One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 Gameplay (Miihawk, Buggy, Tashigi and Smoker)

guess I've caught up on a decent amount of One Piece - I actually know all of these characters

how many playable characters is this game supposed to have?
 
Nice to see Buggy's still rocking his Buggy for getting to other places fast from Pirate Warriors 2

The number hasn't been confirmed but I think in a interview they stated the whole roster from Pirate Warriors 2 would be in there (which was about 37 although some were pre/post timeskip strawhats as separate characters) plus we've had a few new character reveals for this so seems like it'll be pretty massive.

Man, I love Buggy Impel Down onwards. Seeing him having so much luck during those arcs was a lot of fun.

I've only played the original and its awesome (platforming aside). Sequels removed so it must be even better.

And hopefully this one will cover most story arcs.

Is there a site that tracks all the known playable characters, settings and story arcs?
I remember people complained that the characters don't wear the outfits of the respective arcs, is that because they only come with one default look? (so you don't see Luffy age etc.?)

It seems PW3 covers much more (story) content than the other two games, does that also mean it will be longer or will they just shorten the story parts to the bare minimum?

Oh and I know it's a musou game but they should include AC style ship gameplay to go from island to island. /OP dream game

Tashigi actually looks pretty cool. Like a combination between Brook and Mihawk. I hope that tripping isn't something that happens randomly though. Smoker looks like he might actually be decent in this game, and smoke seems to have a new effect on enemies. Mihawk's sword is now glowing (I don't think it did that before) and Buggy has one or two new moves, otherwise they look mostly the same.

Cool. It looks like it's not just animal-form Lucci too! Who the guy to the right of Bellamy and left of Daz? Is that Kalgara? I can't tell, but in either case I NEED Kalgara!

The One Piece wikis track it all.

Haven't heard any complaint about the outfits, but the only reason they're not wearing different costumes for each arc is because it's too much work to make the costumes.

It's Wiper, Kalgara's descendent.

Also, Gematsu (the website I linked) has all the news thus far too, with videos and scans. Just follow said link and click the one piece warriors 3 tag.
 
I haven't kept up with this game, but (slight OP spoilers)
I'm surprised they're still the pre-timeskip Smoker and Tashigi. Is the game still using the younger designs for everyone?

Strawhats and Law all appear to be post time skip. I guess it will vary depending on each character.

Smoker was post-time skip in PW2, and will probably have both pre- and post-time skip in this game. In the video, you can see Smoker using his new haki gatling-gun-like attack, which he didn't have pre-time skip.

Most playable characters who have appeared post-time skip in a major arc will probably have a post-time skip costume.
 
It's possible pre-timeskip designs will be costumes/skins now instead of separate characters (that was one of the more annoying things about PW2, it claims to all these characters, but 9 of them are just pre-timeskip Straw Hats). At least the two different Blackbeards made sense.
 
I think the pre-timeskip straw hats are still alternate characters as you can see PTS Luffy have a different combo compared to current Luffy, plus it wouldn't make sense for PTS Luffy to have Red Hawk or Elephant Gun.

Yeah of course, the strawhats are most definitely still split up into two different characters. Other characters like Smoker doesn't seem to be.

Yeah. The different versions will probably share the same moveset outside a few attacks, some finishers and a bunch of special stuff.

The versions shown are the PS4 ones, right? Loved the smoke in Smoker video. It looked quite anime-y
