It is coming, it was in the montage of upcoming games that was found recently, it just fell behind Rush N' Attack here and Yi Air Kung Fu, maybe even Super Contra.
There's a new video montage? Last one I saw was at X06....can't seem to find it on any of the big game sites...is there a link maybe? :)

Actually, I believe the original T&F was 3 players.
Hm, I guess I never played the original version then. The only arcade version I ever played on was two players only, but it might have been one of those X-Men-style "two different machines" types of things....

But, yeah, it has been upped to four players on XBLA.
Awesome!!

It certainly was. Cracking game. Simplistic, but amazing. Always funny watching someone try the hammer for the first time and stick it in the netting

Probably on one at least one of the zillion Namco Museum compilations out there.

Also, Review Round Up; IGN XBOX 360 on Soltrio Solitaire.

I purchased Solitaire... I can't say I disagree with the review, given the target audience, but sometimes I just like to chill with some card games. IMO, it's a great compliment to the existing XBLA library and offers more than enough "gameplay" to get your $10 worth. The game controls feel a bit awkward at first using the controller, but it doesn't take long for the controls to feel almost as natural as a mouse.

I agree. I think Solitaire is a great 'chill' game a la Uno. Sometimes you don't want an intense gaming experience. There's times when you just want to veg out and play something relaxing, and Solitaire is great for those moments. The $10 price tag is steep, but if you try to get all the achievements, you will more than get your money's worth from this game. It has a ton of replay value. Screw the haters.

Yeah. I, too, get it if a reviewer doesn't like it, but both the GameSpot and IGN reviews make it pretty damn obvious that the writer had decided to hate the game when they heard of the pricetag.

The GameSpot one even whines about "mediocre graphics and music" to make it sound like he had played the game a lot and was an expert on the subject. My eyes must be broken, 'cause I love the hand-painted backdrops. :(

Yeah screw the haters. Solitaire is AWESOME. Along with Uno, definitely one of those chill games...wake up one Sunday morning and it's highly likely I will be in bed playing one of these two games :lol

IGN XBOX 360 has what I believe is the first hands-on preview of Bomberman LIVE!

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/790/790524p1.html

The first step in this new Bomberman is customization. If you're going to be playing with seven friends, you better be sure you can distinguish one player from the next. With a ton of options for arms, legs, torso and helmet, there are more than 10,000 combinations. Spartan, football player, cowboy, punkrocker, nerdy army guy, or a combination of all of these -- the number of options are staggering. You earn more costume pieces by collecting Costume Balls. One appears in each match and the first one to nab it unlocks a costume piece.

We jumped online for a few different matches and it played, well, just like Bomberman. You run around a map, dropping bombs, trying to avoid the explosions and frag other players. It's simple and fun, and the fun increases as does the number of friends playing on Live. No, it's not a Halo killer, but BL is a solid online action-puzzle type game. You simply drop a bomb to clear obstacles out of your way (and hopefully blow up your buddies in the process). Power-ups like speed boosts and super bombs spring up, adding to the madness. One of our favorite options is Super Revenge. After dying, you hop in a cart on the edge of the map and continue to throw bombs at the players still going. If you frag one, you get to jump back in, like an explosive game of dodgeball. Zombie mode works the same way, except when you die you get right back up -- you simply lose all your points and power-ups, however.

Bomberman Live is slated for release on XBLA this summer. While Hudson has yet to announce a price, new games of this size typically cost 800 Microsoft Points. Anything more would be a hard sell -- anything less would be a bargain. Either way, it's good go see that Hudson is returning Bomberman to its roots. More good news: Hudson will support Bomberman Live for the long haul with a downloadable maps and customization options, with talk of online tournaments every week.

I hate that "Super Revenge" crap. The last thing I want is a match won or lost because somebody who died got some extra chances they shouldn't have received.

Also, pleeeeeease have the option for jelly bombs + throwing bombs. Far and away the best part of Super Bomberman 2, and why my friends and I still love that version.

Well, I've found most of the "original" Xbox Live Arcade games boring. So, you know.

But, to be fair, somebody is always going to be disappointed with the game, no matter what. If Knights of the Round comes... and, I dunno, there are a ton of games of that genre that are better... somebody will be like "Knights of the Round? Pssh."

One of the best XBLA releases to this date for me was Galaga. Yet, a lot of people were like, "Man, Galaga sucks, it's so old and boring. And don't we already have it on a million other consoles?"

I don't think this mass generalization would help XBLA. It IS true that there are bunch of half-ass XBLA titles that have no chance to come out as A GAME otherwise. XBLA games are small and cheap to make games, but it should still hold some quality standards. XBLA should function more like a counter balance of $60 disc games rather than sorry excuse to release broken games at discount price.

clearly you need to go back under the rock where you came from. (or go back a page).

you won't be happy I suspect. but are you ever?

I got a free game last week. That was somewhat pleasing.

I love Hexic HD, but I absolutely suck when it comes to the bombs that you have a limited amount of moves to get rid of. The soundtrack is awesome though.

Yeah, I honestly think it's the best puzzle game since Pokemon Puzzle League (Panel De Pon) which was the best puzzle game since the original Tetris. So it's definately in the elite.

I always found it wierd how little attention the game recieved, but most of the complaints seem really focussed around low-level play and I always get the feeling that most people just never gave it long enough to figure out what the game is about.

