One Piece Thread (redux)

I don't get it. I thought the manga cover arc for CP9 was about them
redeeming themselves and fighting the Navy
.
Why would they join CP0, aren't they even worse? Not to mention Spandam being demoted (?) yet ending up in a more prestigious group? He can't even fight.

CP0 works directly under the world nobles, not the navy.

Of course, the navy is the military arm of the World Government, which was founded by the celestials, so...

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
CP0 should have just been new guys. In fact I hope it is, and it's just those three who are back

Rebel Leader

THE POWER OF BUTTERSCOTCH BOTTOMS
I don't really buy that theory. We (I think) don't know exactly what's possible with Observation Haki, but him being able to fly from Dressrosa to Punk Hazard with the clouds doesn't seem possible to me if he couldn't see. Fujitora kind of confuses me. He usually walks extremely slow, feeling out the ground in front of him, but he's also gone really fast on stone barely hovering above the ground.
In one eye

Doffy was always hit on his a side when he was fighting luffy

I don't remember Kaku in the manga....not sure why, only seem to have remembered Lucci and Spandam.

It wasn't obvious from the translation. He was only on the other end of the phone. Someone said in Japanese his speech patterns matched Kaku's, but that doesn't come across in English.

Doffy always has the most epic speeches, got me chills for what's to come.the voice actor always killing it there performance I can see why this is currently the second highiest rated anime in japan.

Going to miss doffy, guy needs his own radio show in impel down.

Someone crazy enough to attack a marine ships with a vice admiral, admiral and ex-marine commander sengoku

Superfun episode barto crew is a riot.takara isamu doing good job as new animation director.

One piece film gold has finally finished production
letter by oda about One Piece Film Gold in official website.
http://i.imgbox.com/vk8iaXol.jpg

Oda says that the producing of Film Gold has finally completed. Oda and the staffs have already watched the premiere preview.
He also says it's been a long time since they started producing Film Gold.

After watching the preview,
Oda: OMG!! We've made an awesome film again!! I hope everyone can enjoy this film as soon as possible!

LetkIAIt.png

other detials

- Staffs started planning this film in summer 2013. In 2014, they specified the stage as Casino and Entertainment city.

- Director Miyamoto suggested to create a Big Band Jazz film.

Oda says he can't help creating ONE PIECE film in the future despite him having said several times that he doesn't want to get involved in it.

What's interesting in the special volume 777 for movie there giving away, it's shows that Oda actually did a lot of storyboarding for this movie a task which is normal done by a Director.

Going to wait for new opening to be avalible in a decent quality, cause the only that's out there quality is absloutely shit, can't see shit.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
Hey guys are they at.................oh it's filler

Yep... and to make this conflict possible, Luffy is trapped in a giant marble, Bartolemeo's hands are trapped in some sticky stuff, and the rest of the crew is missing. Otherwise they'd clown all over everyone.

So silver filler guy works for gold guy from the movie?

That big-head batman-thing was in this episode and is on the movie poster art.
But how will Sanji etc join for the movie without breaking the canon?!

Unless they pull another Strong World and set the movie before the current anime timeline again. (which could be why silver guy wants to go after Luffy, for defeating gold guy?)

The movie is non-canon even to the anime. Just like every movie.

The movie characters may exist in the world but the adventure Luffy has with them/against them is more of a what if. For example, Shiki from Strong World exists in both the manga and anime but the actual events of Strong World never occur in either the anime or manga canon. So in this case, Gold guy exists in the anime universe but Luffy will never encounter him as the events in Film Gold are non-canon.

I guess I meant more in-universe than specifically anime/manga canon.

There are only like two movies and a few specials that drastically contradict established events (e.g. the movie about meeting chopper with Franky etc. being there) or are set in a different setting altogether (eg. Boss Luffy stuff).

Everything else from any medium (besides some minor errors here and there) could usually fit into one giant timeline. At least that's how I have it set up in my head.

Yeah I'm not really feeling the new OP. I like everything shown once Kaido shows up but not the part of the song that's playing then.

Edit: remove the stupid water fight and I like what's shown in it. Song isn't great though.

The filler villain has the Smelt Smelt Fruit
I'm reminded of the classic HK subs line. "He smelted the edge... on the goog"

I also feel like all of the movies can easily happen. It's one of the things I love about them compared to the Dragon Ball Z movies. Let's speculate:

Captain Kuro -> Movie 1 -> Baratie/Arlong -> Movie 2 -> Logue Town -> Baroque Works/Drum -> Movie 3 -> Arabasta -> Movie 4 -> Jaya/Skypiea -> Movie 5 -> Movie 6 -> Movie 7-> Davy Back -> Water 7/Enies Lobby -> Movie 10 -> Sabaody -> literally everything else until Fishman Island -> Movie 11

I like all of the movies, especially 4 and onward, and they're better than anime filler. Movies 5, 6, and 10 are by far the best, although 6 is a bit weird. Check out this Movie 5 color spread by Oda.

