Producer Akihito Kadokwaka and director Satoru Nihei give us a closer look at Onimusha's eerie Edo-period Kyoto, new protagonist, and swordlplay and soul-sucking action before it officially releases later in 2026.

the full trailer is a hoax :messenger_tears_of_joy:

I have to replay the games someday because i don't remember anything. I was thinking it would be with Samanosuke but it's a new protagonist.

Bought my ps2 way back in the day specifically for Onimusha Warlords. Glad to say it was more than worth it and is an all time favourite, as is Onimusha 2. Really looking forward to this on PC.

Capcom as ever have their finger on the pulse. I want an enjoyable experience, not another Demons Souls or fucking Sekiro that should come with a blood pressure warning.

I don't find any enjoyment dying 99 times, only to barely scrape by 1 times, when fighting bosses.

Capcom games hit a good, happy medium in regards to difficulty.

Why tell us that you disabled the dismemberment? Why show anything if you were not ready? Also, it's not Samanoske and the OG actor who mocaps and voiced in English and Japanese. Should I care?

Sounds kinda Souls inspired. They're setting it in Kyoto but it's before the Shinsengumi were a thing so that's interesting. Also I never played Onimusha for "sword fights" you mostly take down goons. I need to see more before I make proper judgement. I want to support but I'm dubious rn for sure.

'we're not trying to make an impossibly difficult game...'

well, now, that's refreshing...

Yeah seemed a way to say it won't be a Souls-like but more accessible like the other games in the series and imo it's the right way to go.
They have their own identity with the series they don't need to be Nioh with better graphics.