It's not until you realize that connecting three colored pieces together is usually something that you don't want to do that the game really opens up. That's what's so telling about people who simply continually insist that it's a suped-up Bejewled.

The trick is to build a "net" of stars and black pearls before the bombs really start to drop and the color count raises. You want them evenly spread out across the "board," and as high vertically as possible, so that you can move surrounding pieces between them with ease. If they are spaced appropriately, you should be able to flip just about any piece anywhere else on the board within the given time frame, or to create more stars without actually combining colors to cycle in fresh pieces - which endangers star collisions or more frequent bomb drops.

So, in other words, you should never dip below five or six star pieces that are highly placed. Try only using the existing "net" to create more stars, and only once you have an extreme surplus should you combine them to create yourself a pearl. Many people make the mistake of just diving their stars together as soon as they have six for a pearl, and this leaves them completely defenseless.

This methodology extends to pearls once you've entered that phase. By the late game, when the color options are maxed, you never want to be without two or three able to spider the board. If a pearl is dropped to the bottom of the board where it is useless, "rescuing" it should become your highest priority. These pieces are absolutely invaluable to make more stars if you can get the hang of them.

It also really helps to master how to "walk" pearls and stars as a two-piece combo unit. You should also master walking a double-pearl combo to spider quickly towards another star. This proves extremely effective as things get more hectic.

The only other advice I can offer is to take your time. To get a six-piece "grand pooh-bah" pearl combo takes at least two hours or so for me. When a difficult bomb drops, really stop and think about every possible option. Many times the answer is actually there, but people will not see it or give up too quickly. Of course, if you haven't properly spaced out your special pieces, it can come down to simply throwing your biggest chain combo together and hoping that you get the right kind of color drops, but by the time you're at that point, it means you haven't been playing very well to wind up in such a bad situation.

Hope any of that helps. It's one of those games where explaining strategy is a little bit difficult to do, but it's definately the kind of game where the more you really think about and play, the better you will become.

Those pages are notoriously unreliable, but I want to believe!

Well, let me see here, the release date says May 2007, we already know what is coming in like two hours, next week is the last Wednesday in May, the game has been confirmed as passing certification, listed on the latest Microsoft list of upcoming game releases and now has a live Xbox.com page. Looks pretty credible to me.

how is this page "hidden"? if you do a text search for "Mad Tracks" it's the first result.

Hidden as in not in plain sight, the Mad Tracks page isn't up on the big XBLA list, and you wouldn't know to search for the game unless you knew the name of Mad Tracks. That is beside the point anyway.

Anyway, product info from the page.

Rev it up in Mad Tracks, an action-packed toy-car racing game. Races take place in everyday environments such as toy stores, mini golf parks, and restaurants. Extra challenges add to this car arcade party game's fast-moving fun. Play with friends on a split-screen, and gather up to 12 crazy achievements.

* Crazy arcade-style fun: Remember the toy cars you used to play with, setting up tracks around the house and racing around chair legs? Mad Tracks is an arcade toy-car racing game that sets up its tracks in places like restaurants, toy stores, and miniature golf courses for that extra level of racing difficulty and fun.
* Fun challenges: Six races, 9 mini-games and up to 12 original achievements will keep you racing.
* Cool options: Twelve different cars and 12 different power-ups, including rockets and oil slicks, keep the racing fresh.
* Multiple modes: There are lots of ways to play including Arcade Mode (both Solo and Split Screen), Championship Mode, and 4-player Live Mode complete with in-game audio chat, multiple leaderboards and weekly resets.
* Downloads: There's a try before you buy demo, 2 free Gamerpics, and soon, 2 new craze-packed downloadable add-ons of 15 challenges each.

Not my cup of tea, but good to see XBLA is holding up to the consistent releases.

I mean, 2 games in a week again.. It wasn't long ago when we would struggle to get anything at all.

I think they are trying to catch up to Nintendo VC releases. The Wii has been out for a little over 6 months and they already have over 90 games on VC. The 360 has been out for over 18 months and they are just hitting about 60 games. But then I understand why Nintendo has more because the games are just ROM dumps where the 360 games have enhancements (live play, enhanced graphics etc.)

Any ETA on Spyglass Board Games?

It's the one with chess and checkers and all that.

No solid release date has been mentioned but if the list pattern holds expect it within the next month.

Mad Tracks.

sounds like a micro machines clone no? I hope its a good clone because my friend has been whining that he regrets buying a xbox 360( i advised him to buy 1, in fact i advised 4 of my friends to buy 1 :lol)
He regrets buying a 360 cuz there are not enough games like BuZZ, micro machines and mashed for it. (thats his opninion , i tried telling him the ps3 doesn't have those games either at the moment but he wouldn't listen...)

anyway i'm hoping this 1 will make him happy :-)

Things I don't like...

The other day I played the trial of Catan...I liked it and realised I had 200 points on my account. The game costs 800 points. So instead of Microsoft allowing me to buy 600 points, I'm supposed to buy 1000.

Thanks for the flexibility. I never bought the game. Lost sale Microsoft.

Another thing I don't like; I signed up for gold once with a credit card. Instead of allowing me to cancel online, I have to stuff around ringing them up if I want to cancel, otherwise they'll just bill the f*ck out of my credit card once a month, every month...till the end of time.

Fix these things please.

I'm so happy my old credit card was frozen due to stolen data, means microsoft have a dead card on their system :lol
