The much loved and highly acclaimed BAFTA award-winning visual masterpiece Okami HD will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both physically and digitally and as a digital download for Windows PC across North America on December 12, 2017 for MSRP $19.99. Experience a tidal wave of colorful action by downloading the new trailer and assets from the press site here.

The original game, released to critical and consumer acclaim in 2006, was hailed as one of the most beautiful games ever created, and this latest release with its renowned Sumi-e ink art style is now even more breath-taking as the graphics have been updated to take advantage of modern high resolutions. Okami HD will be compatible with Xbox One X and PS4 Pro while featuring stunning 4K graphics on Xbox One X, PS4 Pro and supported PC hardware.

In Okami HD players take on the role of Amaterasu, the Japanese sun goddess who inhabits the form of a legendary white wolf Shiranui on a quest to defeat Orochi, an eight-headed demon and tyrannical monster responsible for turning the world into a ruined wasteland. Players must use Amaterasu's magical abilities and arsenal of items, attacks and Celestial Brush techniques to restore the land of Nippon to its previous glory full of life and color. Along the way, Amaterasu will be called upon to help a cast of quirky and intriguing characters and defeat a bevy of brutal enemies to rid the land of Orochi's curse.

Players will be able to choose between playing in a modern widescreen format or the original 2007 release's 4:3 ratio. Interactive loading game screens from the original game are also included, allowing players to earn bonus demon fangs which can be traded for in-game items.

They mention resolution but what about 60fps? If it's still locked to 30fps im out, don't care much about resolution

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.
I already finished the HD version on PS3 so i'm not gonna buy it again but i can not wait for Okami 2.

We know it's going to happen.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
Thats a great release for current-gen systems so that new players can pick it up. Could have been even better but still great.

Do we know who is working on the port?

I'd love 60+ FPS but I'd still buy at 30*. It's always nice to have stuff on PC for the forwards compatibility.

*Capcom typically does a good job with their PC ports so if there aren't any framerate improvements, I assume it's for a good technical reason.

I want a fast-forward mode like the recent re-release of Final Fantasy XII. This is a cool game that wastes the player's fucking time like it's air.

I also demand an IGN logo on the cover and title screen.

i wonder if this will fix what was wrong with the western PS3 version, iirc the credits are entirely different if you have your console set to anything but japanese

So the orginal X1/PS4 won't have the 4K functionality?

Also, any HDR?

they only output at 1080p max so i figure that 4K support won't be coming to them

$20 is a surprise. While Okami is worth more than that I suspect it at least reflects the effort put into the port, where most the legwork was already done for PS3.

Also worth noting that, for PS3, Hexadrive put the game's textures went through an algorithm/upscaler to make them faux-HD, similar to the Bioshock collection. Because of the game's stylised look it doesn't fare too badly, but it'd have been nice to have had hand-drawn upgrades.

$20 is in-line with the last gen HD port and every other HD port they had done outside Dragons Dogma. Had this been more than $20 it'd be a death sentence for the game.
Especially with the changes being small in scope.
