Microsoft doesn't own the GOW IP and this is the trademark to prove it...

anyhow the only reason I could see Epic allowing Microsoft to publish it...the marketing money and distribution just like how Id and Valve depend on Activision and EA for the very same thing.

right now its only a matter of time before Epic take the money they've made from GOW and split, taking GOW along with them to possibily other platforms.

I just don't see that happening. GoW could end up in the 6 million + range when it's all said and done. Thats ridiculously good for a brand new IP. Why then would Epic suddenly decide to abandon the 360, where they have a huge fanbase just waiting for a sequel? And why turn your back on MS with the threat of lawsuits after they've been such good business partners? They have no advantage in taking it to the PS3.

As great as this news is for 360 fans, and for Capcom's pockets, I am more interested in that OTHER action series that appeared on Xbox made my Tecmo.

Where the f*** is my Ninja Gaiden 2 Tecmo?

Don't go there, they'll want to ban you from this topic

Don't think this one has been posted up yet. It's as irrelevant but cool as any of those other gifs.

To be slightly positive(for the ps3); this means that this game will support the trophy system!(If not **** you capcom, it's not hard to flip the achievements into graphical ones)

:lol why do you pretend there are no contracts in the world? It is well known that Microsoft has the rights to first refusal on GoW sequels, and if you think Microsoft and other 3rd parties drop untold millions into Marketing and Distribution for these games without locking them in you're just an idiot. You'll see games like Gears of War on PS3 if and when Microsoft stops caring about them and agrees to it, no sooner.

I suppose you think Resistance and R&C are coming to 360 also?

ROFL... I love how a 360 version of a PS3 game always means a downgrade :lol

After seeing R&C Future and Drake's Fortune, do you blame him? The games look like a cartoon and a painting, respectively. I personally don't know of any 360 game that looks near as good.

The PS3 is newer and has better hardware: quite simple, really.

At any rate, I don't expect DMC4 to be tweaked to high heaven since it's now multiplatform. But, I do expect the lead version (re: the one on the console with the biggest user base) to look the best, since that one will make more money.

I don't think Capcom would bother....

From my understanding Epics owns the Gears of War IP, but Microsoft is the exclusive publisher since they front the money. So that means, they are locked into a relationship that is controlled by Microsoft in terms of distribution. At the end of the day, that means MS will only distribute on the PC and XBOX360.

And terms of distribution are limited/end at some point especially in a case where Microsoft doesn't own IP. That alone make the situation bad. Like I said, whenever their contractual duty is fufilled, Epic along with their IP can say adios to Microsoft. I would be suprised if Epic has a secret PS3 port already to go for whenever that occasion arrive.

Anyhow take it from someone who have signed contracts and NDA's for entities like Dell...business relationships like these are very limited, far limited than most people actually know. Not only that, but they are no different.

Neither is there a userbase to speak of.

Sexy! amazing Troll on troll action!

OT: I am think both games will be released at the same time. Really does seem that the game was planned multiplat from the beginning, or at least was considered...but released later or some such

peace

I'm sure MS had a contract for Jade Empire too, but now 2kgames are publishing it on PC. Though clearly Gears would be a lot closer to their chest. Contracts aren't unwavering and unending, I personally don't believe Epic would tie their IP into an perpetual contract with MS

Not entirely unexpected, I suppose. I'm uncertain as to why they continue to release PC versions of their games, though. Every PC port Capcom has released is completely terrible. Are people actually buying them?

Regardless, it's pretty clear with each passing day that Sony has made too many mistakes. There is no way they could recover at this point. It's over.

Hmm... Rachet is animated well, but it DOES lack textures. Drake's fortune (from what we've seen that isn't last year's E3 stuff) really looks like a barely souped up Tomb Raider. Neither game looks better than Gears. No multi-platform game looks better on the PS3. I really don't know how long you can hold on to the "PS3 is teh sexor grafixx" angle. From my perspective, they are almost even with the 360 holding an edge. Blu Ray is nice though. I just don't need it.

Take it from someone that have actually signed contracts and NDA's...I know they exist and they exist because its a requirment for every project I work on..some I cannot acknowledge their existance the average guy. Not only have I signed them, I know how they work right down to the legal mumbo jumbo.

As for Resistance and RC on the 360, how can they be when Sony owns the IP rights to them? Other than that this far different to where microsoft doesn't own the IP right...

:O Are you really dark10x and not someone else? (I agree, but that's only because I've been harping on the subject and preaching about this shit on this board for the last three years.)

R&C and Drake's Fortune look good, no doubt about that but way too early to say that they look better than any 360 game out or on the horizon.

The PS3 might have better hardware (we haven't seen anything really till now to prove it, most multi-platform games have actually been better on the 360), but experience with the hardware will give Capcom a good edge when working on the 360 version of DMC4.

DMC3 was NOT a disastrous port, dark. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. About FF7 level of porting quality.

Considering the hardware it was originally created for...it was a terrible port. As you say, however, it was one of the better ports. The OTHER games were MUCH worse.

Nah: both games are definitely technically better than anything else. My opinion of course, but the new Drake's Fortune pics are pretty clearly amazing.

4 months in and the PS3 is dead. Damn. There goes my $1000 CAD.

Why would you preach about your gaming preferences?
