OnLive x Google TV x LG. Rise from the grave?

BBC has the story

One of a handful of firms making hardware for Google TV. LG's G2 series sets have Google's TV service built in.

Rather than using a dedicated device, OnLive's cloud-based gaming service relies on fast net links to let people play popular video games on demand.

People using Google TV via an LG set will get OnLive via an update and it will be standard on all future devices.
This follows on from stories earlier in the year that Sony Google TV's may support OnLive. Sony dropped OnLive assumedly in favour of the newly acquired Gaikai. Aside from a few hints nothing has been announced. I guess they don't want to step on the PlayStation brand's toes. Maybe Sony will make a Gaikai app for their own Google TV.

Not quite sure why this isn't just standard for all "smart" TVs given that OnLive has struggled to gain mass appeal. My experience so far with the Samsung ones have been pretty crappy but reports are that a lot of people are buying them anyway.
