he probably wants kidd to submit to him like apoo and hawkins did. here we see the difference between luffy and kaido. he forces pirates to be under him and people willingly join luffy. perhaps in the end all the supernovas under kaido break away from him and join luffy. my biggest question is if the plans to go against shanks are cancelled. if they are then maybe blackbeard is the one to go against him and christmas comes early for blackleg-sanji and shanks gets taken down. i think dragon prevents the confrontation with blackbeard from becoming a full scale war by offering something in return.

Would definitely be an interesting contrast, and off the top of my head I can't think of a villain in OP that has done that yet.
As for Shanks, no idea. We need to learn more about what he's after or what his motivations are.
Regardless of who he fight, BB will be on top just due to the way the story is going. I could see the revo battle being a stalemate.

kaido probably doesn't really have any motivation to keep kid alive other than oda hvaving other plans for him,and this being onepiece where very rarely people die

but we have really no idea what kaido is like apart from some third party comments and a little of dialogue from him..so he might just have appreciated kid's pride and kept him alive..in the end from what we know about him,his story is also one of numerous defeats and him keeping coming back and refusing to die

So my friend and I just had an interesting discussion. What if Apoo (and maybe Hawkins) were already aligned with Kaido from the start?

If Jack and Apoo had a pre-existing line of communication, then that would been that Apoo would have already been in touch with Jack before he attacked Zou. As we know, Jack was on Zou several days prior to Luffy beating Doflamingo and before the time-skip even began. Therefore, Apoo would have had a line of communication with Jack before his meeting with Kid and Hawkins.

Also, if you think about Hawkins and his probability/fortune-telling voodoo bullshit, maybe that's how Jack was able to locate Zou consistently, making him an accomplice. If you think about it, how did Jack figure out where Doflamingo was post-dresrossa? He always seems to know where to go.

There are several holes in this, which make me skeptical. You could argue that Jack learned about Apoo/Hawkins/Kid after he left Zou from Kaido, since it was a certain amount of days to get from Zou->Doflamingo's escort. Also, Jack could just be using Vivre Cards and has some for people on Zou and Doflamingo himself. Finally, I'm not sure what the point of Apoo and Hawkins trying to form an alliance with Kid would be if they were already with Kaido.

That all being said, if Kid is being held prisoner atm on Wano as opposed to being killed then there may be something going on here we don't know of. The only other connection I can think of is Kid attacking Scotch (underling of Kaido) near the beginning of the time-skip.

about jack knowing where doffy was there are two very plausible explanation

1)being doffy a business partner,they have a vivre card with his name so that they can find him when they want..doffy has no problem giving them one because he has no intention of interrupting the business relationship.

2)the only place where they can bring doffy is impel down..no other place can take the guy into custody,and the route from dressrosa to the prison it's pretty starightforward,from dressrosa to fishman island (with an eternal pose),from fishman island to marineford and then through the tarai current to impel down..no reason to take any other route since it's a waste of time,so once you know the exact route,you pretty much ony have to wait for when they show up

I am saying doffy is going to be narrating on world events through prison, but he will eventually get out like croc.

the island was not conveniently placed..you have to go a long way to reach the sky islands (as gan fall explained back in skypiea)..so it's not something you stumble upon while traveling from one place to the other..is a place when you go on purpose,and also knowing it's there,something impossible to do from the sea level

i'm no japanese expert,but would even more formality mean distance instead of familiarity?familiarity is when you use an informal style..if he is being overly formal he is distancing himself from kaidou even more than usual...