People really need to go back and watch movie 9 it's ridiculously underrated.

the 3D CG 30 min One piece Mugiwara chase had no right being as good as it was, luffy was pretty much spiderman in that movie and it had a really great choreographed team final climax fight.

Does anybody know how many filler chapters will be? I think the fillers between Fishman Island and Punk Hazard where 4, same with Punk Hazard and Dressrosa.

I also hope they return to 2 manga chapters per anime episode like in the old days in the Zou arc. But that's too much to ask for.

Damm fillers... Isn't there a special 2 hour episode based on the Gold movie in 2 weeks? I hope they start with Zou after that the latest.

BTW, does any of you guys live in Germany? I'm moving there the next 2 months, and I've heard it's totally illegal to download torrents, and you could get fined if they catch you. Which is the best way to watch the latest OP episodes? Am I exagerating and there's no problem with torrents? Thanks

It's finally here, here the ONE PIECE animation highlight reel for the Dressrosa ARC

One piece Dressrosa Sakuga video

Toei really didn't mess around for the Animation for this arc, a lot of new animators developed themselfs this arc into becoming the next generation of animation super stars.

Hopefully this keeps fans quite for at least week about we never get any good animation(who am I kidding).

Got quarter way through the video and that meteor bit in the green bit with Issho dropping them was insanely well done. I think the main thing people say one piece has bad animation for it is like key moments sometimes, like when Issho and Doffy take Law up on those floating rocks. Seeing how it looked like in the manga compared the anime where it barely got some of the faces right turns some off. Overall I love mostly anything one piece so I enjoy both.

The episode with the final blow against Doflamingo having arguably the worst animation in the entire arc still bothers me some. It's one of the moments that stands out the most to me from Dressrosa.

The video was great. It barely touched on my favorite scene in the arc though with Doflamingo about to stomp on Law's head and Luffy sticking his foot out. I'd actually like to get an avatar of that shot but I'm not sure if that would fly here.

Yeah they got the early moments right but then fucked up some of the best ones.

I will never get over them ruining the true God Usopp moment. WHY THE FUCK DO YOU NEED TO SHOW HIM IMAGINING WHAT'D HAPPEN IF HE FAILED

He's supposed to be a cool guy there, not a pathetic wreck. He takes out the slingshot and just FUCKING DOES IT, he doesn't agonize about it for 5 minutes.

Toei is taking all the padding techniques they learned from DBZ and amplifying them for One Piece.
"This is a Super Padding. This is a Super Padding that's ascended beyond a Super Padding, or a Super Padding 2.
... And this, is to PAD EVEN FURTHER BEYOND! AAAADD MORE SCENES! SLOW WALKING! CHARACTERS STARING AT NOTHING! REACTION SHOTS! KEEP SHOWING BELLAMY BOUNCING AROUND!"

Episode 749

Next week should be the end of the filler.

Hold on, Luffy is fighting a guy that uses heat... god damn it, this is just the Ice Hunter arc again. Is Toei that uncreative that they just made the same villain?

Doesn't look like we'll see 4th gear again until Zou. Is Kin'emon's ability to cut through flames a regular ability or something specific to his devil fruit?
Being caught up on the manga, it's not been elaborated on any more, but it's not part of his Devil Fruit powers, as I don't see how making clothes would provide that ability.

According to next week's preview, Luffy has a hidden ability? What the hell is Toei doing?

Even if that ability is used in the Gold film, produced and supervised by Oda, why is Toei spoiling it?

Also the animation of the three girls when trapped by Peseta, and then saved by Zoro... Damm it Toei

I'm finally catching up and just watched two episodes about people running away and pushing the Birdcage. Please tell me One Piece gets better again. Please?

That arc is almost over. The conclusion is pretty good and all the post arc stuff is good like post arc stuff usually is for One Piece.

Aren't we getting a special today? I wonder if we get the regular episode as well. The last few specials still aired the regular episodes I believe.

*checks Arlong Park* There is a special. It's called "Heart of Gold". No word on CR or Funi streaming (it's likely they will, they streamed the last few specials).
Checking the Wiki, we are getting a new episode as well. Good, the sooner we get to
___Zou___
the better.
