the Mortal Kombat demo is awesome, Beat Down's ok, reminds me of River City Ransom, found Hulk & Psychonauts unplayable cause of their framerates

Yikes, you can tell it's been a slow summer, looking at that list of reviews. None of those really interest me (Although the completist in me is telling me to get Makai Kingdom before it disappears, as I have the other 3 NIS SRPG's)

what's the deal with this Hulk game?

Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction: 4.5
^

If you can't enjoy this game, you don't have a soul.

Free roamin' kinda like Spider-Man 2, but with a deeper emphasis on BEAT SHIT UP RRRRGH CRUSH and lesser on HALP MY BALLOOOOON.

I loved the two Darkwatch demo's (on Xbox). Can't imagine why they gave it a lower score than some of those other shit games.

I thought the Beatdown demo was pretty fun. Reminded me of River City Ransom also. The 1vs1 fights were an interesting twist as is recruiting people to fight with you.

It doesn't look like Makai will disappear. Its distribution is quite generous in comparison with some other recent Atlus titles.

I keep telling myself someday I will buy FMA2...and Shining Tears. Now is the perfect time, but MEEEEEEEEEEHHHHHH.

Another game that Play got me really excited about, that gets a bad score.

Hopefully, it's an isolated score.

Same here. Regardless of Halverson's requisite sploog-fest for a review, it seemed like a decent old school FPS. I really liked the demos.

The frame rate on the Hulk demo was atrocious, but hopefully that gets ironed out as the game seems like a shitload of fun.

I was also surprised to find that I enjoyed the MK demo... though if they don't add sounds for attacks connecting, it will suck. I admit to completely feeling dirty having enjoyed the little I played though.

Yea, Hulk demo is timed, and has a pretty horrible framerate. You can complete some hidden objectives to extend time slightly though.

Mortal Kombat demo was pretty neat. Woulda made a FAR better "story" mode inside Deception last year. It's gonna have to be jam packed with content for a $50 commitment, but it looks to blow Nina Williams' game and Tekken 5's 'Devil Within' out of the water if that is saying anything.

Ok, I don't know if the rest of this demo disc sucks or not, but the Advent Children Trailer was worth the price of admission. I don't know if it is the same one as on Steamboy, but it is different than the original trailer I saw. Tons of action in it dammmmmmmmmmmn.

Just watched it again. I noticed at the end of the trailer it said simultaneos release.

September 13 for North America September 14 for Japan.

Haven't played it, yet. Playing the Shaolin Monks demo right now. Pretty damn fun. Good graphics, 60 fps locked, decent amount of moves. I even notice you get experience points. The dynamic camera seems to handle the action well, too. Too bad Ko-op (Figures haha) isn't enabled in the demo. Could be some good two player fun!

Ok what the hell. The fatalities in the demo have been removed. When you do a fatality a screen pops up and says "Contents of game have been removed in demo due to violent nature. Final release is M rated game bla bla bla". The funny part is you match up with Baraka at the end of the demo. There is this huge violent scene and they cut the whole thing with the same warning message but you can still hear the audio of whats happening. :lol

yeah that was awesome, no way they could match what i was picturing in my head :lol

Yeah Hulk is pretty damn fun. I may get it on Xbox. Evil Dead...well, they say if you don't have anything good to say don't say iit at all.

And yet you can pick up a sword in the demo and literally slice dudes in half without the ESRB protecting us from the sight of bone and sinew.

Yeah, true! :lol

I'm not really feeling Beat Down too much. The recruiting aspect is cool, but the transition between running around and fighting seems clumsy. Plus the attacks seem slow compared to Shaolin Monks. The one on one battles are intriguing but overall I'd have to say I'm disappointed with the action in the demo.

I'll probably get MC3 for PSP here soon when it gets cheap. Thats a good score.

Hope you love obscenely long and frequently appearing loading screens that last as long as the gameplay segements.

PSP games are flopping left and right while DS is getting some great games. Glad I held off on buying a PSP.

Yeah, PSP is going through a bit of a drought now, just like DS was doing for about 6 months. Fortunately PSP had some good games at launch, and since I just got a used one, I'll get caught up on those (have MVP, and Ridge Racer). Hopefully Sony steps it up soon though. GTA, Medieval, Infected, and Madden better deliver.

Shaolin monks is like jade empire + god of war. Not really as good as them, but it's definately something I'd rent, or buy when cheap. The hulk game is also very fun. Cool stuff is always going down no matter what you do.

Mixed feelings on the Hulk demo. I wish developers would stop with the collection rubbish and just play off of the obvious design attributes of the character. For example in the first game, failing puzzles did nothing to frustrate Banner. Having a "frustration gauge" would have added a layer of depth to the game as you'd have to manage your stress and not screw up, or else you'd Hulk out and blow the level.

Not to mention IIRC, Hulk used to get stronger the more enraged he became.

Blah blah - this one is a step up from the last; but I'm kinda indifferent about it.

If you're interested in a copy of the demo, first PM w/ mailing address gets it. They sent me two disks this month.
