I wonder how much causation there is here. I was a self proclaimed 2-3 before I saw the list, and that's still about right now that I have seen it. However I grew up in a time when porn came in magazine or VHS form, and was therefore usually unaffordable for a teenager, unless you or one of your friends happened to get lucky and find a stash. For us then, even seeing a naked woman was pretty amazing, and seeing regular sex on video was incredible. Once I started using the internet in the mid 90s, my taste in porn more or less reflected the relatively "normal" porn I'd been exposed to. Maybe that's why ultimately I'm not very high on that scale. Would be good to see some proper studies on this.

On the other hand, if you grew up when the internet was ubiquitous, you could have every type of pornography available to you from an early age with a few clicks of a mouse. Viewing the wilder stuff from a young age possibly results in a tendency for preferences further up the scale. Would love to know if the internet can actually be seen as a cause for this though, or is just a correlation based on rule 34.

There are factors other than the internet involved with my kinkiness and general hyper sex drive that I'm not willing to talk about here but it definitely did shape some of my fetishes.
