It's supposed to, but it has no announced release date, and it's definitely not going to be tonight. I'd be utterly shocked if tonight offered anything aside from the Lumines packs.

You don't even use the keyboard in Bookworm. When you press a key on the keyboard it just makes all the letters corresponding to that key light up.

I don't think it would be too bad with a controller. Hexic works fine with a controller. I've been playing Scrabble Blast, which is very similar, on the GB Micro and the control scheme is fine for that.

I would be utterly shocked that, I don't know, Microsoft actually releases something that isn't announced to have a release date. Because you know, with one exception

Double Dragon... but Worms will be the ultimate social party game.
 
Unfortunately, I heard that getting a game out that people actually cared about last week has completely exhausted the whole XBLA team, and they're taking another 3 week vacation to recover. After that, they'll have to figure out how to use Test Track and Outlook again.

So, most likely no decent arcade releases for at least two months.

That's a good idea. Nintendo and Sony has classic console games, MS should have classic PC games available for XBLA.
 
If all they can manage to release this week are Lumines packs, IMO that's just proof they're failing to fulfil the promise of Live Arcade.

There's clearly some neat stuff in the pipe, and a ton of classic games that could be added in the absence of anything original (including lots that are better than Rally X).

I've got points, and there are a couple of games I'm sort of interested in, but I'd like to see some more enticing stuff come out...

Q4 2006 was supposed to have Sonic, Root Beer Tapper, Paperboy and Alien Hominid among other games. MS wants XBLA to fail, they told me in a secret memo.

I haven't played Lost Planet since Heavy Weapon came out. Put another hour and a half into four-player War Party tonight over Live. 'Tis the shiznit.

I'm almost glad a full new game doesn't come out tonight. I don't buy games that often, and I'm developing a backlog for crying out loud. That means I'm giving arne a break this week. Put out something as great as HW every other week and I'm happy. :D

Dude, I'm going crackers. Heavy Weapon, Lost Planet, and Crackdown?!? All on my machine right now? It's only January!! This is going to be one severely crazy year.

That's the exact composition of my backlog. :lol

I gotta get back to LP - I'm still at Mission 4. But every damn time I sit down, I hop on Live to play a round of Heavy Weapon, which always turns into three or four. And when you get ~19 minutes in each time...there goes the evening. That's been the story the past several nights. And now I have crack...I mean Crackdown...thrown into the mix.

Yeah, I just crested Level 6 on Lost Planet. And by tomorrow morning I'm going to have like, what, 131 more things to do in Lumines Live?

They go up in about an hour and a half. One is free, the other two are 100 points for this week (then 300 points after).

Sorry, I promised to put a hold on my bitching until next week. I'm still happy with Heavy Weapon. I promise to double up on arne to make up for it, though.

You don't release Lumines Live in Japan, so my only way to get it was through a UK account with my UK CC. Now I can't even get the free skin? YOU BASTARDS! :(

Edit: I can't even buy it for the 150pts it will cost after 21 Feb!
 
So I played the new skin, don't have the points on me now for the rest.

I know it's old news to Lumines 2 players but I have to say, it's pretty good. The song is upbeat and the animation has a cool hand-drawn effect. Although, it doesn't really mesh with the whole package. The video is much more dynamic than the rest of the skins. I like it though, I wish more were like it.
Another thing, it's not available in Skin Edit mode. You must play it by itself. It being a four minute song, I doubt I'll ever choose to play it much when most sessions I play last for at least an hour.

But, it's free! Who am I to complain?
 
I'm downloading the Heavenly Star pack and got the VS CPU pack as well. Apparently the VS CPU pack has some new skins for its stages? Or am I misinterpreting the description of the pack?

It is actually available in skin edit mode. You have to finish the challenge mode by dying, then it becomes available.
 
hmm..does anyone here still play SF2-CE?
I finally got round to getting it yesterday....ended up playing with the same dude 3 or 4 times in a row when using the quick-match option.. There musta been more than just the 2 of us playing!!

If you have a good connection to him its not surprising it would choose to match you up.

Awesome, the best Live Arcade game has also sold the most. :P
It's well deserved, the polish and presentation alone puts a lot of other live Arcade games to shame. It's probably my most played 360 game. :lol

As long as there are no AIs playing, the game is good.
 
According to the Japanese 360 blog, there is no XBLA release next week, worldwide.
Also, I haven't seen it mentioned here, but apparently Heavy Weapon gamerpics and theme are out this week too. Still doesn't make up for the fact that there's no Lumines Live in Japan, but my guess is Bandai Namco are ****ing that one up for Mizuguchi :(
