WTF does banning have to do with making a statement and then backing it up with an argument? It's not like he said, "Blacks can't be superspies".
What I'm saying is that James Bond's character should stay true to the Bond mythos. Which happens to be a white British guy. Not a black rapper. Or lesbian Samoan. Or whatever. It's nothing to be ashamed of, folks. Why do you think I got so worked up when Michael Clarke Duncan played the Kingpin? That's not the Kingpin I grew up reading about.
There's being inclusive, and then there's being fucking ridiculous. You can guess what category I think this falls into.

So motherfucking what you didn't grow up with a Black Kingpin, that doesn't mean that there shouldn't never be one. Did you shit bricks when Denzel Washington played Othello, I mean you didn't grow up with a black Othello either. You ask me to back up my argument and all you have to back your up with is "I didn't grow up with one. :rolleyes" The race of either the Kingpin or Bond is not relevent to their character. There are black thugs running around as well as well mannered and educated black British men. So fucking what if there hasn't been a black man in either of these roles before. I take it you have a stick up your butt about Jackie Robinson joining the white baseball leagues, I mean baseball with a black man playing wasn't a league that most white people grew up watching. im not an expert on the subject or anything, but wasn't the character of Othello always black?

a Moor is not a Spanish person who converted to Islam, a Moor is one of the guys from Muslim Africa that conquered Spain. Othello has ALWAYS been black.

Let me be the first to say I have been OWNED!!!!!! Just did a quick yahoo search and found out that I was totally wrong in regards to the Othello not being black as well as Larry Fishburn being the first black to play him. The rest of my post stands. The race of Bond or the Kingpin are irrelevent to their character.

yeah othello is black, its mentioned pretty specifically in the play. and denzel did "much ado about nothing", he was the prince IIRC.
as for bond being black, you have to realize that the mythos is associated with a white man because it was written to be a white man. a white british spy in the post ww2, cold war era. i dont think anyone is saying there cant be a suave black spy, its just that, bond isnt supposed to be black. much like toranaga from shogun isnt black.

I've got the perfect Black Bond... and we've already seen him in Bond movies... AND he's British.
He's got a great accent and a very distinct voice.
Ok maybe he's too prominent to become Bond... he's played the Charles Robinson character in the last 3 Bond movies... but hey he could still be an MI6 spy.....

Bond should be 'Asian'. They're are probably the largest minority group in Britain. Make him do song and dance when he kills the villain and then sing a song of sorrow when he realises that it's long lost half brother.

I think we're missing the point, gents. Nobody's casting Puff Daddy as James Bond. He just said, "Hey, I think it'd be cool to play James Bond," something all of us have probably said at one point or anonther. He can say, "Jeez, I wish I could be a dragon. Flying 'round, breathing fire, it'd be the tits!" But it's not going to make him a fucking dragon.
