OW won game of the year while I was playing OW

It's a great game, sucks it can't be both this and Doom though.

But, overwatch is awesome? What would a single player overwatch even be? Would counterstrike be better as single player? Wow? Counterstrike? LoL? Every sports game?

It's always interesting to me when people suggest OW needs a singleplayer campaign. The game is fine-tuned for a muliplayer experience, and individual characters are facing pretty significant updates as they go through balance changes. Would the characters in the single player portion be stuck with their old versions? At what point would that not be really weird?

It's like making a DOTA2 single player campaign. It'd be so far off from the experience that the large majority of people are coming to game to have, including it is just a waste of resources.

Not sure what's funnier so far, the salt from those who can't accept that OW is really without question the game event of the year, or the shade being thrown by UC4 haters who can't seem to let go. Embarrassing all round!

Honestly, I want ND criticized over the faults of this game so they can improve for the next. I am a huge fan of their previous titles.

It's okay. That game you're thinking of is still great. This year it just made some go まだまだ. And Blizzard fans won't throw it in your face. They won't go around saying "I'm number 1!" Going forward learn from the pain. And I appreciate everyone's passion. To each and every one of you I salute you. At the end of the day we're all animals anyway right? It doesn't make sense to boil it down to a video. The game has many aspects to it and the quality, polish, interactions and variety can't really be capsulated in one video.

I could never give a multiplayer only game GOTY. It would have to be something that changes shooters and the competitive world like no other. DOOM, Uncharted, and Titanfall all had a great campaign and multiplayer. I'm obviously only speaking for myself, but reading this thread I can see I'm not alone.
