Oh my god: Rosie O'Donnel playing the mentally handicapped sister of Andie MacDowell

I saw that commercial and couldn't even laugh... It was like it was so easy to ridicule that I had to scratch my head. What was her agent thinking, letting her take that role?

"No thank you!!" :lol

Ugh, reminds me of that trainwreck "The Other Sister."
In college I lived in a house with a guy who was an extra in that movie, talked about it far too much =/

Different colored shoes!?! :lol

Why not have her wear them on the wrong feet and have her clothes backwards like Kriss Kross too.

And is she supposed to be young enough to be going to school? God, this is so wrong on so many levels...

But the shoes match her shorts and the clunky purse she's holding. She's not handicapped: she's just different.

The only thing missing from this, as far as I can tell, is that the mentally handicapped character does not have magical powers. If this were based on a Stephen King novel, you could bet your ass she would have them.

The image posted above made me mutter "Patch Adams" to myself...

Rosie always reminded me of that woman from the Facts of Life anyway.

Her child is going to be bonkers. First she finds out she's adopted, then that mommy is a lesbian, and now that she's a retard who commits fashion crimes? Therapists will RUN from this kid..

Oh my god, the acting is insanely horrible! It all seemed so forced. "Nickel don't buy nothin'." Rosie doesn't really look the part, either...She looks like a celebrity acting like a retard. Anyone who holds their jaw the way she is in that trailer would not have teeth that straight. I never thought I would say this, but...I think Rosie O'Donnel is too attractive for that role.

Wow, I just watched the first clip and this is really, really bad. Anjelica Huston should not be allowed to direct again.

I like how the bus was filled with neutered stereotypes. It's so blatant. The Indian bus driver that speaks perfect English. The 'gangsta' black teens that readily help MacDowell's character. Then of course, Rosie's character, apparently a gigantic lovable mentally challenged person... wait, what the hell is her handicap? It's just Rosie O'Donnell speaking funny. I guess that qualifies...

I just realized that. She seems like a perfectly normal person, except for moving her arms around with her elbows pointing out when she talks, and talking like somebody tied a rubberband around her tongue. Other than that, it's such a horribly stereotypical portrayal of "retardation". I got a real kick out of watching those clips and imagining the character's not really retarded, but just a normal person pretending to have a weird speech impediment. Go ahead and try it.....it's a hoot!

Groundhog Day.
Point disproved.

Edit: Sigh. I was beaten by demon while looking to see if she was in The Frighteners as well. She's not. Just some hussy who looks a lot like her.

Ugh, this movie is FULL of inaccuracies.... in what universe are bus drivers so cheery? Let alone with annoying fucks like retard-Rosie O'Donnell?

MacDowell has the acting ability of a stump. Forget the fact that she was a fad for awhile that was stuck in some good scripts.

And could the movies that teach touching truths by way of the retarded please stop now?

On my bus route the drivers at the least tolerate the tards because they're friendly and don't try to hassle people like the homeless guys and shumcks going/coming out of the city lock-up. But yeah, cheery bus drivers are totally an invention of Hollywood

One of my semi-regular bus drivers is awesome. He's very cheery, says hello and goodbye to everyone and is all-round a really nice man. He's the only cheery bus driver I've ever had, though, so with your statement above I'm beginning to wonder whether he's just a struggling actor getting into character for a movie like Riding The Bus With My Sister. :(
