Because the surest way to get MS to fund future projects is to screw them over. Right.Andrew2 said:The devs could be using Microsofts money so they'll be ports later......like I said, its only a matter of time after their respective release before Microsoft is screwed over by these devs because of that loop-hole...

Dahbomb said:This is probably the fastest growing thread on NeoGAF ever. Even bigger than the DQ9 and VF5 threads. 33 pages... I said WOW again!
It's straight from the playstation store, no reencoding.C- Warrior said:Ah, finally the TGS trailer in good quality.
Although, the footage seems kind of dark, no?
Blimblim said:It's straight from the playstation store, no reencoding.
I can reencode it with more brightness if you want.
Capcom announced a few hours ago that Devil May Cry 4 would be released simultaneously on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC at the end of the year. And to celebrate this, Sony put online some new videos of the game on the japanese Playstation Store. Strange timing.
Pureauthor said:This thread had the advantage over DQ9 one, you know. It was some time into the DQ9 thread before the bomb actually dropped. In here? It opened with the megaton.
thingonaspring said:from memory the dq9 thread was worded similar to this one.
Pureauthor said:From experience the mods changed the thread title after it hit.
cartoon_soldier said:lol...what? MS probably has the best lawyers out there, considering how busy they are with all the lawsuits![]()
So the original video on the PStore was 540p?Blimblim said:Talk about bad timing, Sony just put online 2 videos (dating from TGS) of the game on the playstation store.

Andrew2 said:Like I said, the very fact MS is funding these game pretty much made MS sign a deal with the devil(Bioware, Remedy and Epic) is going to see them get raped by these devs eventually.
Fatghost said:Do we have a release date for DMC4 360? Will it be the same day as the PS3, or is it coming later, ala VF5?
Prine said:it was only a metter of time. Not long till MGS joins X360 library, which is the only one that matters to me.
VF5 and DMC = cool, but im not interested
Andrew2 said:Realistically speaking, titles like Alan Wake, Mass Effect and Gears of War can technically make the jump to the PS3 at later date and i'll explain why....
1) Even though Alan Wake, Gears and Mass Effect is being published by Microsoft, Remedy, Epic and Bioware are still technically 3rd-party developers and 2) Microsoft doesn't own the rights/IP to either..essentially this mean Remedy, Bioware and Epic can do whatever they want, including porting them to another platform in the future whenever said contractual duty expire. All they'll have to do is either self-publish or find another publisher to handle it for them.
Now before any of you act as though I don't know what I'm talking about, this has happen before and I'll give you 2 examples...Toshinden and Wipeout(before Sony bought pygnosis).
Technically speaking Takara own the rights to Toshinden, however Sony published it initially for the PSX, but later it was ported to the Saturn and arcade[Toshinden Remix]. As for Wipeout..long before Sony bought Pygnosis, Sony published the Wipeout games, but also there were N64 and Saturn versions. It wasn't until Sony totally bought Pygnosis and renamed them into SCEE Liverpool that wipeout became totally exclusive to the PS-platforms.
With that said if I was Microsoft, I would be more worried about Bioware, Remedy and Epic having PS3 versions in the wing ready to go after their obligation expire.
Sure these devs might deny the fact there are PS3 versions, but I wouldn't put it pass them to take advantage of that one loop-hole and and see them on the PS3. This is the very reason why I have hope that Kingdom UnderFire: Circle of Doom will end up on the PS3 at some point...

Fatghost said:Well I'll get the 360 version then, better controller (rumble) and custom soundtracks.
GamerGeorge said:As soon as Hideo Kojima gets off the damn drugs and announces an Xbox 360 version of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, then that's the ultimate confirmation I'll need to avoid the PlayStation 3 forever.
Yep.gogogow said:So the original video on the PStore was 540p?
Anyway, thx for the vids!
Taurus said:I don't have time to go through the whole thread from the start but did we have any nice spins earlier there? Like "DMC is no MGS, you can keep it a$$holes!"
If anyone has some extra time, please make a top 5 or at least top 3 list from top spins. Thanks.![]()
Aeon712 said:Bull****, where is the PS3 love? Capcom is now like Ubisoft to me "Pure Crap"
Aeon712 said:Any chance of DMC being good on the PS3 is gone now that will be gimped down to 360 standards. Good thing I don't buy Capcom games.
Aeon712 said:The new Ratchet and Clank looks better anyways.
Aeon712 said:It will prob be the 360 version since Capcom will take the easy way out by not building tha game around the Cell.
909er said:Correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding of the relationship, at least with GoW, is that MS owns the IP. It would make sense for them to do so, since then they can have more first party franchises.

anyhow the only reason I could see Epic allowing Microsoft to publish it...the marketing money and distribution just like how Id and Valve depend on Activision and EA for the very same thing.
right now its only a matter of time before Epic take the money they've made from GOW and split, taking GOW along with them to possibily other platforms.
