Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
lol why would you do such a thing.

"New arc = new viewers" I'm guessing. I mean, Dressrosa was a long ass time (even longer compared to the manga).
But still, it was pointless. They reanimated everything before Water 7 and it looked off. They also recolored Robin's skin pre-timeskip to be white instead of tan. I know that's the canon color but it looked weird.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
Feels like a waste of runtime to introduce the straw hats like somehow people need to be reminded of who they are, so now we dont get to episode content until the 6th minute mark
Better than the padding Dressrosa had...

Uhm, just finished watching and that was seriously one of the better episodes I've seen in a long time. Sure, the climb up the elephant was a little drawn out but the payoff was even better in the anime then it was in the manga.

The music was on point and that tracking shot of Luffy looking out over the city was classic AdventurePiece. And the animation was pretty good too throughout the episode. There were a lot of nice .gif moments too. Think I might make a few if I don't see someone else do it. Like the elephant walk and the climb up the elephant contrasted against the sunset was some artistic shit that I'm not used to seeing in Toei-piece. And Carrot's blitz to Zoro and the ending was well-done too.

So yeah, good stuff. Has me cautiously optimistic that Toei won't Toei-up this arc.

You must of missed out on dressrosa then it had a ton of great episode, especially the episode directored by komaki aya, she only knows how to put out 10 or 11/10, any time she's involved the episode far surpasses the source material it was based on.

Caught up to 707

Goddamn at Law's backstory.
Sister, burned alive while she waited for her bro, the nun and all the children slaughtered on the street, finding his gunned down parents in the house.

Christ, like what the fuck?! This isn't just dark for One Piece, but for any anime I've ever seen.

Poor Law :'(

Booked my ticket for watching the Gold movie. Anyone else watching it in Bishan (SG) today? :D

Movie was great and entertaining (heh), although the setting is not for me (I don't like those fun islands as sets for big serious plots in general and I think a big modern city clashes a bit too much with the rest of the OP world). From my point of view the animation was also really good and it was cool seeing One Piece on the big screen (first time for me). Audience even had one girl in Law cosplay haha.

I liked:
- the heist stuff, very cool style and was basically Ocean`s 11.
- Nami having had a partner in crime and the ongoing revelations on which side they are really on (phantom thief was a good conclusion for the movie)
- every strawhat got to show their powers/abilities, maybe only chopper was underused.
- giving Tesoro his backstory in flashes was pretty good. He's already a goner/became to crazy but the moments of him hesitating were great. Though you would think as someone who lost his love interest and became a slave to the Celestial Dragons he wouldn't play nice with them even now (why was he arrested at the end though, his agreements with the Marines etc. should still stand).

I disliked:
- CP0 and the revolutionary army had literally no point of being in the movie at all, I think they just put them in to feature Sabo in the trailer. They literally never meet any of the movie characters or the strawhats apart from the encounter with Spandam.
- I still don't get why Lucci is back with the marines/world Government. Escorting the Celestial Dragons around can't be his desire...
- no connection to the anime filler and special, apart from knowing who Mad Treasure is in the flashback I guess.

edit: Oh and new episode!

I knew this episode was going to be good, but it turned out way better then I imaged.

this doesn't make any sense the director/storyboarder is a newbie, it's his first time storyboarding he can't be that good.

Now I really want to see what the minks are like under a full moon...in about 2+ years lol

Usopp's constant fear was the best part.
If you say so. I don't mind a little bit of his character. But I'v always found him annoying after awhile.

It's not ruining my enjoyment tho of this arc. Loved it in the manga and loving it so far in the anime.

Someone muzzle usopp for the rest of this arc plz.

Loving this arc so far.

Both of my thoughts on this episode and arc pretty much.

This was a great episode again this week.

I'm glad Tomita showed up again with some fresh sakuga quality. 👌

And Usopp did NOT have that many lines in the manga chapter, so blame Toei for padding out that scene.

Carrot either has insane Observation Haki or really good eyesight if she was able to see/sense Usopp and troll him. I didn't know that the rest of the Straw Hats were already at Zou when we briefly saw them awhile ago. A little weird we haven't seen Brook yet. I have an idea of what happens to Sanji from loosely following the manga thread but have no idea what happened to Brook. We also know nothing yet of what happened to Caesar (probably captured by Big Mom) or the girl who was teased before.

Just watched Heart of Gold thinking it was the Movie One Piece Gold.

...It was absolute rubbish. Luckily I realised it wasn't the movie around half way through and began fast forwarding to the end.

She didn't know he was looking. Usopp saw them at just the right time, which leads to funny misunderstandings.

It's actually a good special. But you've already fast-forwarded through most of it, so whatever.

Rewatched the newest episode and a few parts of older ones. Brook briefly appeared in the preview for next week in a huddle with Luffy and the others so he seems fine. Jack was namedropped in episode 746 as the one about to attack the Navy ships with Doflamingo, and his ships sail had the same symbol of the belt buckle Sanji saw after he beat the sheephead guy in 739 that was foreshadowing something. I didn't realize they were at Zou already. Sanji told Caesar to do something and I assumed he caused the rainruption. I don't think Jack's crew works for Big Mom as it sounded like they were after Momo.

The buckle Sanji saw should honestly clue you in to exactly who Jack works for

Heart of Gold is better than a good half of the actual OP movies.

wrote a review for heart gold but never posted it, yeah it's pretty good by subverting expections, it's a treasure hunt movie with refreshing/fun side characters oulg& mad treasure. Can't complain it's good set up movie for the cinema movie.

3D2Y is up there with the best one piece movies (world is the best movie villain so far), it's still the special to beat.

I'd probably put Heart of Gold above 3D2Y. Agree that World is the best villian in any of them I've seen (just the ones on Crunchyroll), but I didn't really like how it played out. Luffy gets destroyed by him at 30 times speed, but in the rematch he's suddenly able to keep up with him at 100 times speed.
