One month from today: BioShock Infinite

Can't wait! Got this bundled with a video card. AMD's supposed to send out an email with a Steam code "as soon as the code is available". So I hope the means sometime prior to launch day. Need that preload!

I really hope this game sets another standard for storytelling

and that its world is special

If its worse than Bioshock 1 it is going to be a big letdown especially after so much time

Curious to know how preorders are going with this through GameStops. I need a midnight release. Havent attended one since Halo 4.

Steam is $60, or $45 if you get a Brazilian to help you. You get BioShock 1, Xcom, and TF2 items.
Brazilians, horrible to play Dota 2 with, helpful with game prices.

PSA: SalsaShark is the go-to GAFer if you're looking to pre-purchase on Steam for $45.

I suppose I'll hold off on the first two until I beat Infinite. I've already played them but I wanted to relive the experience.

Maybe. Idk :/

So, it occured to me the other day that this is my most anticipated "entertainment event" of this year.

That includes albums being released, films, TV shows etc. This trumps them all, easily.

Now that you mention this, I think games have been my most anticipated entertainment for probably 20 years. There's really nothing else I get giddy like a kid over anymore. I did get excited for Star Wars Episode 1 though, but... well, you know how that went.

Well at least you played them. I worry about the people who havent played either of them yet and want to jump into them now before release. I wouldn't want any burning out to occur that would hamper the enjoyment out of Infinite.

Yup that's my primary concern. I might just do a quick read up to refresh my memory instead.

It's close to the same for me too.

I remember in 2011, it was Arkham City. Looked forward to that more than anything else.

Yeah, I hope they give out the code a few days before release. My internet connection is pretty crappy, and I don't want to be still installing it on the 26th.

So hyped for some more Bioshock. I think The Last of US is the only other game this year i'm even close to being this excited about. Watching all of the trailers and previews has really got me trying to guess where the story is gonna go. Hopefully they will be able to top the Would You Kindly reveal and blow my mind.

Last of Us looks very compelling, I've been following it very closely and I don't even own a console.

I the handlebar mustache Handyman model officially out?

haven't seen it in a very long time, which i personally think sucks quite a bit because it was so wonderfully unique. i'm assuming it didn't quite fit the seemingly morbid backstory of the handymen but i still think it would've worked really well to 'sell' a handyman process to the people of columbia.

I for the life of me can't find the Pre-Order Season Pass for Bioshock Infinite on the US PS Store

I see it as BSI + Season Pass for $79.99, but no stand alone...

WHAT THE FUCK!?!

Can anyone help me here?

According to what Wells said in the Heavy Hitters video last year, yes. He said they tried a few different heads before they settled on "the one" which was the clean shaven/bald one first unveiled in that video. There was a some pretty vocal disappointment and bitching about it (mostly by me) but I don't think they gave a shit. My only guess is that they decided the mustache/coiffed version was too comical (or at least seemed too comical to the dudebros in their focus tests) and they wanted him to look more tragic. Whatever.

Wow its already up on PSN?

Maybe the standalone Season Pass will be available right on the 26th?

Robo, I got the Premium too. Probably gonna end up framing that lithograph. Also need that Skyhook replica!

I just want some real gameplay videos already.
Where a vending machine is visible to be precise.
This is driving me nuts.

That's a shame. If there are supposed to be several of them in the world though, it'd make sense to have a few variations (hell, even like the Rosies and Bouncer Big Daddies).

Does this link work for you? http://j.mp/ZmNhHF

Also, I need to get my gaf title changed, since I just started at Irrational on Monday of this week, so you'll be seeing a lot of me in the near future when it comes to BioShock Infinite and Irrational Games in general. :D

So we're all playing on Hard right? I don't have any interest in 1999 Mode...for an initial playthrough

I'd like my first playthrough to be with 1999 Mode enabled, however a couple of mates are also interested in the game, so I'll likely have to opt for Normal/Hard and save the former for a later playthrough by myself.

It's possible but I'm not counting on it. Only IG comment I've heard about it since the video was FartOfWar saying he personally thought the change was a good decision.

Nice

No I mean I can't Pre-Order the Season Pass

I already purchased a physical retail copy

I bought a $20 Network card just for the Season Pass, it's there on the store, but it's tied into a bundle, not stand alone

$59.99 for BSI Pre-Order
$79.99 for BSI + Season Pass Pre-Order

No $19.99 Season Pass Pre-Order Option (don't you get extra bonuses if you do this? or am I confused?)
I want to just get it done, that's all, hate seeing money in Network Wallet lol, get the itch to spend >.>;

RIP mustached Handyman

I was hesistant with this game due to all the shootbang and shaky development, but the recent videos (starting with the 5 min opening), changed my stance. Now I'm so damn hyped for this and the wait is unbearable.

Snagged the Songbird edition from Gamestop last month and it hasn't cancelled yet so *crosses fingers*

So that's the only Handyman? There aren't other types/designs?

Such a shame if that's the case. I was hoping we'd see moustached Handy make an appearance later in the game.

So far that's the only one they've shown since the redesign.

Anyway, here's a bit of a barebones impression from USA Today. The opening moments of the game are mentioned, so you may want to skip out if you don't want any plot details.

Voxophones, kinetoscopes, and salts (and how to obtain them) are mentioned, as well as the effects of possession. They also touch on the gameplay involving skylines.

Playing through the original BioShock again went back to easy mode to get the audio diaries and do some other achievements this game is still incredible.

Yeah I plat'ed it not too long ago finally. It took me years to finally break down and use a guide to find every single audio diary. That was always the one troph/cheev I was missing.

Thanks and thanks again for posting the link.

Some choice quotes that don't contain any spoilers.

As for combat, Infinite feels a lot like the original BioShock, so there was a sense of comfort despite visiting new surroundings. Players carry a weapon in their right hand, such as a pistol, machine gun or carbine. Plasmids have been replaced by Vigors, replenished by collecting salts through food or other items.

Two key wrinkles help diversify Infinite's combat, the first of which are skylines players use to hop between sections of the city. Glowing green orbs flash on skylines and buildings, allowing DeWitt to attach with his magnetically-charged Skyhook. Combining combat with skyline travel is tricky, and can leave you feeling a little disoriented at times. Once players get the hang of it, skylines kick up the pace and generate some dramatic sequences. It's also a great way to enter a fight, as you pounce on unsuspecting enemies from above.

Elizabeth will also react to her surroundings. She's also helpful by ... tossing health packs, and never feels like she gets in the way.

Interesting comment about green orbs on the skyline and building. I wonder what that means. Limited access to the skyline?

Thanks for the link. I really hope this game turns out great, I've been excited since the first trailer.

Ah, gotcha. I misunderstood your original request.

I don't currently see that option via the PS3 Digital Orders page, but it may still be coming as a separate purchase once the game releases. Let me try to dig around (email some people) on this and find an answer for you.

I can't believe how close this is! I cannot wait to journey through the brilliantly realized location of Columbia.

Played the game for like 2 hours today on a press event (PC version).... I really loved every second of it, the wait was worth it :)

We know how pretty it looks, but how does the combat feel? Did you get to fly around on some skyrails, tear open some objects, did the weapons look and sound good?
