It might be 250 points. I would pay 250 for a new game mode and stuff probably sounds like a nice little add-on pack. :lol @ Rocky Bomboa

Anyone have a general idea when Every Extend Extra Extreme is due out? EDIT: answered on the last post of the last page DOH! Thanks Shard! :)

It was suppose to be in August, at least that's what IGN or 1Up said when it was first revealed at GDC. But knowing Q Entertainment and EEE for PSP, we probably wont see it till August 2008 :lol

What a shame. Does it really take that long to develop EEE/EEEE?

Interesting how many games we still have yet to see from the Microsoft press release (dated 3rd Aug) of Summer Arcade titles:

- War World
- Geon
- Puzzle Quest
- Streets of Rage
- SWOS (wasn't in the PR, but has been announced as a summer release)

While 350 pts might seem to be a buck too much for the content, I'll pay it just out of respect for how damn good Bomberman Live is. It's worth it to support the expansion of the thing.

Great. The guys behind Novadrome are now giving out their advice on how to create XBLA games. That's like a convict giving out career advice.

If it were advice on how to con MS into approving your title, then it would be more useful.

I did find this interesting in his advice.
As a fall back MS do allow you to do Title Updates but beware if you do more than one Title Update MS may well ask you to cover the certification cost if it includes executable data.
This is an interesting approach by MS to prevent games from being released "unfinished" only to patch them later. If they only give you one "free" patch then you would hope that the devs would want to make sure that the first one is right... not that they aren't doing that anyways, but some seem less concerned with this.

If there was a fix for Bomberman's Live play, along with these add-ons, then I'd buy the add ons.

There is currently an update planned to optimize a few things about the game. ETA still being worked on.

Though one thing people should note is that if they are playing people who constantly lag, they can boot low ping players from a game before it starts. It's something I do regularly, especially if players jump in from Japan and Europe, and you got way too much cross country data being handled. It's their ping bar is red, then you are going to get people warping around the level. If you find good ping players, that takes care of 80% of the funkiness about online play.

Okay people, got quite a few updates for y'all.

RoboBlitz is set to get a major DLC expansion soon. The upgrade(ium) shall include multiplayer, a couple of new costumes and also a mode called "Upgradium Blitz". In that mode you will be hording the good stuff for yourself and stealing it from your opponents. The DLC pack is expected to cost not a red cent, so for the 8 people who actually bought this game, you have no reason not to pick it up when it comes out.

In the stylings of Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged SliconEra is reporting that Gamefly is listing a title called "Popcap Greatest Hit Vol. 1" console compilation, specific games are yet to be announced.

According to this story found in the latest pages of a Japanese Mag called Arcadia, it was announced that a classic molded shoot-em-up called Trigger Heart Exelica would be making it's way to the service. I am suspecting that this is the same shump that Aku Jiji game impressions of not to long ago, the game was previously released on the dreamcast to mixed reviews.

Ive got 400pts and have no idea what to DL. I tried Space Giraffe but i have noo idea what is happening. Oy

Well, yes for now, Microsoft did pledge that E4 would be out before the end of the year. (E3 XBLA Montage all games for 2007)
Their pledges mean nothing. For example, the X06 XBLA montage included Heavy Weapon (Jan 2007), Gyruss (Apr 2007), Catan (May 2007), Carcassonne (Jun 2007), as well as Mutant Storm Empire and Alhambra which are both still waiting for release. Oh and lets not forget the game they explicitly listed as "coming early 2007" - Sensible Soccer.

Well, we got 4 months to see if that shall happen or not.

IGN proves yet again they are the worst gaming site on the net. I never thought I could hate a website until I discovered IGN.

Anyway, what time do games usually go up on XBLA again? 3am EST? Gotta make sure to grab Puzzle Fighter ASAP.

but what about the bombs that games of this sort seem to always have? Well, fate would have it that the bombs in Space Giraffe are actually the simplest dynamic of them all. Basically you start each stage with a bomb (represented by a long tail stemming off of your character). Use it or don't, you get one per stage. It's that easy....The real problem with Space Giraffe isn't with its confusing jump pod mechanic that the tutorial does a terrible job of explaining, or its all-too-simple bombing dynamic
"all-too-simple bombing dynamic" :lol

Space Giraffe might be the best game on XBLA. What I mean is that 5 or 10 years from now, it will be one of the 2 or 3 XBLA games that I remember as great games. If I could only have one XBLA game, it'd either be SG or Geo Wars. Kind of a shame that the design is such that many people just won't get it, or won't try to get it. It's absolutely a hard game to recommend, but so are a lot of great movies, music, or food, or whatever. That professional reviewers are having trouble with it isn't surprising, but the reviewer is supposed to be the guy with his nose in the air who appreciates games that aren't easy to get. Not that I like the guy with his nose in the air, but I'd prefer that guy to the shit brained little jerks that pass themselves off as critics.

