The movie no question is a difference maker in the super hero movie scene, the super hero tv shows are a different situation.

meant to be his nod to the ambiguity of the comic's ending, though it's far more optimistic than the GN's pessimism, one of the main reasons why I think people are full of shit when they say Lindelof gets Watchmen better than Snyder

I’m in the crowd that sort of lost interest by the last episode, but I thought the first several episodes were full of emotional beats and interesting concepts. The flashback episode was great too.

I tell people all the time how season 2 of The Leftovers may be the best season of a TV show ever.

For a largely meaningless show, the character arcs and the search for meaning somehow ends up being really interesting. Agree. Also, I felt it ended strongly, especially the last 20 minutes, which felt like "the point" of wallowing in self-perspective.

I just finished watching it for the first time. I never read the comic, didn't see the movie, and honestly don't know shit about any of it.

I thought it was fucking outstanding, loved every minute of it, am sad that there won't be a season 2, but find it refreshing that a good show isn't being dragged out over multiple years to milk a cow that doesn't need to be milked.
