Storm Riders has nothing to do with Ninja Gaiden, Im not entirely sure who is spreading that wrong information. Storm Riders was built really, really late in the Xbox's life, July 22 2005, NG started life in like 1999 before being announced at e3 2002 and released in March 2004.
I think we've discussed this but I've just rewatched the video today and I'm back on my "NG uses lots of stuff from the Storm Riders demo" kick. But if it did get built afterwards, then I guess it's the other way around. I don't know how they're related but I just assumed Storm Riders came first since it looks like a very rudimentary NG. If I've caused some misinfo to go around then that's my bad. All I know is they *have* to be related somehow.
There are way too many similarities to ignore. Will gladly go through and dissect it and provide video of NG for comparison! But for starters, the wall run animations, the "Interact" notification on the bottom right, the pot he breaks at the beginning of the vid. Lots of environmental similarities. After he opens a door and rolls through it, the animation is basically 1:1 with NG. There's a very strong argument to be made.
Wasn't there some question as to which dev Storm Riders came from? Cause it's gotta be Tecmo or someone associated, I guess.
Edit: guess the other explanation would be that someone ripped off NG wholesale, but that seems far fetched. Or maybe it's not, i don't know.
Think that requires a RAM upgrade. Wasn't able to play it on a (modded) stock Xbox.
yeah. same if you want to emulate (run natively?) Chihiro stuff.