Yeah I agree with that. The problem with Space Giraffe is. That it's so incredibly basic on the surface, and yet so massively complex underneath, that you either click with it early and realise its complexities later. Or give up on it early and never understand what you are missing out on.

The fact that the reviewer talked about how simple and basic everything is just tells me he's one of the latter. Unfortunately he didn't give it the time to see that this is one of the most involved, complex, and strategic games to have been released in quite some time.

Still, I'm no stranger to the games I love being hated by the mainstream and gaming press. So it doesn't particularly bother me that it isn't scoring that great (except for in Edge magazine, where it got an 8). It's just sad that it will put a lot of people off even trying the game when they see such a low score. When in fact it could be one of the best games of this year.

As much as I love Space Giraffe, to be fair: the game has some incredibly retarded design decisions that just totally ruin certain things.

Yeah, it very much teeters on the border line of retarded and genius. There's always something new coming into the game that throws you for quite some time, and it seems utterly stupid for it to even exist other than to piss off the player. But I have found that eventually you learn to understand and work with it.

I'm still trying to beat level 100. The last time I played, a few days ago. I played that level for 3 hours and still didn't beat it. But as I said before, because the game borders on retarded and genius. I'm able to keep playing and still enjoy myself because there is progression from chaos into sanity. I've gone from thinking the level is an utter mess and impossible, to actually having moments of pure gaming nirvana as I navigate around the level obliterating and understanding everything that's going on. Those moments don't last long, but they are getting longer the more I play and the feeling of over coming such chaos is amazing.

On the subject of level 100. Has anyone beaten it? How long does the level last? I've gotten to the part where 2 of the timing lazer things are tracking back and forth behind me. Surely the level can't last much longer than that... At least, my controller probably won't.

Holy shit, Streets of Rage 2 out of nowhere! My previous statement about buying 2 XBLA games this week has turned out to be true.

And where the hell is Sensible Soccer :(

It's been confirmed over at the War World forums that the Xbox 360 version of the Ubisoft and Third Wave video game will be available on August 30. Players can get the game via download in the Xbox Live Marketplace.

In line with the launch, a PC version celebration match will be hosted online for an hour in the UK and in Australia by the game's creators, Third Wave Games.

Everyone is invited to join the friendly matches which will include some of the community's stalwart players. They'll all be there within an hour of the match's start, so you better come prepared.

Matches in support of the Xbox Live release will also be held. Warworld.net promises that at least 8 players will be right there once the game opens up for download, ready to get the ball rolling.

So, is it on XBLA or marketplace? hmm...

I'm only at about level 60, but I haven't found anything like that. The game is meant to be hard to begin with, and you're supposed to learn strategies and play using the audio cues.

What are these retarded decisions that ruin certain things?

space giraffe might be too demanding for some (yes the game does force players to pass beyond its overwhelming visual&audio madness and "see" the underlying game mechanics to reallly appreciate it ) yet calling its gameplay broken or flawed is completely unfair.

also lol at ign's reviewer's comments about achievements being too hard, (this alone shows how he really didn't grasp the concept of the game) achievements like Boi Bumbá, klepto-giraffe, professor of girafeology, pod presever, mine's a 99 and girafa garanido(half of the achivements) are real easy to get after just couple of hours of practice.

and again space griaffe is not for everyone, but for those who can dig beyond its sensory overload, it's an unparalelled experience in addition to being one hell of a game.

hey hey

Got a question for u guys. Does anybody know if there are any more boardgames comming out in the near future for xbla? (ala Catan or carcasonne)

Right, you may or may not remember the news that a plan was hatched to bring a racing game based around the Toyota Yaris to the XBLA, well, almost a year aftert this news was brought to the fore, new details are beginning to emerge.

http://www.siliconera.com/2007/08/28/the-toyota-yaris-xbox-360-game-is-real/

The game was recently rated by the ESRB, our friends over at Backbone are developing that game and the first screenshot of this racer has now surfaced, it can be any worse then Novadrome.

Hey, I hear Streets of Rage 2 is coming to XBLA.

Do we know when it will be released?

Is it only an emulated game ala Sonic, or does it have extra features?
