PS3do is doomed!!!!!!!!!!! Went into Asda/Walmart yesterday and they had the message to pre-order the P$3 every 5 minutes over the tannoy so I decided to ask the girl on the videogame section how many pre-orders they had....
1 pre-order out of 80 stock!!!

I expect Sony have a few things to show yet, its not even a massive series. 6.8m worldwide for 3 games.....!

Monster Hunter is already moonlighting on the PC - it would be nice to have voice chat in game as standard , but as i mentioned - the sum parts of Monster hunter make it great and (as i said in the review) the BAD parts of monster hunter are part of the reason it works well - the bad controls and the very poor communication system mean that you have to REALLY learn your weapons and you have to plan PRIOR to the hunt - the window for changing your plan on the fly is limited. I'm sure it'll be a hoot over voice chat , but it'll kill a part of the pregame excitement

If EVERYONE goes multiparty, then you get to the point where timed exclusives become more expensive to pick up for the console companies. And for Devs, that's a good thing - they get a cash bonus for giving someone a game X months later, but they STILL get to hit the larger/wider demographic.

I don't really think it'll make much of a difference for most gamers even if Sony hypes up their 1st party games more. Aside from Halo, most of MS's 1st party games are unproven IPs that are not as well known as Sony's 1st party stuff. People are buying 360s because of the 360 games out now and not because they have some strong faith in MS's 1st party lineup. It's more important for Sony to keep their existing 3rd party exclusives like FF &MGS . I think most people still buy Sony consoles because they think those Japanese blockbusters would never end up on an American console and not because they want to play the next R&C, Socom,etc. Sony's 1st party games are good but they are not the main reasons for people to buy their systems, unlike Nintendo. I'm not sure even sure if GT is a $600 system seller since there are similar racers now on the 360.

haha well with DMC coming to the 360....not a lot of exclusives left for either system eh? I mean even Ninja Gaiden, whom we never imagined on a sony console is happening.. (and dont say its a rehash when its being built from the ground up for next gen for a totally new experience).... I think Sony took a big loss on this one still though.....
LO had a demo in Japan, though it was early and not well received. It's not an apples to apples comparison with HS and Halo 3, either. One is a new IP that needs the exposure to get press and awareness. The other needs to be announced, or perhaps spoken of once in a while.Z3F said:

The fact that a staple PLAYSTATION franchise that sold/shipped 7 million units IS FORCED TO go multi-platform just because the ps3 isn't selling, that's a problem. Having said that, it may or may not be MGS4, but other exclusives for PS3 are going to go multi as well.

You never know what may happen, sony might snag up some titles too (read: Alan Wake, Mass Effect, Too Human), As we know, those games are not out and anything could happen these days. Its still funny to see that people think the ps3 will die because of this, as you know, its still coming out on ps3 too and yes i do own a 360 and its fine, just a little over-reacting as if the ps3 is teh doomed

It's more of an image thing. DMC is one of the most famous series of last generation and having DMC exclusively on your system makes it look better. If sales alone were all that matter then Sony wouldn't be making another R&C since only the first R&C sold more than a million copies and MS wouldn't spend money on their RPGS since they probably won't make enough money from them.
