I got 740 points left plz give me some advice on what to get?

I only have geo-wars

Uno is the #1 "social game" on XBLA, and I think it is now officially the best selling Live Arcade game. Only consider it if you want to relax and chat with online friends and strangers.

ok thanks for the tip, what else is there?

I think the best advice is to turn on the XBLA auto-downloading and the low power downloads tonight, turn off the machine, wake up tomorrow and start playing some of the 70 trials games you now have. Then buy the full version of whatever experience you liked best.

Oh damnit. I forgot about Bomberman. I spent 800 points today on Worms because I couldn't think of anything else I wanted. Bah. Guess I'll have to buy a new card for that.

a new Tetris game for Xbox Live Arcade confirmed... (rated by USK yesterday)

There's another F U to the people who bought Tetris Evolution. The first? The game was ass.

I'll get this game. Still way more excited for Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

Well Evolution was done by THQ, this one looks like it's Microsoft's doing.

With that though.. Splash? Could this be a completely weird return of Wetrix?

Hooray for Tetris. I love Tetris but wanted it on the HDD with the other arcade games. It's a great pick up and play game, not something I need to put the disc in for whenever I want to play. Sounds like someone came to their senses.

Lunar Duality returns with the second part of his preview of the Band of Bugs level editor.

Latest XBLA list from Major Nelson:

Top Arcade Titles (Full Versions)
1 - Prince of Persia
2 1 Pac-Man C.E.
3 6 UNO
4 - Aegis Wing
5 - Hexic HD
6 - Geometry Wars Evolved
7 2 Mad Tracks
8 - Texas Hold 'em
9 3 Worms
10 4 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures

XBLA Titles on the Xbox 360 Top Live Titles (UU’s)
9 - Prince of Persia

Hmmm... Aegis Wing on the list this week? Weird, unless it's no longer free.

Woohoo! Go Carbonated Games :).

I think he may have messed up and used "most played" for XBLA this week instead of "most purchased". Aegis Wing is still free and Hexic HD isn't for sale either.

I have questions regarding TMNT and Double Dragon.

TMNT:
1) Is the online solid? Will I encounter any problems if I'm in NA and am trying to play with someone in the UK?
2) Can guests jump in? Eg. 2 players from each system.

DD:

2) Can guests jump in? Eg. 2 players from each system.
3) Are the slowdowns that bad? Is the game playable/enjoyable? How does it compared to the NES's DD2 (which I loved to bits)?

1) Not sure, but if I recall, there were many complaints about lag and as I only played with people from my country and never encountered problems it was probably about intercontinental play.
2) No, don't think so.

1) It's ok as far as I've seen.
2) Well, uh, Double Dragon is a 2-player game. You can play two people on one console, but it'd be impossible to go online with it.
3) Yes. No, because it's an outdated piece of shit. It's 15 minutes long and has four levels, ie not comparable to DD2.

Does this mean we get Bomberman Live this Wednesday? This is the Xbox Live Arcade page on xbox.com, with a section that says "New on Xbox LIVE Arcade." Bomberman is listed, and also the last three games to come out are also listed in order of release. Is this anything to pick up a clue from?

Pretty much every time this has happened, that was the next game released. The only exception I can think of is Luxor 2, which was listed for two weeks before release.

Edit: wow it even has the price - 800 points. That's a steal for Bomberman with 8-player Live play.

Interesting, very interesting.

Also, Gamespot mentions a rather confusing development about Beautiful Katamari in their preview page.

Beautiful Katamari Hands-On
Ever wanted to play Katamari Damacy in high-definition? Namco will soon give you your chance via Xbox Live Arcade.

The big, huge Katamari ball of junk just keeps on rolling, this time with a new installment called Beautiful Katamari slated to hit Xbox Live Arcade in October. We got to try out the latest build of the game and found that the game will offer a host of improvements--such as achievements and 720p resolution--that you'd expect out of an Xbox 360 game, while remaining strictly faithful to the surreal, entertaining gameplay that's defined this series since its humble inception a few years ago.

I think Carcassonne was listed a few weeks back but has yet to appear. I can't believe that isn't out yet. Could be a huge week if both Carcassonne and Bomberman hit. Megaton for sure.

Carcassonne was never up on the main page like that.

We can only dream!

You're right, Carcassonne was not listed on the Main Page. It was listed in an Xbox Live Newsletter, though. Everyone assumed that was a confirmation of it's imminent release at the time. Here is the post that brings this information to light, and the picture that seemed to announce Carcassonne.

I thought this was a fitting description for the game, which looks like a PS One game. Glad to hear it's coming to XBLA instead of being a $30-40 regular title. For $10 with 720p, I may pick it up.

Has anyone been able to get those achievements in Bankshot Billiards? It's not the greatest game, but I may play it for the achievement if they were, you know, achievable. They are so hellishly hard that I just can't be bothered. Some of them, aren't even possible (like the golf one). Anyway, just venting.

Right, I was just checking the grand XBLA release list on the Wikipedia and the calender has already been updated with the presumed releases for Wednesday.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_Live_Arcade_games_by_date

According to said list Bomberman LIVE is indeed coming this week and in addition to that they list a second game, Konami's Track and Field.

Don't get your hopes up. Some Hudson dude said in OXM podcast that Bomberman is coming in early/mid July.

I believe the root information is stemming from the fact that the Bomberman page is now featured on the XBLA main page.

If it is bomberman this wednesday i'll have to go out and buy a points card for it, and it will give me a break from forza 2 and lost planet :D

Bomberman and Track and Field on the same day would probably be the best week of Live to date.

Bububububut...Track & Field came out 10 years before I was born!!! It can't be good! Fire someone for approving it!

Huh, I didn't get a PR this morning. I wonder why they haven't decided what game to release yet. It seems like it's going to be Bomber Man but I'd like some confirmation. I need something new to play. I've only been playing Pac Man for the past few weeks. I'm damn good, but I could use a change of pace.

Nothing up on Major Nelson or Gamerscore Blog yet.

Really?

He usually updates his blog first before the MSN messages go out...

I should have screencapped it, but it stays up for like 2 seconds.

edit:

This week on Arcade: Band of Bugs
Direct from Ninja Bee (‘Outpost Kaloki X’ and ‘Cloning Clyde’) comes their next creation ‘Band of Bugs’ which will be available on Wednesday (June 20) for 800 points.
