Latest episode was funny as hell. Tatiana sure earns that paycheck.

Speculation on who the suit/fedora guy that saved the russian was:
I'd have to watch it again, but the body type sure looked like Sarah's bestie, Jordan Gavaris. Another line of clones maybe?

Speculation:
Yeah, I thought of it being a clone of Felix if only because they are hiding the person's identity and it didn't look like it could be Tatiana. There aren't many other realistic suspects.

Man so far I look forward to this show a lot more than Doctor Who. Past several Who episodes have been dull as hell.

Just making my way through ep2 now...
Can't stand how the partner is refusing to hand over her money, makes no sense why he'd with hold it.

I LIKE this idea, but... would
the actor be able to handle it? I mean he's good.. I'm convinced of that, but is he as good as the lead to handle a multi character situation?

Seriously. Not only is Tatiana Maslany playing 6+ unique clone characters, but at times, some of the clones are actually impersonating some of the other clones: Sarah ---> Beth, Sarah ---> the German, Helena ---> Beth, Allison ---> Sarah. YO DAWG I HEARD YOU LIKE CLONES. And yet, she sells it every time. Tatiana Maslany is a revelation.
Ha ha, perfect. I hadn't thought much about other clones acting as Sarah/Beth until this week's episode. This show is bananas and it keeps on getting better.
I had a bit of an idea of how they did it but still, that's crazy.
I'm glad they put that video out because I was curious what the process was for putting all three in the same scene. Crazy indeed.

Becuase she was/is acting squirrely. A flight risk. The fact that she had 75k in cash alone should tip anyone off, let alone a detective.

Anyone, really enjoyed ep 3. The clones acting like other clones was great. Main cast, Tatiana and the guy playing the best friend, are killing it.

Does anyone think this could wind up on Netflix quickly like Top Of The Lake did?

Or should I get the Amazon Season Pass for it?

I wouldn't bet on it, but I don't know what BBCA's relationship with Netflix is like. Being Human (US) is up for streaming, but I'm not sure how prompt they were about putting that up. You're probably better off getting a season pass unless you're ok with waiting a while for it.

I caught up on the most recent episode yesterday. Really enjoyed it. I liked that they gave Allison something to do instead of just being abrasive.

I didn't even realize this was just a BBCA production. I'd been avoiding this thread on Saturdays when I saw it pop up since I figured it was airing in Britain first like Dr Who does.

I think US & Canada get the first crack at new episodes on Saturday nights, so you're safe here. Though it seems like most people are DVRing it judging on when the comments come in this thread.

I just started watching the first episode and the one question I have to ask: Does her accent get any better? Her "common as muck" British/English just sounds... off.

It's almost like the uncanny valley of accents.

I thought it did but I don't have an ear for this sort of thing.

I was born across the pond. Lived there for many years of my life. Tatiana and Jordan's cockney accents were good enough to have me convinced they were actually English actors on a Canadian TV show. Knowing that just makes it even more interesting.

For some reason I find Alison looking pretty hot in those pants.

Yes, she did.

Tonight's episode did a good, not great job of illuminating the purpose of these other men in the lives of the clones. Paul continues to be a dummy, a step behind everyone in his role as a monitor. The guy who paid him a visit at his office is the same guy that picked up Helena, right? Alison's husband is using porn as a cover for not having sex with his monitored wife. He at least knows what he's in for and that adds to the conspiracy/mystery they've been developing.

The German lady in Minnesota with Cosima is definitely shady. All those good grades, but she still got confused with the term that Cosima there at her. Probably another mole in the midst.

Different elements continue to get introduced that are keeping the characters on their toes. Half way through the season and it's no longer a cakewalk for clone club.

More than Tat's, I think Jordan's tats is dead on. Was totally surprised when I heard his natural voice in bts video. I pegged him as a brit for sure.

AHHHHHHH shit is getting so crazy but I can't stand the Vic scenes and the promos the past few weeks have been leaving me with more dread than anticipation.

Does Canada hand out Purple Hearts, or is Paul an American? (Liked how he wanted to run away far off to escape his duties.)

I'm always fascinated by Cosima's huge, warm apartment and how much hotter she is compared to her sisters.

