I thought this wasn't supposed to be a video game, only a tech demo :\

And Wario64, do you have a life outside the forums, seriously now? :p

Of course he does.

It's in front of his TV. :lol

It made for a crazy-cool tech demo, but I too am scratching my head about how this turns into a full game. I'm open minded, though. Cautiously optimistic. Pacman Vs turned out awesome.

I didn't get to play this, is the point of the game to draw Pac-man?
Pretty much, you draw Pac-man and he comes to life and chomps up ghosts. From other shots we've seen from the website, there are objectives in each level, whether it be to kill all the ghosts or get certain points, but I don't quite see how they're going to make this into a full fledged game. Then again they're probably just going with the simple puzzler route.

IIRC, the demo played out thusly:

Ghosts would appear on the screen, in varying sizes. Drawing Pac Man figures on the screen would launch an animated version of your drawing in the direction he's facing. You had to draw one that's at least as large as the ghost in such a way that he'd animate and intercept the ghost, eating him. Drawing one too small wouldn't work, and drawing a shape that didn't closely enough resemble Pac Man would cause him to fail, not come to life.

Something like that.

Starting to wonder this, too. He either starts the thread or he's the first reply.

I really didn't think Namco would put the time in to create software based on the Pac n Pix idea that would be a justifiable purchase. It always seemed, a little, well, yes - tech demo style.

But looking at these screens, while the game doesn't look like it's changed much from the tech demo status, the fact they have bosses leads me to believe they are trying to flesh out a full fledged game. Could be VERY cool.

It looks cool anyway.

Well, to be fair, he also roots through flyers. Athough, by this point, he probably have a consortium of fellow cheap-ass gamers working for him.

The thing is, it's not because you don't reply to a thread or don't start one that you aren't reading the boards and doing nothing else.

Where the fuck is Pac-n-Roll? Seriously, this game blowed ass at E3 where as Pac-n-Roll was a shit load of fun.

I sort of agree... at E3, I spent about five minutes with Pac Pix and at least twice as long with Pac-n-Roll.

I never noticed Wario posting any deals at CAG. Am I missing it? I've just assumed he reposts the really good deals that others post at CAG.

you're going to get about 10 ripoffs of the same gameplay throughout the DS's lifespan, so why worry?

Shit man, I don't track the guy. It was a joke.

Alright, so he has a life outside the forums and it apparently includes CAG.

Pac-n-Roll was a Pac-Man style maze game created by Namco. The top screen had a maze on it and there will hills and ditches and stuff. The lower screen showed a spherical Pac-man. You rolled the Pac-Man on the top screen (also sphereical) by rubbing the bottom screen. The objective was the same as normal Pac-Man. Collect power pellets and kill ghosts with super pellets. It was awesome.

Pac-Pix, on the other hand, was a stupid fucking game. It's certainly not enough to warrent a full version. I can't believe Pac-Pix is being released and there's still no word on the much better Pac-Man DS game, Pac-n-Roll.

developers can make great games for NDS yet?
I got the system and own 5 games.

feel the magic
wario
the one-line pluzze game from nintendo
band brothers
yoshi

feel the magic is the worst (crap mini games and no fun at all)
wario (it quite good but the first two on GBA is a lot better)
the one-line pluzze game (it's ok but not very addictive and a little bit short)
yoshi (i think it's very interesting and addictive but suprise to see that it's a pluzze game)

and this tech demo become a real game too (just like yoshi). just hope the content is richer than we think

Well that was a fantastic post. Glad I read that.
Pac Pix is looking real lame though. We can have more fun playing Penis Pix in Pictochat.

When I played the game, I had the worst time getting he DS to "recognize" the Pac Men I drew.

That being said, it was still fun, but I really can't imagine the game having that much legs. I sorta assumed both it and Pac-N-Roll would be released together in one cart.

I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that Pac Pix is might be the other half of the Pac Roll game.

I can see Pac-n-Roll being a very popular game in it's own right but I don't see Pac Pix pulling the same popularity on it's own. Combining the two games might be advantageous for both projects and really make a compelling product that offers a fair bit of stuff to do.

i guess i am the 1% this time.

the 1st vids i saw of pac pix had me interested in the DS.

i could easily imagine how they could turn it into a whole game with levels and boards and be on the same scheme of things as old games like galaga .

Hopefully there is a good deal more depth than we saw in the E3 demo.
Don't hope too much. It looks pretty lame. Can't believe they're trying to charge people full price for this.

Much like Pacman Versus., this game will change the world and how we view it.
do u mean the gc version of pacman that with the use of GBA? it' fun but it's just a bonus disk rather than charge for a full game's price.

this would be one of the games that makes me actually not wantto wait any longer to get a DS. this and advanced wars DS.
