Umm, I imagine these are reruns of the show that was already made a couple years ago...

At least I think there was a show, 'cause I recall covering a GBA game that was supposedly based on a TV show.

I'm beginning to question Cartoon Network and their choices of shows. This and Static Shock should not be on there, especially since they cancelled Samurai Jack because they "didn't understand it"

Eh, can't say I blame the cancellation of Samurai Jack. It really WAS quite weird for its target audience, and seemed to be going nowhere. Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Sealab 2021 are the good things on CN these days.

Samurai Jack is cancelled? WTF, I thought it just won an emmy. And that Osmosis Jones cartoon has been around for years, welcome to 2002.

Q. So why end the series?

A. The truth is, I didn't choose to take him off the air. [It was] Cartoon Network. I don't think they hated it, I just think they didn't know what to do with the show. "Jack" is geared to kids but also caters to adults.

Q. The show is about a samurai who is thrown into the future by an evil wizard. Do we get to see Jack make it back to his family and his own time?

A. It's just the final four episodes. There isn't a big Hollywood ending that wraps everything up.

Q. You're leaving Jack stranded like Gilligan on the isle?

A. For now. I definitely want to finish the story. I'd like to do a full-length movie if they let me.

WTf are you talking about Static Shock and this show has just as muck right to be on there as Scoobie Doo. I'm going to jump at your poorly disguised race bait and ask why don't these shows belong on there, oh I know, because they have black themed characters? Please tell me how an animated show doesn't belong on an animation themed tv station. Don't try and dodge the question by claiming they suck, or some other BS. I think the Brady Bunch sucks but I wouldn't say it doesn't belong on TV land. Dude you're freaking pathetic.

I asked them (Cartoon Network/Adult Swim had a panel at AWA) what the chances were for them playing The Tick on CN in the future but they said no go :( Shame since it's such an awesome show and I think it could do well on CN... they said to watch the Venture Brothers instead since it has Puddy who played him in the LA version, heh.

Just because a cartoon has a black guy in it doesn't mean it's any good. Cartoon Network is in the business of showing good cartoons (at least in theory). Awful shit (eg Static Shock) does not belong on there.

Uhhhh dude, way to jump the gun and play the race card. I can honestly say that that didn't even come to my mind when I read that post. Besides, the guy who voices Samurai Jack is black.

For the record I disagree, I think Staic Shock was a great show, and it actually won it's time slot on WB Saturdays. I was cancelled because it didn't make money because they didn't marrket outside, ie lunch boxs, comics, poster stuff like that. Most cartoons don't make their money on the shows but licenses. Static Shock didn't bring in money elsewhere like other shows, to offset the production of the cartoon. We could argue why it didn't but that's another. If you didn't like the show I won't argue that either as you have your own tastes, anyhow my intial post had nothing to do with the show being good or not rather I asked why does thgis show not belong on the Cartoon network with obviously it's a cartoon. Again weatrher or not it is/was good in your eyes or not is irrelevent.

It only came to my mind because the only two shows I've ever heard not belonging on a animation Tv channel just happenes to be to black orintated show.

They should not be on there because they are not very good shows, I was thinking that CN had gone beyond repeating retrends during Primetime at least and more originals. I don't like the oblongs, venture bros or atomic betty. Do I hate white themed shows as well?

What show did the Ozzy and Drix (name of the Osmosis Jones cartoon show) replace?... so that i can complain about them replacing a great show. =P

What other KidsWB shows have been put on Cartoon Network? X-Men Evolution (GREAT Ultimate-type universe styled X-Men show), Pokemon, YuGiOh, Mucha Lucha (pretty damn hilarious), the new Scooby Doo POS show, the retarded Playskool heroes cartoon, and now these Ozzy and Static shows have been put on (hopefully to be replaced soon).... have there been any others?
I mean, aside from DC comics cartoons (Batman:TAS, Superman:TAS, Batman Beyond).

Speaking of which... how closely did Static Shock cartoon follow the Milestone(?) comic?

Osmosis Jones is okay but Static Shock is a pap smear from the taint of animation. It sucked then, it sucks now and it needs to be canked. I honestly think they use it as filler until they can get something decent.

