How is Super Contra in online coop? Any lag?

While I'm asking, how is the original Contra in that aspect as well? Did they ever fix the lag issues?

Super Contra seems a little better as far as lag goes but still has a lot of the same issues as the original. Still for $5 if you dig Contra it's worth it.

Any questions?

I only just today (haven't kept up with 360 the past few months) discovered Pac-Man Championship Edition, or whatever it's called. That's some great stuff right there.

What are the events in the arcade version of T&F? I don't see any screens of skeet shotting (my fav event). No archery or hurdles either.

Was Hyper Sports made by Konami as well? I always preferred that over T&F but I'll still pick this one up if it has skeet shooting.

Glad your not asking about Zodiac that's one a bitch to explain....:lol

While I haven't beat Archway myself, I've come damn close, my only tips are don't play if you have any low kings or aces, just re-deal. This is supposed to be the game that has the lowest win rate outta all of them and chances are this is the one game many of us haven't beaten yet.

Matrimony sucks and it's the other game I don't have a win in yet, I've come close but outta 100 games no win, most people say to auto deal it and keep hitting X until you win, but I've had no luck with that either. Also there's a glitch where the Queen of Diamonds stack will wrap around meaning it will let you play more cards on top of it then it should, which ruins the other piles...

For flying aces, just re-deal Klondike until you have 4 aces showing, then play them on the foundation without touching the stock pile...

Not touching the DLC until I get the first 18 beat...

Got the Flying Aces achievement; took a lot of restarts. This isn't an achievement, this is pure dumb luck.

Also got Matrimony after lots of tries. Also pure dumb luck, but at least Klondike is fun to play. I also think they fixed the glitch as I got an update for the game.

Zodiac was actually quite easy and fun to map out all your moves beforehand.

Now I just need to win Archway. Anybody got more tips?

The 100 wins achievement will be a cakewalk if I keep using Grandfather's Clock. The 1000 wins achievement won't be difficult at all, just very tedious. Not sure if I'm going to bother spamming Grandfather's Clock for it. I'll probably just start playing my favorite Solitaire games for fun, and that'll be that.

Still no word on what's due tomorrow?

Track & Field

EDIT: When the hell is Konami gonna let you strecth the screen again - it did it with Frogger & Castlevania. That border is terrible.

I still need to clear Zodiac and Archway. Archway is just too frustrating :(.

100 or 1000 wins achievement is probably easiest with Memory. It won't be fun though.

Grandfather's Clock is the way to go for the 1000 wins, unless you want to play your favorites for fun. I beat every game except Archway. It is ridiculously hard. A guy on the Xbox message boards wrote a program to calculate it, and less than 1% of the games dealt to you can be solved successfully. It's basically a game of redealing constantly until you find an 'acceptable' board which turns out not to be solvable.

Going by Digital Eclipse's other Konami ports, you'll be able to stretch it in Track & Field. Super Contra let you do it as well.

I'm so embarrassed.

I just played a game of Checkers and jumped out to one of the most commanding leads one can get.

I'm not kidding. I was beating this guy like 7 pieces to 3. I lost the game.

He somehow makes certification sound like a prostate exam.

I went and bought Marble Blast because I was bored out of my mind. The beginner and intermediate levels were alot of fun but holy hell at some of these expert ones. Sadistic to the core.

Pretty good XBLA game though.

just downloaded marathon and played for about an hour. quite liking it so far. great level design and atmosphere, digging the terminals. not digging the very limited environments. i guess doom is the same way, but in marathon it seems much easier to get lost as areas dont seem as distinct.

oh, and now i feel like i'm going to puke. game gives me motion sickness with or without the head bob :(

Is anyone still on in multiplayer? That was my favorite part of that game.

I haven't touched multiplayer, I've just been doing the single player levels.

It's kind of funny how you'll be tearing your hair out trying to complete a stage and all the sudden by dumb luck something bizarre will happen that'll let you finish well under par. I was playing one of the expert levels last night and frankly I was getting a little frustrated. I was more or less just dicking off when I kept jumping my marble and I hit a bumper which knocked me off the course but then I landed square on a another bumper which moved me right on top of another bumper which shot me damn near to the end of the level. It was a thing of beauty, worthy of a YouTube video.

Haha. My first game of checkers online, the dude was owning me pretty badly. He had two kings to my one, but I'm not a quitter, so I ended up forking his two kings, then smothering him against a wall and making him my bitch. I'm surprised he didn't quit in shame.

I've been playing SG and it's fucking NUTS.

As expected... crazy random sounds (ringing phones, animal noises, Tempest & 2000/Defender sfx) and images (faces, weird shapes and stuff), and tons of assorted internet/gaming memes like "Your giraffe is in another castle", "a winner is you!", "you are meh!", etc.

Its ugly (by design) IMO, but addicting. It's a definite stoner game - obviously.

Speaking of that... Hexic 2 has a subtle but nasuea-inducing camera warp/zoom effect on the background that made me woozy after a few minutes. Thankfully it can be toned down or turned off.

Oh god, not the Eagle filter again. Please stop the inanity.
It's new graphics, not a filter. And please stop the whining, every game on XBLA of this type has let you play with the original graphics as they always were. Yet there's always someone bitching about the filters. WTF.

Um, they never stopped?

It's been a while now, but I was pretty damn late to that party and when I last played it the game was very healthy online. Very easy to find a match.

Ugh. I thought we'd established that two-button running was the only way for Track & Field to go back in the 80's. This is th early one-button version.

Wiggling the analogue stick sucks ass, makes you feel like you're going to break the controller, and run a good probability of smacking the 360 guide button, which will disqualify your entire attempt.

Bums.

I've been waiting for some DLC before I bought the game. They really need to add a custom multiplayer mode.

Also, I wouldn't mind living in Beavertown. Unless it was filled with beavers instead of beaver.

Xboxic continues its symbiotic relationship with Mad Tracks dev Load Inc via a detailed interview with Denis Bourdain wherein they talk about about Mad Tracks and the reaction to the game with the press as well as discussing the future for Load Inc. as well as will be on show for us at Leipzig (a racing game known as ToW). There are also some revelations on on XBLA sales figures, and finally if the evil Playstation Network will ever receive the Load Inc. treatment.

Whaa?! There's not even an option for the 2-button version?

That's pretty sad. :(

Any news on Street Trace regarding its release date?

I'm going to assume no, but it cant hurt to ask.

... or can it? *looks around*

You can use two buttons.

You use X and B to "waggle" and A to jump/throw/whatever