Scary to think they're all getting regularly examined like that. This show's going into conspiracy TV territory, where the immediate villains are limited and they have to peel back the layers, although it's happening really quickly.

I learned that if your SO started bangin' you all raw out of nowhere, try not to question it.

The Vic character is unnecessary baggage. I hope he gets a Tarantino death.
He is useless but I did liked Allison talking with Sarah about him Allison: He was...urban. Sarah: What the hell does that mean? Allison: Not white!
I think it that there are two different groups fighting for the clones. One is a religious group trying to kill all the clones and the other is the monitor group. It wouldn't make sense that the monitor group started killing their clones if they are just checking their health. Also, the guy that picked the killer clone looked older than the one talking to Paul.

I wouldn't call them cockney accents, but anyway... his is fine but Tatiana's accent fluctuates.

I'll give her a pass and say that her accent is the result of her character spending a long time in Canada/northern America.

The girl with Cosima who has good grades is not German, she is French hehe...man,everything kinda came tumbling down in this episode for Sarah but she is coping with it,so far, pretty well...

I am mystified. Halfway through the second episode, and I can barely watch it. Shocked by people laughing at The Following but genuinely enjoying this.

I enjoy both, they're both a bit silly but only one takes itself seriously. Thats the problem I think people have with The Following. It's not that it's trying to be more than it is, it's that it thinks it is.

OB invites you to laugh at it, and even invites you. Vic is definitely a source of comic relief most of the time and im confident it's intentional. Most of his scenes tend to center around humor.

While I do find Vic grating, I was less put off by his scenes than I was by, say, Sarah/whatever hulking out and trashing her friends (don't even get me started on these accents) apartment.

I was shaking my head uncontrollably when Sara went back to her brothers place after finding out Vic ran into Allison. The dude just found out you may still be alive so you go to the person who is Vic's only connection? Of course that would be Vic's first stop.

Yeah, that was stupid of her, but it wasn't that surprising given how much she's dealing with at the moment.

Renewed for S2 according to Ivysources.

I'll post the press release when I see it.

Da what?!

New York – May 2, 2013 – BBC AMERICA has renewed highly acclaimed original series, Orphan Black, for a second season to return as part of Supernatural Saturday in 2014. The conspiracy clone thriller starring Tatiana Maslany has been re-commissioned with a 10-episode order from Temple Street Productions, ahead of its season one finale on Saturday, June 1.

In making the announcement, Perry Simon, General Manager, Channels, BBC Worldwide America said: “Tatiana Maslany has delivered one of the year’s standout performances. We’re excited to commission a second season from the talented team of Graeme, John and Temple Street Productions, and we can’t wait to see who Tatiana shows up as in season two.”

“We’re delighted with the second season order for Orphan Black and want to thank everyone at BBC AMERICA, BBC Worldwide and Space for their support and commitment to our show,” commented David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg, executive producers of Orphan Black and Co-Presidents of Temple Street Productions. “We’re thrilled to continue this journey with such a strong team and fantastic cast, led by the ridiculously talented Tatiana Maslany. A huge thanks to the fans for their steadfast support of the show. We’re looking forward to giving every one of them more Orphan Black.”

Orphan Black is produced by Temple Street Productions in association with BBC AMERICA and Space. The series is co-created by Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, with Manson also serving as writer and Fawcett as director. Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier are executive producers on behalf of Temple Street. The cast includes Maria Doyle Kennedy (Downton Abbey, Dexter), Jordan Gavaris (Degrassi, Unnatural History), Dylan Bruce (As The World Turns, Unstoppable), Kevin Hanchard (The Listener, Take the Lead) and Michael Mando (Make Your Move, The Colony).

The groundbreaking series launched on March 30 with Sarah (Maslany), an outsider and orphan whose life changes dramatically after witnessing the suicide of a woman, “Beth,” who looks just like her. Sarah takes her identity, her boyfriend and her bank account. But instead of solving her problems, the street-smart chameleon is thrust headlong into a kaleidoscopic mystery. She makes the dizzying discovery that she and the dead woman are clones… but are they the only ones? Sarah quickly finds herself caught in the middle of a deadly conspiracy, racing to find answers.

I can't wait to watch this during the summer.
