My favorite late night driving tactic for staying awake is to tune in to the oldies station. You may not care for what they're playing, but you're guaranteed to know every single song they play and can sing along with them. Of course, you'll know every single song on classic rock radio as well, but the long guitar solos can put you to sleep. I'd hate to be on the verge of nodding off in the dead of night when the Rick Wakeman Power Hour ("Three, count them, three of his greatest hits!") played.
