I wouldn't be shocked if it was one of NinjaBee's upcoming games and say something like Super Contra or something else from Konami.

a release of super contra would set in motion, events for me to pitch a tent in my pants.

I wouldn't get too hopped up there newbie, Konami's classic arcade games of this nature have been rather tepid on the XBLA.

I bought both Gyruss (a favorite of mine when I was a kid) and golf. Gyruss is much tougher than I remember and the golf game has already given me a few hours of enjoyment. I must say, both are stingy on achievement points. You'll have to earn em.

Just a quick question not necessarily XBLA based, but If I ever get a free month of Xbox Live [like I've got one for XBLA: Unplugged], if I add that code in, and THEN buy and add a code for a year of Xbox live, is it added on top? Or would I have to wait for one to run out and then add the code for the next one?

It should just extend your current subscription by whatever amount you buy, so you can enter a code whenever.

Gave my XBLA backlog a bit of loving this weekend...

3D Ultra Minigolf: man, what a load of shite. The game is just badly designed, unfortunately, resulting in a fraction of difference in shot power making the ball fly off in some stupid place. I put the offline achievements to rest, and I might play it online if the opponent is equally pissed off with the game so we can just badmouth it over chat.

Assault Heroes: why did I not play this more earlier... I had such a blast getting to the end. I've just got a couple more achievements to get now, including the underground lair one, which should be straightforward if I'm a bit more easy-going with grenades, and the crazy hitrate one, which I might just skip.

Jetpac Refuelled: I love how the stages are grouped into 4s that you can skip to when you start... it gives it that little bit more accessibility. Level 32 (I think) was pissing me off for ages with its almost invisible enemies, but after I got a good run through that, it was plain sailing all the way to 47 or so, including my million+ score and the milky way achievement. Yay. 10 level survivor was a bitch, but so worth it in the end.

Another Double Header this week :D

How is multiplayer pinball going to work? You watch someone else play until your turn?

guess so? also its a little ambiguous on the whole Vision cam over live, is this just live games using the camera for gestures or cam chat too?

Probably gona be a double buy for me this week (if the demos dont stink).

Luxor 2 is a damn fun game. I'm partial to the puzzle games though.

Pinball FX may be my next purchase.
Yup, I've been putting a lot of time into it lately. Suck on the 7-x levels right now.

Holy crap at XBLA ramping up. Eets is on my list. If the demo is good - Eek!

I'm spending way too much money on XBLA these days.

I might as well just bite the bullet and sink some of my gift card money into a MS points card. My wife is getting tired of me nickle and diming (more like 10 bucks a shot) our debit card with all these games.

So has anybody played the original version of Eets?
BuddyC has been advocating it ever since it was announced for XBLA.

I'll be hitting 49 this week, as I'll most likely end up with both.

Jeeeesus.

They really ended up staggering these out perfectly for their bottom line. If Root Beer Tapper came out this week, I probably wouldn't buy it, but back in the dry times, I couldn't resist.

XBLA, you are mighty sneaky.

hey arne, as one gamer to another, if you've tried it, how's pinball?

i haven't played in a month or more. it felt like a decent pinball game, better than the pack-in one with windows :p

it felt solid though... but man I can't remember. i'll go play tonight.

i think the only downside was that it's only 3 tables to start with.

Thanks arne. 3 tables can be fine, as long as they are good tables. Mmmm I loves me some pinball, even the video variety.

Eets is awesome. They really adapted it well to the controller.
It's like a funky, modern take on Lemmings in a way. A lot of fun with a nice sense of humor.

Pinball FX.. not so much unfortunately, especially for $10. "Real" style pinball on fake machines didn't do it for me. I'm a huge fan of Alien/Devil's Crush and the like. The tables seem way too static, and the ball action feels a bit off and overly artificial IMO.

It was shortly before the release, wasn't it?

A few weeks yes, same deal with Jetpac Refuelled actually. Basically, Ikaruga has to get the announcement before it sees the release.

When it slows down, we'll have so much to play it barely matters, as long as the next draught isn't as long as the last one.

We do not need another Hitler Stole My Potato meltdown, been looking for that potato since 2002.