SS would have been a lot better had they stuck more to the source material (a great deal of the comic dealt with racism, mostly via Static's Jewish girlfriend's bigoted parents) instead of trying to make a kiddified Batman+Superman

If any series was going to be spun-off of Osmosis Jones, the only possible decent angle would be to follow around live-action Bill Murray and Chris Elliot.

Unfortunatly no, and like someone already stated it would have been better had they gone with the comic version. That's why at first i didn't like it, but after catching it a few times I thought it was a pretty good show on it's own. I really hated when they turned Richie into his sidekick thought it was totally wrong but I can see why they did it.

I totally agree with Shadow, I also enjoyed Static Shock a great deal and I think it's reruns belong on the channel just as much as any other show. Static is still pulling in excellent ratings during it's timeslot just like it did when it was on WB. Sad as it is to say in 2004, Static not getting licensing deals was a racial issue, the creator, Dwayne Mcduffie has stated this several times on his forums. When he went to all the different toy companies they pretty much all told him kids wouldn't want to buy merchandise based off black characters.

Yeah, that's true but it makes sense. Black action figures usually sell less than white ones (same with women action figures).
Anyway, the characters (enemies and his sidekick) were incredibly generic looking. The writing was almost 80s bad (for a cartoon). It's like all of the good WB cartoonists and talent went to Cartoon Network. Are there anymore cartoons being made for broadcast or syndication that doesn't suck (that older cartoon watchers can enjoy)?

Static Shock was OK what runied it for me was whne batman guest stared and we were treated to a horrible "urban" rendition of the Batman theme. I don't think he being blackhas anything to do with it, the show was just meh be he black white orange or blue.

Speaking of WTF is up with Cartoon Network...what happend to "Old School Anime" during adult swim I saw commercials for it Mon-thurs at 1 am....so Case Closed is Old School!?!? WTF is with inuyasha is CN showing it in any particular order or just random? It's also time for new shows, Powerpuff Girls, Dexters Lab, and Reruns of 2+ year old Kids WB shows is getting old. Fosters is a good addition, yet Atomic Betty and Spy Chicks (or what ever) are horrible. Adlut Swim needs an overhaul too...Futurama is cool and all but enough already, same with Case Closed, (sadly) Cowboy Bebop and Wolfs Rain. You know it's bad when you see the same Sealab episode 3 - 4 times in 2 weeks.

Wolf's Rain and Case Closed haven't finished yet!!! Especially not the former.... They're showing Inuyasha in "order", but they reset the series to somewhere in the 30s and start from there again.

Cartoon Network itself has stopped showing PPG and Dexters Lab as their "primetime" cartoons (they're only on in the mornings now, i believe). They replaced them with Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (fucking awesome show) and Ed Edd and Eddy (eh). Then next it's a couple of shows for girls (too damn Disney-like) and followed by "new" WB cartoons.

There are newer shows coming up too, one of which is about another female protagonist which sounds like mix between Jackie Chan and Ninjak (the Acclaim relaunch version).

Adult Swim is getting a MAJOR overhaul over the next several weeks.

This Saturday is the last episode of Wolf's Rain.

Next Saturday (as in the 23rd) will be Read or Die.

The Saturday after that is The Animatrix (yes, again, I know), but then the week after that brings HUGE changes. November 6 sees the debuts of BOTH Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex AND Full Metal Alchemist (everybody must watch FMA). Then November 7 sees the debut of the Super Milk Chan Show, as well as the pilot for Squidbillies. Tom Goes to the Mayor debuts on November 14 (I have no idea what this is). And I think Witch Hunter Robin also returns in November.

I'm not certain how the weeknight lineup will change during November, but I've heard they may swap Sealab for ATHF again at the very least.

EDIT: Okay, just did a check, Witch Hunter Robin is supposed to return to the WEEKNIGHT lineup in November, so that ought to shuffle something out of there (probably Case Closed).

I thought it was Inuyasha that was being taken out.

No, Inuyasha is only getting axed off the weekend lineup as far as I know. I'm pretty sure the weekday reruns stay on so that they can catch up to the episode they are going to show this Saturday for when they start new episodes later in December (the new episodes are going to be on the weeknight run).
