Which Company Would You Sacrifice?

If choosing as a developer Bethesda Game Studios. Their stubborn use of a buggy outdated engine has arguably slowed progress in open-world RPG design, indirectly holding back broader innovation.

If choosing as a publisher then Rockstar. Their focus on massive ultra-polished blockbusters has set unrealistic expectations for budgets, timelines, and development scope, pushing the industry toward slower releases and risk-averse creativity.
Solid post.

This is a good one.

Its a toss up between modern Bethesda and naughty dog.

Naughty dog has never made game that impacted the industry like fallout and elder scrolls so ill have to choose Naughty Dog.

I never really played their games until Uncharted and I adore the first three but 4 was awful to me.

So yeah. Naughty Dog gotta go.

Question. Does it erase their old games because if not, its Naughty Dog easily. Because then I can still play uncharted 1 to 3 and lost legacy.
Nah, it doesn't erase the old games. One dev/publisher just stops and the others keep doing what they're doing.

Bye bye Naughty Dog. Your gaming "experiences" can be easily replaced by a B tier Netflix series' writing staff and binge watching their newest slop. I can also grind out some good games whilst watching them too.

Why create divisive games instead of beloved games? For what purpose exactly?

That you'd even ask that shows you don't have a creative bone in your body.

The short answer is that if you follow what you perceive to be the audience's wants and not your own, it tends to be pretty obvious that its creatively treading water, or worse comes across as insincere and pandering. Also, its a dead-end. You can't surprise people by giving them what they expect.

Creatives should be encouraged to make what they want to make, not what the market expects.

EDIT: And another moron who uses the LOL emoji in place of cogent argument joins my blist.

Not in a genre and in a medium aimed at a large EXISTING audience which seeks entertainment and not GOTCHA PROVOCATION. But I guess you probably fancy yourself an AUTER like Druck.

Crearives definitely should not be given free reign the way you suggest.
