that are awesome, definitive versions of arcade classics.

Perhaps XBLA is not what you want. We'll see how PS3's DLC looks in a year from now.

I`d bet that gripsihft and lemmings were being worked on this time last year. As soon as Sony saw that MS was having an arcade service they will have started up projects

MIDWAY! WHERE THE HELL IS THE GRID?

THE GRID

THE GRID

THE GRID

THE GRID

THE GRID

It's perfect for XBLA. Why the hell hasn't the ball been rolling on this one?

THE GRID!!!!!

Almost certainly 800 points. If you listen to this week's Player One podcast you can hear Greg talking about Worms although he doesn't refer to it specifically cause it's on Partnernet and he's not allowed to talk about it. Sounds like Worms is gonna have some add-on packs too which will bring the total to 1100 points. Greg insinuates that the add-on packs are essential to the game.

The Grid is one of the most boring shooters ever. Please don't do it.

Worms will rock and I second the vote on assault heroes being really, really well done (more people need to download and buy this thing).

I want some Bubble Bobble, Puzzle Bobble, anything Neo Geo, some schmups loving and some good platformers. Too much to ask for?
Agreed on all counts, especially the platformers. We've gotten and are getting schmups, (Assault Heroes rocks, Mutant Storm Empire is around the corner)so no worries there. I'd like some new platformers. My daughter and I are nearly done with Cloning Clyde and I'd like another. That game is wholly unique on Live Arcade right now. Castle Crashers is going to fill a nice niche.

WTF??

This is almost 15 Euros. Are they nuts?

Let it be Gyruss !!

I hope it will work out with the new graphics!!

For next year I'm really looking forward for the renewed Atari Games
Missile Command / Centipede-Milipede / Tempest.

Streets of Rage Remake shows what sega should be doing and giving us on xbla or otherwise.

I hope it's worms tomorrow but im doubting it as they said there was still 1 bug only last week, MS's testing seems to take 2-3 weeks. Sonic high-speed would be a nice 2007 suprise with scoreboards to boot.

For Worms in HD with online play over Xbox live thats the bargain of the century.

I can get a PC-version with almost the same game and Internet-multiplayer for 5 Euros. And because I even don't have a HD-TV I wouldn't care of that advantage of the 360-version, too.

Oh god, I was just thinking about Jazz Jackrabbit recently. I loved that game so much! If they bring it to XBLA I'm buying it a million times.

You can get Galaga in a bunch of compilations for dirt cheap as well, not to mention dirt cheap online from multiple sources. Didn't stop it from selling in the top 10 of Arcade games in 2006. For me, the benefit of playing on my sofa (okay, bean bag) with a controller in the den is a huge benefit that helps offset the premium. Though, I can understand why others would not.

I fail to understand why you are in this thread then. you can get a bunch of these other games on the PC too. so? oh well. :/
