Are you crazy? We got Mario Kart & WiiFit before the USA - the two fastest selling Nintendo titles in UK video-game history!
This also mean that there will be more willing punters to buy Smash Bros. a game that was largely ignored sales wise in the UK last time round (Mario Sunshine & Mario Kart outsold it), especially with Sonic in the adverts.
Much as I hate delayed games, Nintendo are right on course.
Presuming that we have the week structure for the Months right I am guestimating the following sales:
Mario Kart Wii 373,000
Wii Fit: 245,000 (definitely sold over the highest Pro Evo game which beat 200k but under Halo 2 which was over 260k)
And for those of you that aren't from the UK and wonder why i'm constantly amazed at DS & Wii games in the top 40 should check out the Halo 2 sales link - it's the week Nintendo's xmas line up for the year flopped...
painful history said:Nintendo has a slightly disappointing debut for two of its Christmas hopes, with GameCube title Paper Mario 2: The Thousand Year Door at number 36 this week, followed by GBA adventure The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap at number 37. Paper Mario 2 performed very strongly in the USA last month, so its failure to trouble the top ten in the UK is doubly disappointing, although the low sales of The Minish Cap may well be attributed to the fact that many consumers don't seem to be aware that the game is actually out.
