I wonder if XBLA will have its own blade in the future. That would ruin the whole idea of the "themes" that they want you to buy but it would be more convenient for users and in the long run make more money for MS.

ir wouldn't really ruin the idea of themes at all. Hell, they could sell you new ones with more blades, and they could have the current themes just repeat the background of the "Games" blade for the XBLA one.

Last word that was heard is that it is complete and currently undergoing certification, another strong contender for an quickly approaching release.
 
Wow, thats pretty awesome how he's responded, I hope he makes a lot of that stuff happen.

I put forward what I wanted just now... possibly some unreasonable requests, but I tried :D
 
Geometry Wars is easily my favourite XBLA title but that said what I want to see on XBLA is arcade games. I don't really care about original content.

I don't mind arcade games but I'm fed up of early 80s retro crap. I'd like to see more 90s and early noughties stuff.

Stuff like Streets of Rage, Strider, San Francisco Rush, Crazy Taxi, etc. I've said it before, but Crazy Taxi would be fantastic on XBLA with some awesome achievements.

Small correction: David is in charge of portfolio planning, not all of XBLA. Portfolio planning is a huge component of Arcade though :).
 
I was meh on Aegis Wing, and it still sucks as a single player game, but the multiplayer mode makes up for it. I'm having lots of fun playing together. Since Gears, I want all games to support co-op multiplayer.

I have not bought anything of XBLA since long before the recent update so today I was going to get a few XBLA games but with only 200 points I needed to buy more… I tried to use my credit card to buy more and it gives me an error telling it can not authorize it. I then try to edit some CC information and when it click to confirm the new info it tells me I it cannot authorize the new info. Then I try to enter my one other card and it tells me it cannot authorizes that either. Errors, errors, errors all over the place!!!!

It seem nothing to do with Credit Cards will work but the cards ALL WORK FINE when used on other onlines shops or wherever I use them...

WTF is wrong?

PS: dont tell me to ring support they are ****ing stupid!

Are you using the website? If not have you tried that?
 
Thanks for the help... I am still getting the "The Credit Card that you have provided could not be authorized. Please provide the correct information for your payment method" error though :(

That does bring up a question though, whom exactly did take over as head of the XBLA when Cannessa left?
 
Well after spending about four hours out of my day trying to get points to download stuff I have now decided MS cannot make a service (or console when we are on the subject!!!!) that works correctly… CAN THEY NOT JUST MAKES THINGS NICE AND EASY!!!!!

This was an e-mail sent to me... not sure if anyone else put this in the thread at all.
 
I know I have asked before but could anyone please list what the possible problems would be for MS ignoring anything got to do with my credit cards... no matter what I do, both on the 360 and on the website, I just get "unable to authorize" errors.

FYI I have already tried:

- Reordered address
- Reworded name (there is a Mc in my name and I have put that with the surname and separate from it)
- Tried to add the three digit verification code that was not needed before but still let me happily download about 7 other games over the course of 2006
- Tried another card
- Tried another card with reworded address and name
- Tried site
- Tried on 360
- Tried multiple routes to get the buy points menu
- Tired to buy all different combination of points

To sum things up it will just not let me edit/add anything to fix the problem nor will it let me buy the points under the current configuration... so currently I am stuck

Also my card works on PSN and I am sure it works on VC (have not tired though) and it also works in multiple online shops so it seems the problem is not on my end. My guess is something weird is happening with their verification stuff.

I know I could get a prepaid card code tomorrow but I’d honestly be happier if my card would just work! To make things worse this does not seem to be a common problem as I can find very little about it via Google

I've never had any CC problems, except I have an expired card that is set to default, so I have to remember to select another card when making a purchase. My guess is that you have had so many failed attempts that your account has been "flagged". The only thing you can do at this point is call support.

You're probably right... If I ring though and someone tells me "they will be happy to help me today" and starts listing a pile of scripted things to do that I know will not work I will lose it!!!
 
Small update... I was just messing about to see if I could upgrade my silver account with the usual credit card I used for buying games and weirdly I was able to upgrade from sliver to a three month gold account with the credit card that wont let me buy points... I was not planning to go gold until later this month but I guess now it does not matter now :lol

Does that give anyone here some helpful ideas to figure out what would be stopping it from letting me buy points?

I had a bit of trouble entering my CC details, as it didn't like the '/' in my address. This is a standard was to address in Australia: Apartment number/Street address. As soon as I removed the '/', the CC was authorised and I could buy points.

Puzzle Fighter HD, Bomberman, and Carcassonne are three of my most-wanted games right now, period. Amazing the turnaround XBLA has had.
 
why did you put marvel vs. capcom in there and give me false hope? marvel vs. capcom XBLA with good online play would not only instantly become the best XBLA game of all time, it would become the best next-gen release on any system in any format.

N+ is one I've actually heard nothing of, besides the announcement.

Was Ikaruga actually announced, or just a rumor?

It'd be great if I could even remember half the games I was anticipating for it.

It's a web-based puzzle/platformer. You can find it and play it for free right now. Unless you mean that we haven't heard anything since the announcement, well...that doesn't seem to be a rare occurance with XBLA titles.

Yeah, why haven't they gotten on that already? Not that JNG is the best shmup ever, but it's pretty good and made by a bunch of germans or something. Shouldn't be too hard for those two parties to hook up, make it happen!
